Chapter 7

Steven’s point of view:

Okay so I am officially confused now, I hold my belly that hit the table she pushed me onto. I know I am nothing but an outcast here, so far all I’ve gotten from these people in the building is the so-called king style haircut, asides that no one even spares me a glance.

“what sup Jane?” I know she is angry, but that don’t mean you have to treat me like a tool, just because you are currently angry.

“are you happy now?” she asks me, I have to turn towards my back to see if someone else is there.

“quit turning Steve I am speaking to you. Are you happy now!” her voice is cracked from raw emotions, its just like she’s painting her emotions for me to see?.

“what do you mean am I happy now, I don’t get you?”

She walks up to me, her bony finger in the air, her eyes tells me how extremely angry she is.

“you know what, just know how ever this marriage goes, you will never live in peace, I will make sure you regret getting into anything with me” with that said she walks out the door and shuts me inside. I literally hear the door make some click sounds. “from one hate to another then” I say as I rest my head on the dusty wall behind me.

I guess I'll have to wait a little before anything good comes to my life. “but what was that she was saying about marriage though?” I feel like at this point I have been sold into something without my knowledge and consent.

“woosh” I release a breath through my mouth. “I am so exhausted”

**

After waiting for close to three hours, the door finally swings open, Shirley stands in front of me within a matter of seconds.

“you really should stop letting trouble accompany you everywhere you go you know?”

I look up at Shirley and force a smile on my face.

“whatever you say Shirley” she looks me in the eyes, and then turning back to the door she calmly closes it and moves closer to me.

She’s always in a jump suit, her hair is always straight, and her face, doesn’t look like she ahs ever aged a bit since after 30.

“you’re getting married to Jane, to stop some certain rumors about this company, and in doing so, you will also be saving her”

“saving her how?” is she ever not in trouble, Jmac has always been in the spotlight since she was old enough to walk.

“after that encounter with the photographer, let’s just say stuff has been going down” she breathes slowly, and then looks at me, her face at this moment speaks tiredness.

“hence the contract, we signed you up, published the fact that we signed you up, got you a house, and a car, secretly published those fact before anything, the talks have reduced but Jane’s aunt just poured some fuel in the fire, and now its blazing hot, affecting workers in this establishment” she puts her hand on my shoulder.

“people are pulling out their shares from the company, and it’s not helping matters at all its just like things are going downhill” she removes her hand from mine again, and huffs.

“we need you guys to act as a couple, let the media people and everyone forget that phase of Sophia being racist, and focus on your married life, your relationship?” she then smiles.

“whatever you call it, I know Jane won’t be happy for a few months or even weeks, but I trust you would make the journey easy for her, she’s a good girl that Jane”

“what do you say to this Steve, I know you aren’t used to people forcing you into something but...” she stops, and then looks at me, like im supposed to fill a blank space

“I don’t Know Shirley” I don’t even have anything I could boast of yet, would want my future wife to be proud of me, I hate being embarrassed Shirley, but I sense more of it coming, and I hate that”

“just do what you can Steve” she gets up again and then on her way to the door she calls my name.

“Steve come on; you are going to be one busy model from henceforth”
