I entered the conference room with an air of confidence and positivity, I need to nail this down this client and get some recognition in this firm.

The clients back was turned to me, talking with some of his colleagues and his shoulders filled out his suit and his hands were in his pockets, I could hear his voice in the midst of the chatter.

Gigi cleared her throat softly and said

“Mr Prescott, miss Monroe is here

He turned at the sound of my name and my heart stopped

Good God

He was so much stunning in person, sharp jawline, neatly trimmed beards, deep gray eyes, that seemed to be thinking all the time, his hair was dark and slightly tousled, like he had his hand ran through it many times , he looked powerful, dangerous and intimidating.

For a spilt second he looked at me intensely, like he was memorizing every detail of me, thoes gray eyes dragged from my curls down to my lips and to my feet, I silently cursed why I didn’t dress up today, I was in a beige turtle neck and white corporate pants.

Say something.

I stepped foward, extending my hands

“Good morning. Mr Prescott, I’m Amelia Monroe, I’ll be handling your account and investments restructuring”

His hands slid into mine, warm, firm and confident. The moment our skin touched, a current shot through me, hot and electric, his eyes flickered, like he felt it too. But his expression remained composed.

“Amelia” he said, his voice deep and commanding. “A pleasure, I was told I was meeting with Dawn Harper today”

I held his gaze refusing to be intimated

“Ms Harper is unavailable and has matters of urgency to attend to, but I assure you, you’re in capable hands”

One corner of his lips not quite a smile but more of a challenge.

“Is that right?”

The tension between us stretched tight like a wire, I cleared my throat, dropping his hand reluctantly.

“Shall we begin”

He gestured for me to sit, watching me as I walked around the table. His stare was heavy, almost physical like warm fingertips trailing down my spine. I opened the digital file on my tablet, trying to ignore the way my pulse.

“I’ve reviewed your company’s financial history,” I said, keeping my voice steady. “And I think I have a strategy that will maximize returns on your international investments.”

He leaned forward, forearms resting on the table, his scent clean, expensive, intoxicating wrapping around me.

“Impressive,” he said softly. “Most people in your position don’t come this prepared.”

“I’m not most people,” I replied before I could stop myself.

His gray eyes darkened, the air thickening.

“I can see that.”

My breath lodged in my throat. There was admiration in his voice… and something else. Something dangerous.

Then suddenly he smiled. A devastating, heart-stopping smile.

“I look forward to working with you, Ms. Monroe.”

“Likewise,” I whispered.

At that exact moment, my phone vibrated against the table with a message from Dawn:

Dawn: He’s in your office yet? Did he fall instantly in love? Lol

I swallowed hard, locking my screen before he noticed.

If only she knew.

Because from the way Noah Prescott’s eyes lingered on me, slow and burning, like he was already imagining crossing every professional line

He was absolutely trouble.

And I think I might already be in it.

…..

The meeting stretched on for longer than I expected and Noah asked me intelligent questions, sharp and quick thinking ones and Everytime I spoke he watched me like he was trying to read between my words, like he was studying me not just the numbers.

Whenwe were done, I closed the last document and sat back, exhaling slowly.

“That wraps the proposal. If you approve, we can begin implementation as early as next week.”

Noah tapped a finger thoughtfully against the table.

“I do approve.”

I blinked, surprised. “Really?”

“You came with solutions. I like people who show up prepared.”

I nodded, trying not to let the compliment warm me too much.

He stood, buttoning his suit jacket, and I rose with him. As we shook hands again, his grip lingered a heartbeat too long. His eyes held mine, dark and unreadable.

“Thank you for your time, Mr. Prescott.”

“Noah,” he corrected smoothly. “If we’re going to be working together… use my name.”

My breath caught. Professional lines blurred dangerously.

“Noah,” I said slowly.

And God help me, his name tasted too good on my tongue.

He gave a small smirk, like he noticed.

“I’ll be in touch.”

He walked out, and I sank into a chair once the door closed, running a hand over my face. My heart was still thundering.

What the hell was that?

AmeliaWhen I woke up with a groggy head. The sunlight stretched into my room noting the rise of a new day. A new day indeed I wanted so much to go back to dreamland and never wake to this nightmare, how can all of these be happening at once, a suspension from my very big girl job, my face all over the blogs, like I was a side piece, I read some of them and boy I didn’t know Noah was the city’s boyfriend, women were losing their shits that he was in a relationship again, I didn’t know how to feel, but one thing I was sure about was Noah’s feelings towards me.It’s undeniable that we like each other and the chemistry is insane, he was a beautiful handsome being and all I wanted was to be beside him and under him.I stretched out my arms to touch him but the bed was empty, I raised my head in alarmAnd for a moment, just one second—I felt afraid. Then I saw the look on his face.He was sitting across from me Not angry. Not cold.Just… sharp.Like he had switched from comfort to calcu

