Chapter 7

After the kiss, I was pretty much awake, and I sat up while we continued eating and watching the movie. At some point, I became totally invested in the movie. And it was all his fault.

Some couples began to leave even before the movie ended, and finally, around 12 a.m., the movie finally came to a close. When I looked at all the food we brought, we had already cleared the plates—no surprise there. Werewolves are known to be hearty eaters.

We lay on the mat for a while, watching the moon as it shone down on us. I was in his arms, and I have never felt so safe and secured. I was content to be like this forever. No work, no Alpha position—just me and my mate, enjoying the moment.

But like all good things, it must come to an end, and so does this one. I felt a kiss on my forehead, and I smiled, closing my eyes as I savored this feeling between us. "We have to go now, love, or everyone would be wondering where their Alpha went to." He spoke softly into my ears so he wouldn't spook me.
