Adira's POV

The radiant white light suddenly blurred my vision. I felt something heavy stuck in my head when I heard a familiar voice.

“Will you marry me, Adira?”

‘What's happening? Where am I?’ I thought as I looked toward the source of the voice.

It was Xavier.

He was on his knees with a tiny diamond ring in a plain box, while I held a bouquet of flowers.

‘Am I not dead yet? Or am I recalling everything from the beginning? Do people feel like this as they see their entire life before dying?’

I was still in my thoughts when June came from behind and nudged me a little. “Hey, Xavier is asking you something.”

I turned to look at June, and that confirmed that I wasn't in a dreamy sequence of my death. Everyone was smiling at me, making me recall that it was the same day when Xavier proposed to me.

“Adira, what happened to you?” June again questioned me, this time holding my arm. “Are you going to make your mate wait on his knees for you for an entire day?”

I closed my eyes for a moment, telling myself it wasn't real and that death should embrace me completely. But everything seemed so real. And just then, I felt the time freeze; every movement had stopped.

I again felt the same white glowing in the sky, which almost blinded me.

“Adira, you asked for a chance. I have sent you back in time. Hopefully, you will rewrite your fate this time.”

“What!?” “Is… Is it true?” I muttered to that white light, but it disappeared instantly, and I heard the voice of a man I didn't want to.

“Yes, yes, it’s very true,” Xavier replied instantly. “I’m proposing to you. I want us to get married.”

I looked down at Xavier as tears started to stream out of my eyes. I couldn’t believe that my wish was granted, and I had gone back in time to change my miserable past.

“Look at her crying in happiness,” June said in a low tone as she smiled brightly.

But this time, I could see the malice behind that smile.

“Yes, I’m happy,” I accepted frankly as I wiped my tears and put aside the flowers. “But I can’t accept your proposal.”

“Wh… What?” Xavier’s body faltered as he almost fell, but soon he got up to his feet and held my hand, making me feel disgusted.

However, I didn’t let it show on my face.

“Why are you rejecting me, Adira?” Xavier asked in desperation as his eyes fell on June and then to me. “We… We promised to be together!”

“Yes, we did!” I pronounced and skillfully retracted my hands from him. “But I’ve been thinking a lot these days.”

“What are you thinking?” June questioned with agitation written all over her face. “I mean, why are you even thinking? Can’t you see there are so many people here watching this? You are particularly insulting him.”

“That’s why I can’t do this, because a lot of people are watching,” I said as I looked at everyone. “Xavier is not just anyone; he is the future of his pack, and his grandfather is the pack alpha…”

“What’s that got to do with all this?” Xavier asked, pinching in between his brows. “It’s I who decided you to be my bride; no one can go against my wishes.”

“I know, you have the power in the family, you have a solid background,” I inhaled deeply, looking for the best suitable words to subtly express my disgust. “Even if your uncle is the heir to the pack’s throne, you have a powerful family, and look at me? Who am I?”

I stopped as my fist clenched to the side. I wanted to thrash the trash couple and walk away. But I was witty enough to suppress those thoughts and devise a good plan on the spot.

“I’m nothing but a weak omega who has nowhere to go,” I continued. “You at least have your own house other than your parents’. On the other hand, I’m a slave to the alpha who tortures me every day. And my uncle and aunt, who were supposed to be my family in place of my parents, sold me to an animal!”

Everyone was stunned to hear such opinionated words from a frail and timid girl. But what shocked them most was the revelation that I had been sold as a slave in this day and world.

“What is she talking about?” someone from the crowd murmured.

“Isn’t her cousin standing right there?” Mark, one of Xavier’s friends, stepped forward slightly, confusion written all over his face. His gaze moved toward June. “June… is it true? Your parents sold her to someone? In this day and time?”

All eyes turned to June, hearing his words.

Her face went pale, and for a moment, she looked completely frozen.

“I… I…” she stammered, her lips parting as if searching for an answer but couldn’t find one.

I could see the panic in her eyes.

And before the silence could grow any worse, I quickly spoke up.

“She…” My voice trembled slightly as I wiped the tears from my cheeks. “She was just a kid at that time just like me. She didn’t understand what was happening.”

I forced a faint, weak smile, lowering my gaze as if the memories were too painful to face.

“But were you really sold?” Someone asked again.

I swallowed the lump in my throat at his question.

“Yes… I was sold,” I admitted, my fingers tightening slightly around the fabric of my dress. “But we were children back then. We had no control over the decisions adults made.”

My voice softened further.

“June never hurt me. She… she helped me whenever she could.”

I glanced at her briefly, giving her a small nod as if reassuring her.

“There’s no need to blame her for something that happened so long ago.”

They all started muttering again, shaking their heads, and sighing.

“How can someone be this naïve?”

“She’s too forgiving…”

“She doesn’t even realize what happened to her.”

I heard the whispers, the way their gazes softened when they looked at me, and their suspicious eyes drifted away from June.

Slowly, I lifted my eyes and looked at Xavier.

“Young Master Xavier…” My voice came out quiet as I glanced once at the crowd and then back at him. “It’s not that I don’t like you.”

I paused. I wanted to say that I deeply loathed him.

“But… I am still a slave,” I continued softly. “If I married you, people would only think I’m trying to take advantage of you… using you to escape my misery.”

The hall grew silent.

I lowered my gaze, forcing my voice to remain steady even though my chest felt tight from hatred.

“I know you would do your best to help me get free from his clutches, but you are still just a young master,” I added slowly. “But even if you were able to… then… people wouldn’t see your kindness.”

“They would only see me as an opportunist.”

My fingers tightened slightly as I reached for his hand, holding it gently.

“And they would call you a fool for trusting someone like me.”

For a moment, I looked straight into his eyes.

