Adira's POV

The radiant white light suddenly blurred my vision. I felt something heavy stuck in my head when I heard a familiar voice.

“Will you marry me, Adira?”

‘What's happening? Where am I?’ I thought as I looked toward the source of the voice.

It was Xavier.

He was on his knees with a tiny diamond ring in a plain box, while I held a bouquet of flowers.

‘Am I not dead yet? Or am I recalling everything from the beginning? Do people feel like this as they see their entire life before dying?’

I was still in my thoughts when June came from behind and nudged me a little. “Hey, Xavier is asking you something.”

I turned to look at June, and that confirmed that I wasn't in a dreamy sequence of my death. Everyone was smiling at me, making me recall that it was the same day when Xavier proposed to me.

“Adira, what happened to you?” June again questioned me, this time holding my arm. “Are you going to make your mate wait on his knees for you for an entire day?”

I closed my eyes for a moment, telling myself it wasn't real and that death should embrace me completely. But everything seemed so real. And just then, I felt the time freeze; every movement had stopped.

I again felt the same white glowing in the sky, which almost blinded me.

“Adira, you asked for a chance. I have sent you back in time. Hopefully, you will rewrite your fate this time.”

“What!?” “Is… Is it true?” I muttered to that white light, but it disappeared instantly, and I heard the voice of a man I didn't want to.

“Yes, yes, it’s very true,” Xavier replied instantly. “I’m proposing to you. I want us to get married.”

I looked down at Xavier as tears started to stream out of my eyes. I couldn’t believe that my wish was granted, and I had gone back in time to change my miserable past.

“Look at her crying in happiness,” June said in a low tone as she smiled brightly.

But this time, I could see the malice behind that smile.

“Yes, I’m happy,” I accepted frankly as I wiped my tears and put aside the flowers. “But I can’t accept your proposal.”

“Wh… What?” Xavier’s body faltered as he almost fell, but soon he got up to his feet and held my hand, making me feel disgusted.

However, I didn’t let it show on my face.

“Why are you rejecting me, Adira?” Xavier asked in desperation as his eyes fell on June and then to me. “We… We promised to be together!”

“Yes, we did!” I pronounced and skillfully retracted my hands from him. “But I’ve been thinking a lot these days.”

“What are you thinking?” June questioned with agitation written all over her face. “I mean, why are you even thinking? Can’t you see there are so many people here watching this? You are particularly insulting him.”

“That’s why I can’t do this, because a lot of people are watching,” I said as I looked at everyone. “Xavier is not just anyone; he is the future of his pack, and his grandfather is the pack alpha…”

“What’s that got to do with all this?” Xavier asked, pinching in between his brows. “It’s I who decided you to be my bride; no one can go against my wishes.”

“I know, you have the power in the family, you have a solid background,” I inhaled deeply, looking for the best suitable words to subtly express my disgust. “Even if your uncle is the heir to the pack’s throne, you have a powerful family, and look at me? Who am I?”

I stopped as my fist clenched to the side. I wanted to thrash the trash couple and walk away. But I was witty enough to suppress those thoughts and devise a good plan on the spot.

“I’m nothing but a weak omega who has nowhere to go,” I continued. “You at least have your own house other than your parents’. On the other hand, I’m a slave to the alpha who tortures me every day. And my uncle and aunt, who were supposed to be my family in place of my parents, sold me to an animal!”

Everyone was stunned to hear such opinionated words from a frail and timid girl. But what shocked them most was the revelation that I had been sold as a slave in this day and world.

“What is she talking about?” someone from the crowd murmured.

“Isn’t her cousin standing right there?” Mark, one of Xavier’s friends, stepped forward slightly, confusion written all over his face. His gaze moved toward June. “June… is it true? Your parents sold her to someone? In this day and time?”

All eyes turned to June, hearing his words.

Her face went pale, and for a moment, she looked completely frozen.

“I… I…” she stammered, her lips parting as if searching for an answer but couldn’t find one.

I could see the panic in her eyes.

And before the silence could grow any worse, I quickly spoke up.

“She…” My voice trembled slightly as I wiped the tears from my cheeks. “She was just a kid at that time just like me. She didn’t understand what was happening.”

I forced a faint, weak smile, lowering my gaze as if the memories were too painful to face.

“But were you really sold?” Someone asked again.

I swallowed the lump in my throat at his question.

“Yes… I was sold,” I admitted, my fingers tightening slightly around the fabric of my dress. “But we were children back then. We had no control over the decisions adults made.”

My voice softened further.

“June never hurt me. She… she helped me whenever she could.”

I glanced at her briefly, giving her a small nod as if reassuring her.

“There’s no need to blame her for something that happened so long ago.”

They all started muttering again, shaking their heads, and sighing.

“How can someone be this naïve?”

“She’s too forgiving…”

“She doesn’t even realize what happened to her.”

I heard the whispers, the way their gazes softened when they looked at me, and their suspicious eyes drifted away from June.

Slowly, I lifted my eyes and looked at Xavier.

“Young Master Xavier…” My voice came out quiet as I glanced once at the crowd and then back at him. “It’s not that I don’t like you.”

I paused. I wanted to say that I deeply loathed him.

“But… I am still a slave,” I continued softly. “If I married you, people would only think I’m trying to take advantage of you… using you to escape my misery.”

The hall grew silent.

I lowered my gaze, forcing my voice to remain steady even though my chest felt tight from hatred.

“I know you would do your best to help me get free from his clutches, but you are still just a young master,” I added slowly. “But even if you were able to… then… people wouldn’t see your kindness.”

“They would only see me as an opportunist.”

My fingers tightened slightly as I reached for his hand, holding it gently.

“And they would call you a fool for trusting someone like me.”

