Chapter 6

We were cycling across town, and I was currently loving every bit of it; it is a good experience to feel the wind in your face. Our first stop was at a local store in town, and he found a good spot and packed.

I had a hard time getting down from the bicycle because of my dress, but I was able to make it work, and I got down. I glanced around the place; I don't really travel to this part of town, and I was slightly out of place. I was the only one wearing a fancy dress; I even had makeup on.

Everyone was wearing something simple, and some even had flip flops on. I hope this isn't where we are going on our date, because I think Vincent would be the first mate to be walked out on while on a date. The only saving grace was that it was dark.

I swore—in my mind, of course. He should have informed me of the venue before inviting me out. Note to self: always ask for the venue before going on a date. A hand on my helmet disrupted my thought; I had even forgotten I had it on. I stood still while he removed my helmet, and his stormy grey eyes were staring at me.

"You look beautiful." He whispered, and the most surprising thing happened. I blushed.

You heard it right: I, Alpha Jasmine, blush. I felt wet lips pressing on my cheeks, but they were gone before I could process them. "Shall we?" He asked before taking my hands and leading me inside while I was still stunned.

I followed him blindly, still lost for words. He had kissed me, even though it was just a peck on my cheek. A kiss was still a kiss. While I was ruminating on my first kiss—by a non-family member—he was moving around the store, grabbing things we could need for... I had no idea.

That day, I learned that my mate could be very meticulous. He was going over each item carefully, reading out its ingredients to make sure it was okay with me. He also made sure they weren't past their expiration date and that they were actually safe to consume. I must admit, I found it cute that he cared about such things. I guess he forgot we were werewolves and that we don’t have allergies or get food poisoning.

He finished grabbing all he needed, and I let out a sigh of relief. Finally. We could go back to his house and eat them, because that was the only logical reason I could think of.

We climbed on to the bicycle, and he started cycling back, but it wasn't towards the pack. It was going in another direction, and a little part of me began to feel worried. He stopped his bicycle a few meters from where people were, and we got down and began to trek.

As we ventured further, I began to see people, mostly couples, lying on the floor on a picnic mat, and all their focus was on the big screen in front. Judging from what I saw, I guess it was a cinema.

We got a nice spot that was a little far from others, and I actually like it. Our kind have great eyesight, so I didn't have to worry about not seeing the screen. He removed a mat from the bundle he had been carrying and laid it on the floor.

I sat down on my mat and watched as he arranged all the items he had bought on the floor. He neatly arranged the plate of fish and chips, bowls of ice cream, and cookies. I was already salivating when I saw the cookies. I had a sweet tooth, and it didn't help that it was my favorite—chocolate.

He chuckled as he saw me eyeing the cookie, and he handed one to me. "You can eat as you want. They are for us." I nodded my thanks and tore open the pack. I grabbed a piece and munched on it, moaning as the crunchy and creamy goddess filled my mouth.

I heard a low rumble beside me, and I turned to look at the owner. Vincent’s eyes were on me, stripping me bare with his gaze, and I suddenly forgot how to swallow food. The electricity between us was enough to power a house, and I found myself leaning unconsciously toward the source.

We were just a breath away from each other; if I leaned close enough, our lips would meet. I watched eerily as his mouth parted to exhale, and I bit my lips. Before I could react any further, he closed the distance and connected his lips to mine.

And he kissed me.

His lips were warm and soft, and his scent was overwhelming me and making my head spin. The butterflies were doing their happy dance in my stomach, and his warmth consumed me as I leaned into the kiss. Vincent’s lips felt impossibly soft against my own, and they parted slightly, allowing my tongue to slip inside.

My hands reached out and grabbed onto his neck to stabilize me, and his hands slipped from my neck, his fingers gripping my hair. And I moaned at the pressure, and he responded with a groan of his own before delving into my lips again.

His hand crept to my waist, and his chest was pressed against mine; they were like warm embers, igniting a fire from within me. Finally, he pulled away slowly, and I groaned softly as I kept my eyes clenched shut for a moment afterward, not wanting to wake up from this dream he’d brought to life and savoring the moment.

The last thing I wanted was for him to pull away, but sadly, all good things must come to an end, and his hands let go of my waist. Time stopped as I struggled to come to terms with this dizzying, swaying world. How could I have missed out all this time?

I opened my eyes, and his stormy gray eyes were looking at me, the love evident in them. I cleared my throat, trying to distract him, and thankfully, he got the drill. He went back to arranging the food while I tried to catch my breath.

Holy fuck, that was hot! I tried to use my hands to fan myself.

I went back to munching my cookies while I ate the ice cream. I don't know who told him I love chocolate, because all the ice cream tubs were filled with chocolate.

"Alright, all set and done." He said as he finished laying out all the food. He handed me a plate that contained fish and chips with a side of burger. "Dig in." I received it with thanks and watched as he made a similar plate for himself.

He settled down beside me, his body in close contact with mine, and started eating. "Hmm." He moaned as he bit into his burger, and the sound he was making shot up to my body. "This is so good." He pointed to the burger, and I nodded. It was really good. "The movie is starting." He pointed out, and I followed his hands to the big screen he was pointing at.

And true to his words, the large screen came alive, its light making the whole place bright, and I could see couples huddled together, smooching, and just generally being lovey-dovey.

I glanced at the man beside me; his jaw was working the food into bits and his gaze was fixed entirely on the screen. Now looking closely, I could see that he had no beard, and his chin was smooth, giving him that cute appearance.

I was tempted to lean closer and cuddle into his side, but I didn't want to seem forward. I sat still and focused on the appetizing burger in my hand. I startled as his arm drew me close, tucking me into his side. I looked at him sharply, and he smiled before continuing to watch the movie.

I settled in well before I also fixed my gaze on the movie. It was a poor adaptation of a high school romance movie. Honestly, it was dumb and way predictable, but Vincent seems to enjoy it, so I had to play along. I wasn't going to ruin this moment.

Besides, hearing his giggle whenever a funny scene played out was like music to my ears. I got tired of the movie and decided to turn my attention to my mate. If he noticed me staring at him, he didn't say anything. He simply cuddled me closer, his eyes never leaving the screen.

I watched him, taking note of the way his brows shot up when there was tension or the way he would cease breathing when there was suspense. He was amusing to watch, and he looked beautiful under the moonlight.

Feeling happy and content with the way things were, I leaned on his shoulder and decided to occupy myself with the movie. He brought out a blanket as the air began to feel chilly and draped it around us.

"You can sleep if you want to; I will watch over you." He whispered in my ear, and I shivered as his words sent a spark through my body. I didn't need further permission; I laid my head on his thigh and dozed off, enveloped in his scent. It was a short sleep, but the most peaceful I had ever had.

I could feel eyes boring into my skin, and I didn't need a soothsayer to know that it was my mate. I tried to hold my breath as long as possible, wanting to see what he would do. I felt his hands on my face, placing a feathering touch on me.

I felt his breath on my face before his lips came crashing down on my lips. He was going to leave, but I couldn't let this opportunity go.

I grabbed his hair to hold him still, and I kissed him.

Sannelle

Wow(fan self) that was some kiss. I think she may be falling for Vincent, or what do you think? As usual, don't forget to forget and leave a comment. Sannelle.
