To my utmost surprise, when I turned there was no one.
Smartass huh? I like it. I loosened my balled fist. I couldn't have been hallucinating. Whoever it is, I won't let them get away next time.
I almost thought it was my imagination at work when I started walking again but all that I heard was my footsteps. It was a silent night.