For a moment, I looked straight into his eyes.

“I know your love for me is pure,” I said quietly. “But even if you come from a powerful family… You alone can’t change the way the world looks at me.”

My chest burned as I released his hand. That was the last thing I could bear.

I turned around abruptly and ran out of the hall.

The cold air outside hit my face as I rushed forward, my breath coming out unevenly. My heart was pounding wildly in my chest.

My hand kept rubbing against my palm, the same hand that had just touched Xavier’s.

As if I could wipe away the feeling and erase everything.

My vision blurred with tears as I ran blindly across the road.

I didn’t even notice the loud screech of tires or the bright headlights rushing toward me.

And then—

Bam.

Glimpses Of The PastAlessandro's POVThe way Adira looked at me with confusion made a dull throb behind my temples sharpen into a blinding ache. I staggered back, the intensity of the pressure forcing my hand to my head."What happened to you?" her voice drifted toward me, laced with a genuine concern that felt entirely misplaced given I had just broken into her room.I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to force back the static, but a strange image tore through my mind: Adira, her face streaked with tears, sobbing in front of me in a place I didn't recognize. It wasn't just a stray glimpse for no reason. For the last three nights, this woman had haunted my sleep in a cycle of vivid, suffocating dreams. That was the real reason I had been hunting for her, not out of some sudden burst of chivalry, but because her face was burned into my subconscious like a memory I shouldn't remember.I had spent my life harboring a cold disdain for Omegas. It wasn't just their perceived weakness; it was t

There Was Nothing To SeeAdira's POVThe elevator doors chimed and slid open. Alessandro stepped out first.A relief washed over me, but it was quickly eclipsed by a gnawing anxiety. Had he already found out that I’d been trying to cut Xavier out of my life?It seemed impossible. Xavier had always treated Alessandro with a vitriol that bordered on obsession; there was no world where they shared casual updates.Lost in the labyrinth of my own thoughts, I didn't realise Alessandro had stopped. I walked straight into his back, the impact against his solid frame jarring me to my senses.A small whimper escaped my throat before I could catch it. I immediately bit my lip, bracing myself as he turned around to face me."Sorry," I murmured, staring at the intricate pattern of the carpeted hallway rather than meeting his gaze."This is your room for tonight," Alessandro said. I watched from the corner of my eye as he took a gold-trimmed keycard from his Beta.I reached out, my fingers brushing

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   You're My Nephew's Mate

You're My Nephew's MateAdira's POVI never expected Alessandro to be the one to step out of the shadows. A crack of lightning split the sky, the flash reflecting off the glass of a distant high-rise and illuminating the narrow alleyway just as he signalled his beta to move.I braced myself for a bloodbath, but the violence never came. His Beta didn't even need to shift; a single growl of a warning was enough to send those wolves scattering like rats into the darkness. The downpour intensified, the freezing rain soaking through my clothes until I was shivering violently. "Th-thank you," I managed to stammer. It was surreal. In my past life, I was the one who pressed the poison to this man’s lips; today, he was the only reason I wasn't dead in the hands of those wolves.I turned to leave, wanting to put distance between us before my past caught up with my tongue, but his voice stopped me cold."It’s late, and the storm isn't breaking," Alessandro said, his tone carrying the effortless

Do You Know Me?Alessandro’s POV“Is this all?” I asked, my gaze fixed on my beta, Mason, as he finished briefing me on the matter. The night air was still, but my mind was not, as I took in every piece of information and every consequence that could come after this.“Yes, Alpha,” Mason answered respectfully, though the worry in his face did not fade even after he lowered his head.“But what will the leader do if he finds out you are doing something like this behind his back?” he asked, in a careful tone.“I’m not doing anything illegal,” I replied as I rose to my feet, straightening slowly while a quiet coldness settled over my expression.“He is too kind to his own world, and if I do not step in, one day he will be swallowed whole by the people standing around him pretending to be loyal.”Mason looked at me for a moment before something softer crossed his face. “I’m really glad,” he said. “You are finally trying to make things better with your father…” His words were barely finished

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   A Predator

A PredatorAdira’s POVI was dragged to Xavier’s apartment. The same place, once, I had dreamed of making my home and living here with him forever, but back then, I had been too blind to notice the things scattered around that clearly belonged to June.“Oh, forgive me,” June quickly said as she started picking up her things, trying to look all innocent. “I had nowhere to go, so I stayed here while Xavier went to his house last night,” she explained. But I did not even bother looking at her. I walked past them and sat on the couch as disgust churned inside me, so hard that it almost made my skin crawl.I knew exactly what they had been doing behind my back. This place, which I had once foolishly looked at with hope, now felt filthy to me, and even staying for a second here felt suffocating.“Are you alright?” Xavier did not even bother explaining June’s presence before coming to sit beside me, but I shifted away from him a little.“I…” I started, forcing my voice to stay low and contro

  • Her Revenge, Her Fated Alpha   Freedom!?

Adira's POV"Xavier, you truly needn't reprimand Sir Derek on my account," I murmured, trying to act as fragile as I could.I shifted my weight, carefully tilting my head so the harsh light of the living room caught the darkening bruise on my cheek. "A slave’s life is defined by such weight. It is a familiarity I have long since accepted."I watched the muscle in Xavier’s jaw reset. The predatory stillness in his posture told me he was hooked."You are my mate, Adira," he declared, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the floorboards. "The era of your servitude ended the moment I found you. Within these walls, you will never be a slave again.""She was purchased for this household; she is our property," Malinda countered. Her voice was sharp, cutting through the air like a blade.Xavier didn't just speak; he growled. It was a visceral, animalistic sound that made the air feel heavy around us.He stepped forward, his fangs catching the light as a warning of the power he held."Y
