Chapter 20

It was late in the afternoon when I decided to go back to the house. All day I enjoyed swimming and I never thought that I'd missed doing it so much.

It's been years since I had a time to swim for hours without worrying about my plans in life.

It was as if I was back to the times when I was still living in our province. I remembered back then when I would kill time swimming in the river. It felt nostalgic.

I put away all the trash in the sand and got my stuff and cellphone before I walked back to the house. The whole living room and kitchen were quiet as I entered. Maverick's familiar presence is gone.

I dried myself first and wrapped a towel around my head before entering. I threw the trash in the trash can, put the cellphone on the table and washed the used utensils on the sink.

I'm still contemplating on whether to knock on the room to take a shower or not when the door opened and Maverick went out holding an empty cup of coffee. I sc
