Chapter Three

"Please save your pathetic tears for the press, you would need it, we made a deal, I help you become a big shot in the entertainment industry as an Appreciation for saving my niece from that truck but you were the one who chose to see this all as a relationship" Axel stated looking annoyed, his jaw set on hard, I gasp in disbelief, a deal?, theses humans are so dispeakable, faking a relationship  just to please the public?  What would people not do for a couple thousands of dollars.

"Yes I know it was all a contract relationship, but within these 6 months, I felt helplessly  in love with you and you can't tell me you didn't feel that same spark"

"No, I never  did" The lady mouth fell open and her eyes were in shock.

She hadn't expected such words for him.  I knew Axel was a jerk but I never knew he was this heartless. I decided to move closer and peeked at them, to clearly see what was happening. When I looked up I was utterly shocked, isn't that  'Amy Judith' the famous swim suit model and the country's best actress. Why would any sign a contract to a fake relationship and be here begging this douchebag to take her back.

Amy was the most popular model in the country, she was known to be the face of so many fashion empires, she was even rumored to be dating Anthony Erico, the CEO of the biggest business in the entertainment industry. I don't still know why she would stoop so low to begging him, while I don't blame her, Axel Tyler was classified as the most eligible bachelor, he has been ranked twice as number one on the list of the men women loved to bang and date.

"I hate you Axel Ryker" Amy shouted then stormed towards a red car then drove off. When Amy's  car was gone and out if sight, I  waited for Axel to get Into his own car before stepping outside of my hiding spot.

When I got home, it was about 9pm, I saw cassie by the fire place,dressed in only a night robe and a glass of white wine in her hand.

"Why do you look so happy" I asked as I sat beside her pouring myself a glass of white wine.

"Kaitlyn, my wonderful best friend" Cassie said looking away from the magazine she was reading.

"Now I know something definitely must have happened" I eyed her suspiciously.

"I knew your brother was an amazing alpha, but I never knew he was most amazing in bed" cassie said happily

"Gosh the was he ripped my pajamas..."

"Too much information Cas.." I said with disgust

"Oh shut it, be thankful that I'm not getting into details of how he trailed kisses down my neck an... "

"Ok, now I'm heading to my room" I picked up my bag and headed for the grand stairs, the last thing I needed to hear was how my brother and best friend made love and decided they had planned to make pups.

I got to my room and immediately stripped out of office wear and headed to the bathroom.  I filled the bathtub with hot water with a ray of scented products. The bath steamed with bubbles on top of the water. I slipped into the huge hot tub, I felt my body relaxing as I immediately slipped into the water. I closed my eyes and rested against the rim. I got out of the shower and got into a baggy shirt, then walked out to the kitchen to get a snack, in the fridge there were 2 large pizzas, then took a pack with a cup of smoothie. I put my dying phone on charge in the kitchen as I waited for the pizza to get warm. Cassie was no where to be found as I walked to the living room and sat on the comfy couch, Watching one of my favorite telenovella series "passion for revenge", just because I couldn't experience love didn't mean I can't watch people who get to experience it,even though it's all acting. I ate my pizza and smoothies as I finished the last if the series.

Afterwards, I threw the takeout container in the trash with the smoothie cup, i walked to my room and headed straight to the bathroom to have a long well deserving shower. I washed off and got dressed into my pyjamas. I threw my hair up into a bun after it dried and put my phone underneath my pillow, i turned off the lights and climbed into bed, and drifted off into sleep.

It was 8:30am in the morning, just a few minutes before my alarm would have gone off,  I woke up with a jerk, my phone buzzing, I extended my hand reluctantly, it was Dona's number.

"What does she want now" I clicked my tongue and got up, I picked up the call and asked Dona without greeting,

"What's it that you had to wake me up so early"

"Are you crazy?" Dona whispered "the boss is so mad at you for not Co... "

I interrupted midway "What are you saying,  I don't have to be at the office till afternoon"

"You just proved to me that you are clearly dumb, you are the acting secretary now, all that Judith did is now your responsibility, so according to Judith's calendar, you had a meeting  to be in 5 minutes ago, so get off your bed and get your ass to the office noww!!" the call abruptly ended.

I dismounted the bed hasty and ran out of the room without even brushing my teeth. I threw on some clothes before heading outside. I picked up my phone and tossed it inside my bag. After getting outside, I hopped into the car that was bought for me by my dad on my 15th birthday, since I always struggled with buses, taxes and trains just to be on time. I drove off and got a cup of coffee to ease the pain of my stupid migraine.

I hurried to the office, I smiled as I passed by the two guards at the entrance then headed up the elevator to the 11th floor. I threw my bag on the couch in my office before knocking on Axel's office door. I checked  the time it was 9:30. Oh I'm so dead today.

"Come in" he said really annoyed.

"Aries" he called out, he was seated in the sofa, typing on his laptop. I took the place opposite to him, silence filled the atmosphere

"Mr Rodriguez is a very important Investor, he is know for investing huge sums of money in business projects, I want a deal with him and I won't  let any other company snatch him from me" the ambition in his voice was loud and clear. He sounded so passionate about it, as anticipated from a Workacholic.

Normal people are addicted to drinking, clubbing, smoking and doing drugs, but Axel seems to be addicted to work. He lives and breathes in business. Axel works for  long hours, he was always serious. All the work he was doing to keep the company going might be affecting his health and mind, no wonder he was always so cranky. Without thinking, I went to sit beside him, raised my hand and placed it on his cheeks, I ran my thumbs under his eyes, I frowned upon thinking of how hard he beats himself  up, it was only when Axel gripped my had,  that I realised what I had done

Axel gripped my hands, he looked down at me frowning, he stood up and walked towards the door

"Miss Greene, please change your outfit before coming to the board room, it is to inappropriate " then he left the room.

I went to the restroom and looked in the mirror, I was in a hurry that I didn't realise  what I put on,  it was a black transparent  gown, Sophia had  bought this form me during calista's  Bachelorette party, apparently, she wanted me to let lose. I ran to the storage room, to get changed into something better and less slutty, I picked out an emerald green blouse from one of the shelves and white floral pleated skirt. I quickly changed and fixed my makeup, it was already 10:30 when I was done. I went to my office to get the necessary files needed for the meeting, 

I walked briskly to the conference room, I opened the doors calmly and walked inside still holding the files in my hand, every other seat was taken except from one beside Axel, I see Mr Rodriguez sitted with his share holders at other end of the room.

"I'm Michel Rodriguez CEO of Rodriguez Holmes and suites, I'm sure you know me" Mr Rodriguez said

"This is Roma Rodriguez my daughter and business partner" he pointed at the brunette sorted opposite me.

"and that's Mr kyle". I nodded as Axel introduced me and other employees present at the meeting.
