A nondescript room in the Still Moon Pack

The door opened, and a young female shifter walked into the room, then turned to say goodbye to the others at the door.

“I wouldn’t be long. Meet you guys downstairs in 30 minutes,” are delicate voice sounded as she told the other female shifters.

She entered the room with an innocent smile, closing the door behind her after giving her company a cheerful wave.

The door slid shut with a click, and the smile was gone from her face. In its place was a malevolent gaze so chilling that the room was devoid of all warmth.

A broad mirror, placed just to her right, reflected her gaze, which could make the hairs on anyone’s neck stand erect.

She turned and surveyed the room, examining each of its contents like seeing it for the first time.

The room had moderately mismatched furniture that looked worn. The plump couch had a little nip by the side, like it had been repeatedly scratched with a sharp object and a little foam was poking out of the hole.

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Draco’s Speech

Sera’s POV“Sera? What’s wrong?” Millie asked, her concern reflected in her tone.I snapped out of my daze to find Draco and the rest staring at me with a look of confusion, and I realized that I’d remained standing in my daze while the entire pack watched. With a painful smile as bitter as a grimace and a distracted wave to deflect the pack from my state, I took my seat just as the applause died down.Once I was seated and Millie took over, Draco placed his hand on my trembling hands, and I turned to him, finding reassurance in his eyes.I hadn’t even noticed that my hands were shaky until that moment. It made me realize how much that venomous gaze had unsettled me.“You are safe with me, Sera. Trust me,” he said, and only after watching his lips remain unmoving did I realize that my mate had used the mind link. The rest of the team watched me with their confusion still etched in their features, Seb and Bruno especially.I only hoped they didn’t think me a weak mate for their beloved

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Malice

Sera’s POVOnce the applause had died down and Draco had taken his seat, everyone turned to the dish before them. The dish was displayed, and a tantalizing aroma filled the hall.Everyone appeared pleased by what was on their plate, and I saw Cindy and Freya let out sighs of relief at the end of the table.I turned to my dish with an amused smile.Breakfast was ground turkey pasta, and some freshly squeezed fruit juice, and I dived into my meal with much gusto.Silence fell over the hall, and only the clinking of cutlery on dishes broke the quiet as everyone ate.Cindy and the others stood and began clearing the dishes once everyone was done with their meal. The chatter returned as the pack members, now filled with good food, regained their vigor and began discussing the first pack meeting to be held today as a new pack. The hall gradually emptied as everyone moved to the meeting hall and I wondered if it would fit the entire pack.Millie came over to my side as I watched Cindy, Freya

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   An Unnamed Pack

Sera’s POV“The alphas are here,” a voice came from the crowd in the dining area, once Draco and I appeared through the doorway. I had left the room with my mate trailing behind me, only for me to discover that the pack I knew no longer existed. The Still Moon Pack had disappeared and was replaced by this new pack. A pack which was still unnamed and felt so foreign to me I didn't know what to do with it.I glanced around the hallway just beyond the room, and the sea of unfamiliar faces that greeted me almost made me dizzy. The hallway, which was usually serene, was filled with people hanging around each corner, and I noted a few familiar faces in the sea of unfamiliar faces. The members of the Still Moon Pack who were never in the pack were all home today. And judging by the look of excitement on their faces as they chatted with the new pack members, they were more excited by the prospect of filling up the pack than the protection which came with the merger.“Alpha Draco, Alpha Sera

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Before the meeting

Sera’s POV“Morning, sunshine. We have a meeting to attend.”Draco’s voice came from my bedside just as I opened my eyes, my sleep interrupted by the jarring rays of light which streamed in through the terrace.I noted that the curtains to the terrace, which I remembered closing the night before, were wide open and turned to Draco with an accusing gaze.“Explain to me again why we have to share my bedroom!” I exclaimed for the 100th time since yesterday, my brows raised to my hairline.I’d woken up to find Draco in my room, arranging his stuff that his pack had brought along with them on their way to the pack. I hadn’t realised the gravity of that until night had fallen and my mate had refused to turn in for the night and exit my room, giving me the privacy I needed after spending the entire day with him breathing down my neck.Only for Millie to inform me that every single member of the pack had to share their space, and there was no other option.I let out a sigh in defeat. Now, he

