LOGINElaria's POV
The hotel where I am lodged has a bar and instead of locking myself in, I decide to have fun and celebrate my survival.
I throw down the last shot of red wine in the wooden shot paddle with six glasses. The red wine burns softly as it goes down, warmth spreading through my chest.
I push the tray towards the bartender. “Fill up the glasses again,” I order.
She looks at me intently like she wants to deduce who I am beneath the mask that is mandatory to wear before entering the bar and why I am drinking so much, says nothing, then nods once. She grabs the bottle of wine, opens it, fills the glasses and pushes the tray gently towards me.
“Enjoy, ma'am.”
One after the other, I throw down the six glasses and by the time I am done, I feel so heavy-headed, the room swirling faintly around me.
My gaze flicks towards a corner and I see a man seated there. Through his silver mask, I see hazel eyes staring deeply into mine like I am the only thing that has made sense in a while, shockwaves spreading through my body and goosebumps rising on my skin. We both maintain the gaze and it feels like time stops. I feel so connected to him in a way that is so unnatural and fuck… I press my thighs together as I feel heat pooling beneath me, even my nipples tightening and pressing hard against my bra.
What is happening?
And that is when it strikes me… tonight is the full moon and I am a she-wolf in heat, especially since it has been months since Elias last fucked me. I have been suppressing my sexual urge with anti-suppressants from the pack's clinic but now I do not have it here.
I should get away from here.
I quickly stand, reach into the back pocket of my jeans and slam a hundred-dollar note on the table which I believe will cover for the red wine. I turn away towards the exit, take a step and then freeze.
Why am I running away?
For once, I choose what I want and if I am starting all over again, I decide everything, including the man who gets access to my cunt.
Without thinking twice, I start walking towards his table, every step I take closer to him only makes my body react to him sexually, lustfully and uncontrollably. By the time I reach his table, I feel the crotch of my thong clinging to my pussy like a second skin.
“Hey handsome,” I call out loudly so he can hear me through the music, waving slightly at him. Even though I cannot see his face, I know someone with such a perfect jaw would be dangerously handsome. His powerful and familiar aura presses down on me but I push it away and focus on getting relieved of the torture between my thighs.
“Yes, beautiful.”
Those two words stroke through me, making my nipples tighten even more until I bite down on my lower lip to muffle the moan threatening to spill out.
He crosses his leg and throws down his wine, his throat moving so sexily that I want to run my fingers over it. “Do you need help?”
“Yes,” I respond too quickly. “I need you.”
Definitely not for love, not anymore in this life or the next after everything the man I loved for five years has done to me, but for lust.
My voice drops into a low, sultry whisper. “I need you down there,” I add shamelessly, knowing this is definitely the red wine talking and I absolutely love it.
His expression is initially unreadable, then slowly a devilish smirk tugs at the corner of his lips. “Are you sure? Because you can’t act like tonight did not happen.”
“Of course, I’m sure,” I answer smoothly. I do not think much of his words because I will not even see him ever again.
“Fine.” He stands, takes a long drag of his cigar, puffs the smoke into the air and drops it into the ashtray.
He grips my wrist tightly and leads me out of the clubhouse, the loud music fading into the background as we enter the hotel building.
________
Once I blink my eyes open the next morning, I look beside me to his back turned at me, snoring faintly in deep slumber. Without waiting, I slip out of bed and pick up my outfit sprawled across the floor, quickly throwing them on.
As I tiptoe out of the room, I stop mid-step when I remember his words from last night.
“You can’t act like tonight did not happen.”
My brows furrow as I try to understand what he meant, but after thinking hard for a moment, I still cannot figure it out.
Whatever. I am in no position to care about a stranger’s words now.
I reach into my pocket, retrieve the two hundred dollars note there, walk over to the table and place it down. He did a good job last night, so it is only right that I pay him since I approached him.
Fuck… the memories of how he fucked me recklessly, far better than my ex-husband, claw into my mind and I feel my pussy clenching tightly.
As much as I feel the urge to look back at the man who worshipped my body last night, I decide against it. Him staying anonymous might be for the best. I cannot afford to be distracted in my mission of ruining Elias and Isolde.
I quickly tiptoe out of the room and make my way to my suite, and just as I step into the corridor, I perceive a familiar scent and when I look forward, I see her standing by my door.
Beta Aurora, my father’s Beta, is dressed in corporate black pants and a black shirt, her silver hair packed neatly in a bun and her silver eyes lighting up with joy the moment she sees me, her lips curling into a small reassuring smile she has always given me since I lost my mother when I was eight and she practically raised me.
Five guards stand behind her, all dressed in black with dark sunglasses.
I stiffen, feeling awkward because I know that if she is here, then it means one thing—Father already knows about my divorce.
They bow deeply.
I swallow past the thick lump in my throat. “What are you doing here?” I force out, stepping forward.
“Your father,” Aurora replies gently, “has heard about your divorce and he wants you back home immediately.”