“I know your love for me is pure,” I said quietly. “But even if you come from a powerful family… You alone can’t change the way the world looks at me.”

My chest burned as I released his hand. That was the last thing I could bear.

I turned around abruptly and ran out of the hall.

The cold air outside hit my face as I rushed forward, my breath coming out unevenly. My heart was pounding wildly in my chest.

My hand kept rubbing against my palm, the same hand that had just touched Xavier’s.

As if I could wipe away the feeling and erase everything.

My vision blurred with tears as I ran blindly across the road.

I didn’t even notice the loud screech of tires or the bright headlights rushing toward me.

And then—

Bam.

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Be Careful

Alessandro's POV The look on Adira’s face was priceless. Up until now, she’d been playing the master strategist, convinced she was three steps ahead of me. But with one move, I completely turned the tables. It all started when I overheard her talking to her aunt. The sharp tone she used made it glaringly obvious that her innocence was nothing more than an act reserved strictly for her own benefit. Even her brother’s perception of her didn't align with the naive front she presented. I had already wasted enough time trying to decipher her from a distance. Moving her into the penthouse was my final move, the only way to keep her close, strip away her cover, and figure out how she knew so much. And most importantly, how was this woman’s voice the exact match for the one from my vivid dreams?"Mr. Alessandro!"Wayne’s voice broke my train of thought as he rushed down the stairs. I glanced up, motioning for him to slow his pace."Are you going to live with us here?" the boy asked, a brig

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Because I Am Going To Live Here

Adira's POV "Sis, are we really going to live in this huge building?" Wayne asked, tilting his head up to stare at the looming structure in front of us."I suppose so. My boss assigned me an apartment here for us to stay in, as per the company's policy," I stated.Even I couldn't quite process the view in front of me. This residential tower was one of the most exclusive and luxurious properties in the entire capital. Only the top one percent could afford to set foot inside, let alone live here."Wow! Your boss must be truly incredible then," Wayne remarked, his eyes wide with genuine awe."Yes," I admitted softly, gripping the handles of our two heavy trolley bags and rolling them toward the front entrance. My jaw nearly dropped the moment we stepped into the main lobby. The lounge area was vast and immaculate, and the security systems looked high-tech enough to keep out an entire army."Could you please tell me which floor this apartment is on?" I asked, stopping one of the uniforme

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Do I Like Adira?

Alessandro’s POVI closed my eyes, leaning back against the seat, trying to figure out why I was getting so involved with Adira. But Wayne’s words kept echoing in my head, hitting me harder than I ever thought.Did I actually like Adira? Or was it just my wolf reacting to her presence? The more doubts clouded my mind, the more determined I became to protect them both. But how? How could I keep them right under my eyes all the time so no harm would ever reach them?I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose, and immediately felt Mason’s eyes on me through the rearview mirror.“Alpha, did something happen with the little guy? Or is there something troubling you?” Mason couldn’t help but ask, seeing me so bothered for the first time in my life.I opened my eyes, staring out the darkened window as a thought slowly crossed my mind.“Mason,” I spoke up, my voice calm and decisive. “Arrange the penthouse in the residence building that we recently bought. Clean it thoroughly.”Mason blinked in

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Do You Like Her

Third-Person POVThe car pulled up outside the hospital, but instead of heading toward where Jonathan was recovering, Alessandro went directly to Wayne’s wardroom next door.Mason followed a step behind, completely bewildered. "Sir, Jonathan’s room is next door. Why are we—""Wait outside," Alessandro cut him off coldly, standing before a quiet room near the end of the hall. He didn't need reports from his spies to understand Adira. Background checks gave facts, dates, and numbers, but they lacked emotions. He wanted to see the piece of her world she was so desperately trying to protect.Alessandro pushed the door open quietly.Inside, a frail boy sat propped up against a mountain of pillows, staring longingly out the window. Wayne looked up at the sound of the opening door, his big, bright eyes blinking in confusion as a towering, impeccably dressed man stepped into the room."Are you... lost, mister?" Wayne asked softly, his voice small and rasping.Alessandro closed the door behind

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   A Person Who's Dead From The Inside

Third Person POVAlessandro watched Adira the whole day. He kept his senses sharp, watching her every move and listening to her quietest reactions. However, he ended up making an unexpected revelation about her.It seemed her aunt had found her new number somehow and was repeatedly calling her—or more like harassing her. Adira had managed to ignore it all morning, but by the time lunch break hit, her patience was wearing thin.“What the hell is wrong with this woman!” she cursed under her breath when she thought she was completely alone. “Does she really think that just because I have a new number and don't have her contact saved, I'll just pick up? Who even picks up random numbers these days?”She angrily muted her phone and tossed it onto her desk, completely unaware that Alessandro was listening to every single word from behind the slightly open door of his office.‘Her aunt?’ Alessandro thought, leaning back in his leather chair with an amused glint in his dark eyes. ‘So the littl

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Adira's Little Game

Adira’s POVI stayed with my brother last night, as it had been a long time since I truly spent time with him. Sitting by his bedside, watching his gentle breathing made me feel at ease.“Sister, you should have woken me up if you were here last night,” Wayne complained the next morning, pouting as I got up to leave for work.“Don’t worry,” I said, softening my expression as I wrapped my arms around him, hugging him tightly. “I was here because I missed you, but now that I’ve seen you safe and sound, I can work more at ease.”Wayne’s eyes teared up as he looked at me, his fingers clutching the fabric of my sleeve tightly, as if afraid I would disappear.“I… I want to live with you,” he whispered, his voice trembling. “I am fine now. I want to see you every day when you come back from work, just like before.”I felt a pang in my heart. It had not even been a month since I started working, so I didn't have enough money saved to rent a decent house for the two of us. Moreover, keeping hi