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   New Beginning

Sera’s POVThe sudden kiss left me in a daze and I didn’t react for a while, standing there frozen as the familiar electric trill went up my arms from where Draco held me.He deepened the kiss, and I closed my eyes involuntarily as he plundered my lips, demanding even deeper access, which I granted, distracted by the overwhelming intensity of our contact. Our tongues collided and began a unique dance of their own as they intertwined tightly. We only parted when I couldn’t breathe any longer and I panted heavily, my chest heaving as I stared at Draco’s lips, placing a hand on my lips, in shock at the kiss.Aside from that fateful day we’d gotten mated, this was the first time we’d gotten anywhere close to intimate, and the first time we shared a kiss. The events of that day remained a blur to me and the kiss was the only act of intimacy of which I was fully aware and it felt magical.I’d made out with Dylan, my fated mate, a few times, but it had never felt this overpowering to the sen

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Amelia’s Death (2)

Sera’s POV “Who’s she?” I asked once again as Draco remained silent, lost in thoughts. I turned to the boy, Theo, and he gave me an apologetic look, embarrassed at his slip-up. Draco was my second-chance mate, and I’d always known that he too once had a fated mate, but I was never really curious to know the story behind it as I never intended to honor the mate bond. But now things are different. If we were going to move forward as a pack and as mates, I think it’d be right to know. I turned back to Draco and stared at him, determined to get the story out of him. Draco let out a defeated sigh and turned to Theo, who was now shaking in his seat at the tension which filled the room. “Theo, you may take your leave now. I’d tell Seb to send for you again later,” he said, glancing at Theo. “Uncle Draco…” Theo started, glancing worriedly at us both. He stood and went to Draco’s side, trying but failing to whisper, “Did I cause any sort of trouble?” “No, boy. We just nee

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Amelia’s Death

Draco’s POV“Come in,” I said, as I stood, turning around to watch the door, my voice layered in frost. The door opened to reveal Grace leading in other female shifters, carrying my personal effects and clothes into the room. They quickly filed into the room, filling up the space with a riot of scents from various shifters and checking up my nostrils. The space which I considered an intimate space for me and my mate quickly became clustered and I frowned in annoyance.Grace asked as she glanced at me, “Alpha Draco, where should we place your things?”“Just put them on the couch and the bed. Put the heavier ones on the floor. I’d sort them myself,” I said, impatient to be rid of them quickly.“Alright, Alpha,” Grace said, throwing curious glances at the washroom where the sound of a running shower was obvious.“Excuse us,” Grace said, as she turned around to usher the other shifters out of the room after they’d dropped off my things as instructed. She had an excited look on her face an

  • Her Second Chance Alpha   Sera Wakes

Draco’s POV“Draco?”Once it was lunchtime, Daphne took the twins away to eat. I hadn’t eaten all day, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave my mate all alone for even a minute.Besides, I had no appetite to speak of while Sera lay there immobile and lost in the dreamland. I sat by the bedside, just watching my mate’s serene face for a while, with no idea when she’d wake.Various thoughts ran riot in my head as I feared for the worst. I’d dozed off without knowing when the familiar, now raspy from the long sleep, sounded like it was from a mile away. The persistent voice forced me to regain consciousness to make it stop.“Draco!”I opened my eyes and glanced around Sera’s large, feminine room, only to find her watching me curiously with her eyes open.Eyes open? Sera’s awake!“Draco, what are you doing here? Why are you sleeping on that uncomfortable couch when you have a perfectly fine bed in your room?” Sera asked with a bewildered look.“Well, I thought I’d crash here since I don’t