Elaria's POVI woke up only to find the bed empty, Alaric wasn't here, I looked around when I heard his whispers from the other room, “find out everything and tell me," he said, sounding angry.“Who are you talking to?" I asked when he laid on his side of the bed, his back was turned to me.“You're awake," he exclaimed, he looked a bit surprised.“Yeah, I have been awake for a little while now," I replied.“You haven't answered my question," I added when he didn't say anything.“It's a business call, nothing you should be concerned about," he said dismissively. I knew he was lying, he was hiding something from me.“That's not the truth," I confronted sitting up on the bed.“Because you don't want it to be and anyway, you shouldn't be concerned about my matter, go to bed now, I'll sleep in the living room," he said, climbing up the bed and walking out of the room.I couldn't understand what the hell was going on in this man's head, he was definitely hiding something from me and I could
Alaric's POV“Are you sure there's no problem," Elaria asked, her smile slowly fading away. She didn't look like she trusted what I said.“Everything is alright Elaria, there's no need to worry so much, Evander is just updating me about the pack's situation and it's going really well," I lied.“Oh… okay, can we go inside, it's quite chilly out there,” she replied with a soft voice."Yeah,” I replied but what Evander said still troubled me.I placed my hand softly on her back, feeling how her body stiffened at my touch. She was affected by my touch too and she couldn't deny it.She mumbled something under her breath and I couldn't quite understand it but decided to let it go following behind her as she hastened her steps.“Where are you going to sleep?" She asked when she noticed me walk into the room with her.“I'm sleeping in this room, this is the only livable room in this house, so I don't have a choice but to stay here,” I replied."If you sleep here, where am I going to sleep?" S
Elaria’s POVI couldn’t remember the last time I had eaten a meal without worrying about what was happening somewhere else or if it was poisoned or not, but having Alaric sitting opposite me, with a calm smile, gave me a sense of peace. I was safe and my baby was too, even though there were still troubles before us, I could think clearly.I looked at the plate in front of me and then at him as he took a bite of the food, he looked visibly pleased but he hadn’t said anything yet.“So?”Alaric looked up from his food. “So what?”“You haven’t said anything.”He took another bite, chewing slowly before nodding. “Well, it’s not all that, but it’s good,” he said with a teasing smile.“Are you sure about that or you’re just scared to admit this is the best meal you’ve had,” I replied, digging into my own plate. He smiled. “Fine, I have tasted food from the best chef around the world, but I must admit this is the best pasta I’ve ever had.”I rolled my eyes. “You’re only saying that because yo
Elaria’s POV“Are you sure you can do that?” I asked, patting my belly to stop myself from laughing so much.“Yes, I’ll show you,” Alaric replied, wearing an apron and chopping an onion into pieces.“Ouch,” he mumbled, wiping his eyes; he had somehow gotten onion juice in his eyes.“How did you do this?” I laughed, wiping his eyes with a clean napkin. He had bragged that he knew how to cook and had insisted on cooking dinner tonight, but from what I saw, we were going to order take out tonight. He didn’t even know how to cut an onion correctly.“I think you should let me cook dinner, you’re more suited to the political lifestyle,” I urged, but he nodded his head.“No, you’re doing that, there’s nothing I can do, you just have to have enough faith in me,” he said, trying to pick the appropriate pan from the cupboard.“Wow, should I call the ambulance to be close by? I definitely don’t want to die from food poisoning,” I said, picking up my apron.“There’s no need to do that, I’m seriou
Elaria’s POV“This place is nice,” I said, breaking the awkward silence between us since we got here.I couldn’t explain how much peace this place gave me. The villa was small but charming with cream-colored walls covered in climbing flowers and warm lights at the entrance. A small garden of colorful flowers and neatly trimmed bushes surrounded it.A stone path led to the wooden front door, with a small pool overlooking the countryside and an upstairs balcony with two chairs for watching the sunset. It wasn’t grand or something, but it made me forget my troubles and gave me a calm feeling. I felt at ease after a long while.“Yeah,” he replied, unpacking his bag.“Did Evander choose this place? He has such great taste,” I praised, noticing how he stopped and stared at me for a while before picking another cloth.“No, I chose it myself,” he said.“How did you stumble upon somewhere so pretty and dreamy? I love everything about this place,” I said, walking over to the pure glass window.
Cassandra POVI stared at the gold on my hands. It was payment to my part in the shipment, but this was less than enough. If I want to win the hearts of the people for my daughter and help her take her place as the alpha, I need funds. To bribe those elders and buy men. The ringing on my phone snapped me out of my thoughts.I picked my phone, staring at the message that popped up. ‘Come to the hideout, we need to take it, make sure to shake off your tail,’ the message read.Elaria, that bitch thinks that now that she’s back, she’ll take what rightfully belongs to us. I stayed back with Luca when everything was rough, and now he chose to hand over everything to her, over my dead body.“Mom, when are you going to meet Mr Finn? They have successfully logged into the security database of the pack house, and Elaria has escaped,” Evangeline said angrily as she walked into my bedroom.Evangeline paced around my room, frowning with frustration.“She escaped again, Mom!” she snapped. “How does
