By the time Ryan came up, he found her already asleep. She slept curled on the bed, occupying just one portion of the bed, leaving the other larger part extensively unused. Sitting on his bed, he felt a headache beginning to form. The Victorians were becoming stronger. The presence of a healer had set them on a higher pedestal and now they wanted more. They wanted war. This issues really came at a bad time and he knew that he had to put his priorities right. They could not just keep on letting the Victorians push them around. They had to make a statement of power.
Reducing his clothes to his briefs, he climbed onto the bed and held her in his arms. She was deep asleep, as shown by her soft snores. She turned and hugged him back tightly. This did make him feel important. Like she could actually depend on him. On the other hand, he was surer than ever before that she was the savior, they had all been waiting for. As fate had it, she was meant to be there with them, in this pack. They would just have brave whatever the cost that came with having a savior around. Settling down he joined her to sleep.
She was back in that room, she realized she was not alone anymore, there was someone beside her. whispering her name slowly, faintly. Through the dark, she could feel her talking to her. and then slowly, someone else came up, a man. “Honey, you know that Leila will never be safe with us. The only way for her to survive is if she forgets she is a wolf. We should make sure to clear her mind, so that she can grow well and safely.” The woman said. I know love, we will keep her safe. I think we should also try and have her powers sealed because otherwise, they will bring her trouble in the near future. The main said in a whisper.
Suddenly, she found herself seated right outside her step mothers house, as a little baby, crying out. The couple had been childless for long and on seeing a young baby, they picked her up. She smiled at them. Then there was blood, lots of it like a river flowing, beyond the river, stood a man, dressed in scarlet clothes holding a sword. His face was obscured by something like mist. He then turned to look at her. she saw his eyes. They were blazing like torches of fire. Full of evil. He then raised the hand with the sword and pointed it towards her.
Ryan felt it when she started squirming. Then she started moving as though escaping through something. It was at that point that she stood and sat upright. Breathing deeply and fast. Her eyes glazed as though she was still dreaming. Holding her still close to his chest, he could feel as her heart rate slowed down. She was downright trembling.
“It’s okay love, take a deep breath it’s only a dream, you are safe.” Ryan said as he kept rubbing her back. Taking a deep breath, she finally stopped trembling but she was shaken. What the hell had been that. She had been having the same recurrent dream, but now, there was a change. And the change was scary. Who were those people in her dreams? Were they just dreams, or was there something more to it?
It felt awfully real. The feeling of a bad premonition in her heart on the other hand kept increasing. It was almost as though there was something that was being planned, way bigger than she had ever known. Babe, there is something I need to tell you. I have been having the same recurrent dream for some time. It’s a dream of a younger me. Tonight, it was different. And with it came an extreme sense of fear. Like something bad is about to happen. I know it sounds weird. I do not even understand this myself.”
“What, it’s not weird and I’m glad you trust me enough to talk to me. To be honest, my parents just told me that things are not okay around here. Packs around the world are making moves. Some are moving, but that is not the only scary thing, our adjacent enemies are now provoking us openly because they actually have a healer. A battle is inevitable.” Ryan said he hugged her closer and kissed her head.
“Do you think this could be the reason that I keep having a bad premonition of something to happen.” Leila asked. “I don’t know love, maybe it is. What do you say to staying around here for longer?” Ryan said as he pulled himself from her and dropped a peck on her lips, then hugged her again. Taking a deep breath, Leila sagged against him.” What about work Ryan, you know I just started working.”
“Ha-ha come on, don’t tell me you are worried about work when you are with me.” Ryan said as he turned her and pressed her onto the bed, with him, laying on top of her. he could feel it when her breath increased in tempo. Her heartbeat racing. The air around them was beginning to get heated. She could feel herself growing aroused as he held her, the fear and disorientation that had been on her eyes now replaced with immense excitement.
He traced his finger up her calf, then jumped to her belly. Placing his palm just above her abdomen, he could feel her heat increasing. “Leila, I really want you, more than anything else.” His breath coming out short breathy gasps. “I want to kiss you, sniff you as I enjoy your unique scent. Then I want to cuddle you and make love to you over and over.” He said as he moved his lips to rest on her abdomen, kissing her through the thin fabric.
