Rachael's POV
“ Camilla is pregnant with Keaton's child” I told Grace as we sat together in my office the next day.
Grace grimaced. “ This isn't a joke is this? Because It's not funny” Grace said with seriousness in her voice.
I exhaled, closing the file in my front.
“ I'm telling the truth. Keaton is expecting a baby with her soon?” I managed to convince Grace and I saw how her face suddenly transformed with pain.
“ What are you saying, Rachael? Who is Camilla that's pregnant for your husband and how did that happen?” Grace raised a curious gaze at me.
I hesitated before I answered weakly. “ The Camilla we both know. My secretary, Grace”
This revelation shocked Grace, causing her to spring up from the chair.
“ Are you serious? How? When?” Grace didn't believe me. Those were the exact questions I asked myself when I found out.
‘How?’ ‘When?’
I palmed my face, tears welled up in my eyes. “ I'm confused as you are, Grace. Keaton has been cheating with Grace behind closed doors and here I was painting him a sheep whereas he's a snake…” A tear dropped from my face.
Grace immediately walked to my seat and hugged me.
“ I'm so sorry, Racheal. I didn't know about this” She said, giving me her unwavering support.
“ I was a good wife, Grace. Did practically everything for Keaton and our son. But what did he do in return? He cheated on me with nobody other than my own secretary” I lamented. “ My secretary, Grace!”
Grace wiped my tears. “ Oh, stop crying, Rachael. I promise you that you're going to be fine”
“ Everything has been ruined, Grace. Everything I had and once have” Tears drop more from my face.
“ Oh, stop saying that Rachael. You still have your career, your son, your family and of course me. Even if Keaton gives up loving you, you know your family and son can't stop loving you” Grace said softly, her words sending comfort to my shattered soul.
“ Thank you,” my voice flattened.
I was about to narrate how Camilla moved her luggages to my house to Grace when my phone rang out.
It was an unknown number.
“ I need to take this call,” I said to Grace, retrieving my phone from the desk.
“ Hello, Rachael” A male baritone struck coldly from the phone.
It was him. Alec.
Suddenly, my body began to vibrate internally like there was fire on my body.
I cleared my throat.
“ Hello, this is Attorney Rachael. How may I help you?” I said, pretending not to know who's on the phone.
Alec scoffed from the phone as if he knew I was pretending.
“ I called to inform you about the get-together party with my staff this evening, if you're still coming” His voice echoed through my ears.
Very firm but soft.
My gaze shifted to Grace. It didn't occur to me when I began to stammer on the phone.
“ Y–es, I didn't forget” My breath hitched.
“ Sounds good! Will send the details immediately as we wrap up this call”
“ Sure, I'll be waiting,” I said, sounding like a teenage girl in love.
Grace gave me a surprising look immediately after the call ended and a message from Alec popped in my phone.
“ Who was that?” She asked, glaring suspiciously at me.
“Mmh–Mhn… it's no one really important. Just an old friend” I stammered, lying to Grace.
I know if I told Grace about what plans I had, she would discourage me from divulging in them so I had to lie just to seek the revenge I want.
Grace believed me and didn't ask more questions.
I was dismissed early from the office that day with the permission Mr Hughes, my boss, gave me.
Grace wanted to be with me but I told her I was fine now and drove out.
The house was empty when I got in, so I went straight to the bathroom, took a nice bath and began to prepare for the party at the Beverly Hills hotel.
That evening, I was looking outside my usual self. It's been a while since I wore something enticing, sexy and revealing.
Hurrying to the wardrobe, I grabbed my purse to leave before Keaton arrived.
The hotel was lit. After giving Alec a call, he asked me to walk inside the grand hall.
Immediately I got to the entrance of the hall, my eyes caught a glimpse of Alec's sharp and piercing gaze.
Something extraordinary sparkled in me whenever our gaze met. He waved at me, signaling to come over.
“ You look so extraordinary tonight” He complimented, gazing at me.
I gave a girlish smile. Not like a wife this time around. Not even as a Lawyer.
But as something different that only the heart knows.
“ You too, you looked so handsome” I returned the compliment.
Alec’s gaze locked to mine and I followed his gaze until it stopped at my chest, which was exposed halfway, revealing my breast.
Thereafter, his gaze shifted to the empty air.
“ Can we go in?” He asked, his composure now steady.
“ Sure” I chuckled and Alec nodded.
“Then, may I have the honor to wrap my hands over my beautiful sister-in-law in arms?” he asked, his expression soft but his motives remain hidden and unpredictable.
I laughed and spread out my arms.
“ Sure, I'm all yours tonight” The words impulsively escaped my lips and Alec arched his brows without uttering a word.
The party began.
The girls working in Alec's company were damn beautiful.
It beats me hard how he still manages to remain pious seeing all those beautiful sexy girls fawning around him.
This left me curious.
Yes, I wanted an answer to something deep whether he was also a part of the league, the gay’s League.
But something else was more shocking.
When Alec introduced me to friends and was asked who I was, to my surprise, he told them I was his childhood best friend.
A pure white lie there.
Why did he tell people I was his childhood best friend instead of his older brother's wife?
Why? Is he up to something?
I nodded, agreeing to the lie also, setting the room for my desires. My plans.
The party progressed. Wine was served. I drank excessively with deliberation even if it was my first time.
Eventually the party ended, I had become weak and leaned on Alec's body for help.
“ Take me to be with you” I said drunk and then kissed his lips, craving him all.
Although my vision blurred from consuming too much liquor, I could see the way Alec looked at me with devotion.
Something deep and forbidden lingered in his eyes also.
His breath, everything. craved me to devour me.
Without delay, Alec lifted me in his hands, carrying me out of the hall to an unknown destination and I became his prey that night onwards.
