CHAPTER 2

WHILE they are walking, Amore is thinking of a way to get away from her uncle. She knows that it’s seems impossible due to tight security and secluded place they are in, but she have to do something in order for her to be free. It’s do or die for her. Because she’d rather be dead than being with someone whom she knows that she will experience another hell again.

They made it out of the house, and again for many months has passed, Amore got to see the outside world again. But before she can even feast on the surroundings, her uncle shoved her inside the car. There was two other men at the backseat, and Amore was seated beside the driver’s seat whom her uncle is now sitting who started the car immediately and started driving.

“Boss, don’t forget about my share, okay?” one of the men at the backseat said.

“Of course, we will have ours too,” the other man commented and laugh.

“Shut up, you two. I don’t want any noise while I am driving,” her uncle sneered. The two men obliged to his command and kept silent.

As the times goes by, Amore didn’t notice that she have fallen asleep. She was just woken up by a heavy tap on left cheek.

“Wake up, Amore. Get off the car now,” her uncle said.

Amore’s eyes flutters as it’s still adjusting to the surrounding. Shortly, her eyes roamed around and just saw trees everywhere. They are like in the middle of an isolated road to a small town.

"Looks like we came here early," one of the men said.

“That doesn’t matter. Just watch this brat closely and don’t let her get away if you don’t want to get your head rolled off the ground. I’m just going to take a pee,” her uncle said and gave her a warning look before he goes somewhere to do his business.

Amore watched the two men who’s eyeing her up. One of them got a stick of cigarettes and a lighter.

“Give me one too,” the other man said. Now they are trying to light up the cigarette but it’s too windy in the direction they are facing; where Amore is standing. And just no brainer they are, they turn their back on Amore to shield the wind from making the lighter lit off.

And that’s the time, Amore is waiting for. She spotted the gun that is tucked on one of the man’s waist. She quickly took it from there. Amore doesn’t know how to use a gun, but she’s between life and death, so might as well do something for her to make a move.

Before the two men can react, Amore immediately shoot each of their knees. The two cried out of pain and slouched to the ground.

Amore’s hands are trembling as she faces the gun on the two of them.

"Don't come any closer,” said Amara as she slowly took a step back.

"You f*cking b*tch!" one of the man shouted as they are still writing in pain.

Without any thought, Amore shoot one of their legs again. And after that, she spotted her uncle walking so fast towards their direction. Amore pointed her gun to her uncle’s direction and tried to shoot, but then there are no bullets left for her to fire.

“Amore!” her uncle’s voice roared and that’s a go signal for Amore to run away as fast as she could without looking back. She’s afraid that all her efforts will go in vain, so she run and and run until she can’t feel her legs anymore.

Her tears started running from her eyes down to her face as she felt the wind slap on her skin. And just a moment later, she felt something hit on her shoulder. It feels warm and it hurts.

She cupped her shoulder as she keeps on running and she felt a gushing warm liquid from there. She brought her hand in front of her and her eyes widened when she saw a red liquid on her fingers—blood.

“Amore! Stop making things hard for you! You won’t get away from me!” Amore heard her uncle shout. But instead of stopping, she run even more . She needs to get away, this is her only chance now.

Amore heard several gun shots but all of it didn’t hit her, so she continued on running inside the thick forest. She didn’t mind the pain she’s now feeling on her shoulder from the gun wound. She just run and run until she’s gone far away from her uncle’s sight.

Until she heard a car honks not far away from where she is. She noticed that the trees are now getting fewer and she’s now on some meadow. Not too long, she sighted an establishment just across from where she is.

She doesn’t know if what type of establishment it is. But she doesn’t care about it. All she wants is to get in there and ask for help. So, she made her way through the road and reach the establishment. And just then she notice that it was a restaurant.

The people she’s walks by are all looking at her like she’s some sort of crazy woman running from something. And so, she’s now hesitating to ask for help from them. They look like they are not willing to help even if there’s a dying person looking for help and so she remained looking for a place to hide.

As she roam her eyes on the place, she saw a car from a far that is going on the restaurant’s direction. And Amore couldn’t make a mistake… that’s the car that his uncle is using!

Now, she have no choice. She really needs to hide now! And that’s when Amore heard a car’s sound of when it’s been unlocked by its owner. It was from the car beside her. An idea came through her mind, and she have no other choice now.

She immediately opened the door of the back seat of the car that was just unlocked. Amore hides in the backseat and tries her best not to make any more movement as she’s sure that the owner is somewhat near.

And just a minute, the door in the driver’s seat opened. The car engine started and that’s just like a music to Amore’s ear. Because that just means that she can now get away from the place, away from her uncle.

And now that she have relaxed a bit at the backseat, she remembered the gunwound she received on her shoulder. Because of the adrenaline earlier, she endured the pain and made herself felt numb. But now, she can feel the panging pain from her shoulder. And she’s sure that she has lost a lot of blood now.

In just a minute, Amore felt her eyelids getting heavy as her vision starts on spinning. And just a moment after, her system was devoured by darkness.