Leila woke up nestled in Ryan’s arms, which now felt like steel. She could already feel the chirpings of the birds. And the smell of dawn. Everything felt invigorating. There was so much that was going on, and at a fast pace at that, but she was not scared, she felt liberated. Looking at Ryan who was now sleeping peacefully on the bed, she could not help but blush as she remembered what had gone down the previous night.Heartbeat increasing, she sat up and hid her face on her palms. She could feel his hot breath on her abdomen. Everything that went on last night had her rethinking her relationship with Ryan. The way his golden eyes had captivated her, drawing her into his world. The way he had moved up her body, tasting every part of her as though savoring a delicious dessert. The small kisses that he peppered along her body, making her shiver. Goosebumps developing along the path he trailed as his warm breath met her skin. Every time he had moved his lips from her skin
Ryan watched her as she walked down the aisle towards him. It still felt surreal how a handful of days ago, he had never even met her, but now, she was coming to him. They were to be united under the goddess of love, blessed to carry royalty in their blood. The path was lined with white pillars, on top of which there were vases of flowers. Each vase holding a mix of flowers. They all looked exotic, and he could imagine how carefully they had been sorted. But no matter how exotic they looked; they did not hold a candle to her. No, his Leila looked like an angel dropped from heaven. When he had heard that she was on the aisle, no, it was not heard, when he had felt her scent. His blood had started rushing wildly. Heartbeat increasing with excitement, today she would be his. Then he lifted his eyes slowly, which rested on the hem of her dress. The dress was long enough to cover her feet but the occasional rising of the dress as she walked allowed him to spot the leather sandals
“Hey, wake up Hun, brought you breakfast.” That was the sound Leila woke up to. She had been dead asleep for as long as she could remember. As the soft caresses of his voice entered her ear, she found herself trying to wake up. Her body felt like lead. Like heavyweights had been placed all over her. Leila’s eyes felt sticky as though they had been glued together using the strongest glue there is.Struggling to sit up, she heard herself groan as every part of her body resisted movement. As her eyes finally opened, first into small slits, and as the cold air passed through them, now fully awake. She started recalling. Yesterday had been her wedding day. Indeed, they had gotten married, but things did not go all through as they had expected. She moved her eyes to rest lazily on now her husband Ryan, who looked all fresh and crisp and wondered how it was that he did not feel tired. Yesterday had been so tiring, only being able to get some sleep in the wee
The biggest limiting thing for the current her now was that she could not understand the thoughts of the other members of her pack. Looking around her, she felt her heart thump, as that ominous feeling in her heart kept increasing. It felt as though something terrible would happen to her though she had no idea what. Her mind working clearly in a bid to make clear calculations towards the probability of her killing the healer, she underwent a berserk moment. Where all her thoughts were pulled towards one place. she had sensed a strong killing intent coming from that man that had silently appeared on the other side, at the same time, there was a familiarity that arose from her deepest parts. She could not afford to be sidelined at this moment, and therefore she made a decision that seemed unwise. She would attack everyone there. If she did eventually get to the healer well and good. But one thing she was sure of was that any chance she got, she should kill that man.
They were okay. The whole pack was okay. They then moved amongst the pack, looking at the casualties and thankfully, they weren’t as many as she had expected. Looking back, she couldn’t recall what had happened to the healer, but the Victorians had retreated. This time round, they had paid quite a huge price for the sake of expanding and yet they lost. The injured were collected and moved towards one center of their pack territory. It was at that time that she realized that the pack’s territory had been under heavy guard. They had machineries that protected the place even though they looked old-school. It seemed like even though it was in the twenty first century, the werewolves still preferred the fighting much more physically than using modern technology such as guns and grenades. The rush of adrenaline and the physical fights were much more exciting, besides, in as much they fought, they did not aim at exterminating their races. They were already f
His thoughts were in different places as he thought of what had happened back there. They had lost members of the pack to the attack. Thoughts of how there would be a blood bath once the savior arrived kept filling his mind, and he could not help but feel tensed. However, looking at her lying there, her soft snores filling the room. He knew what he had to do. There were in this together, and since the goddess of love had already foreordained him as the rightful mate to her, then he was capable in that aspect. After drying up, he slipped right under the blankets behind her, and cuddled her. things were okay for as long as they were together. Before long, whether due to accepting the fact that he was married to the savior or because of how tired he had been, he soon followed her into slumberland. In his dreams, he saw her standing there once more, the rain of arrows approaching her from all directions. This time round she was just a normal wolf, she could not stop the arrows as
Pulling away from her, Ryan took the food and started feeding her. “Open your mouth ah” Ryan said as he moved a spoon towards her mouth. Seeing this, she felt like a baby and in an effort to offset the discomfort took the spoon in her hands. Smiling softly, Ryan watched her take the spoon, something he was not prepared to let go. “Come on baby, open your mouth, I want to feed you.” Ryan said as he moved his lips towards hers and in a flurry of actions, she let go of the spoon.Laughing loudly, the two sat in an ambient environment, Ryan feeding her while Leila occasionally opened her mouth to be fed. It felt like they had known each other for ages despite only being in the company of each other for a period less than a year. After the breakfast, Ryan pushed her into the bathroom, where he helped her bath, but it was not just helping, the man was putting her body on edge.Every action, every intake of air felt like an aphrodisiac. Everything push
Getting in the passenger’s seat, Leila could not help but feel giddy. She did not know where Ryan wanted them to go but she was not overly concerned about that. Ryan, on the other hand got into the driver’s seat and started the ignition. Looking at him playfully, Leila thought of asking about where they were going until she could no longer hold back. Smiling coquettish at him, she blinked her eyes, in an effort to look flirtatious though on the contrary she looked silly.Seeing her antics, Ryan released a loud laugh that showed his joy. “So where are we going Hun, would you please tell me,” Leila said still attempting to batt her eyelashes in that unflattering manner, that caused Ryan to smile. Making dovey eyes, she looked so cute and he could not help pinching her chubby cheeks.“Ha-ha relax, I’m just going to kidnap you for a while, how does that sound.” Ryan said as he threw her a wicked flirtatious smile, accompanied by a