  • Her client, His obsession    Chapter sixteen

Noah The moment her lips left mine, she let out the smallest breath—like kissing me had held her together, and stopped threatening to break her again. “You can come work for me you know” I said pulling back from her mouth. She gazed at me smiling from ear to ear, “no Noah, I really love my job at Shelby, it’s one of my accomplishments” Another thing I love about her is her attitude to work, her dedication is out of this world. My poor sweet baby girl, I hated that this happened to her and her job, all because me. I held her face in mine “My PR team is all over it, I’ll find out who did this Amelia, I promise you” “Okay” she whispered, hugging me. I rested my forehead against hers, my thumb sweeping over her cheek, catching the tear she hadn’t realized had fallen. “Hey,” I whispered. “I’ve got you. I’m right here.” Her lashes fluttered, eyes glassy and exhausted. She nodded, but it wasn’t conviction. It was survival. I guided her back against the couch, my hand sliding

  • Her client, His obsession    Chapter fifteen

Amelia I was still reeling from the most amazing weekend I just had, back at work with paperwork from yesterday at my desk. I was trying to get a hang of it when my phone buzzed My phone buzzed and Dawn’s face filled the screen.Perfect. I needed to talk to someone before my brain exploded.I answered.“Dawn, I think I’m losing my mind.”“Girl, you were with the man all weekend. Of course you’re losing your mind,” she said. “Now start talking. Every detail. Start with the beach house and end with the part where he rearranged your organs.”My cheeks burned.“Dawn!”“What? I support women. Now spill.”I sighed, twisting a loose curl.“It was… intense. And sweet. And confusing. And I felt…”“Safe?” she finished softly.I swallowed. “Yeah.”There was a pause before she spoke again.“So, Noah Frost. Billionaire. Gorgeous. Gives you earth-shattering orgasms. The dream guy of half the city. But what about the complication?”I frowned. “What complication?”“His ex-fiancée.”My stomach tight

  • Her client, His obsession    Chapter fourteen

Noah’s POVI was back in my office.Back to reality.Back to work mode.Back to being the man everyone expected me to be—the one with no distractions, no softness, no loose ends. The city skyline stretched endlessly beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows, the late-morning sun shimmering against the glass. It should’ve been calming. It wasn’t. Not today. Not with everything racing through my head.Stans Industries. One of the biggest real estate empires in the country. A company that didn’t just build structures—they built skylines, cities, legacies. And somehow, by some miracle or sheer Prescott-level competence, we still had their contract through our construction company subsidiary. It was the kind of deal that made or broke companies. If we pulled this off flawlessly, we’d be six hundred and fifty million dollars richer.Six. Hundred. And. Fifty. Million.I could not screw this up.Yes I was a billionaire by Forbes standards but father thought me to be a hard worker, didn’t matter how

  • Her client, His obsession    Chapter thirteen

Amelia I woke up slowly,if drifting up from the bottom of a warm ocean. My limbs felt boneless, my body humming with the aftershocks of what Noah and I had done. Every muscle ached in the sweetest way, a reminder of his hands, his mouth, his body against mine.Yes Noah, fuck me My mind reeling back to what had transpired on this bed I was moaning like a dog in heat, I pulled the pillows on my face and squirmed. For a moment, I didn’t open my eyes. I just lay there, breathing him in. His scent—clean, masculine, a little like cedar and salt air—still clung to the sheets. The bed felt too big without him. Too cool. My hand instinctively reached over to where he’d been, fingers brushing over a warm indent in the mattress. He hadn’t been gone long.I blinked my eyes open. The master bedroom was bathed in soft morning light, spilling through the sheer curtains that swayed with the ocean breeze. Everything looked dreamy… hazy… like a scene I wasn’t fully awake for yet.The sheets were a m

  • Her client, His obsession    Chapter twelve

Noah I’d been pacing the front deck of the beach house for the last fifteen minutes like a madman. Pathetic? Maybe. But the truth was simple—I wanted her. Wanted her more than I’d wanted anyone in a long, long time. Amelia had this way of getting under my skin without even trying. The way she smiled, the way she looked at me like I wasn’t “Noah Prescott, billionaire” but just… a man. A man she actually liked. And damn, I liked being liked by her. I checked my phone again. The picture she sent earlier? I had to actually sit down for a second. Her brown swimsuit hugging every curve, her stomach peeking just slightly, her skin glowing— I’d replayed it more times than I’d admit. I just needed time with her today. No work. No board members. No shareholders complaining about numbers. Just Amelia, the ocean, and whatever she’d let me have of her. Then I saw the yacht approaching, gliding across the waves like it was bringing something sacred. I removed my sunglasses, needing to see h
