Congratulations Leila, you have the job. That was the statement that got her out of her reverie. She had struggled to concentrate since she got inside. The boss Ryan had looked so handsome that she had had a rough time concentrating on what the interviewees had asked. How she had managed to even talk to them she did not know. But from the moment she had entered that office, she had been awfully aware of Ryan. The way her nipples had tightened at his mere sight, a bolt of desire rushing through her leaving her breathless.
What the hell was wrong with her, it was just a man, or maybe not. He was not human; she could feel him through his body scent. He was like her; she had seen when his eyes had thinned onto tiny golden slits when she got in the office. Looked at her so thoroughly that she had felt empty and naked. She had to get out of that place and quickly. She could not possibly come and work there now. The man had a dangerous aura about him, yet she had been so attracted to him that even now she could still feel desire building within her. This was way too strange, and his scent, goodness! He had to have been the best-smelling man in her entire life. There were no artificial scents masking him, rather it was a fresh musky all-male scent that made her knees go weak. Standing up clumsily, she thanked the interviewers and rose to move, stumbling on her way out. That had to have been the most embarrassing moment of her life.
Moving out of the office, she hailed a cab, even though she knew that walking to her place wouldn’t really tire her out. She was confused, she had searched throughout her teen life for anyone like her but there had been none. That was what had made her move through job opportunities so fast someone would be scared. Everything just happened to move fast such that she found herself doing something she should not have done. The first time, she had gotten into a fight, and ended up knocking a man’s teeth out.
The second job she got was in a café, her work was to serve the people as a waitress. She lost this one because of her extremely sensitive nose. It happened that there had been some things that had gone bad in the hotel and smelt really bad. One sniff and she had come back after a snorting, ending up with a messy nose afterward. Now she just took care to use her wolf abilities as little as best. She knew what people often said about her behind her back and honestly, it was better she did not know.
The traffic home was pretty light and as they moved along the streets of New York, she could not help but shiver. Would she really be able to survive here and what did the presence of another wolf signify for her? Should she even go for that job or just let it. What if that man had answers that could help sate her curiosity? Because she really did feel lost for a pretty long period of time.
At least she knew she was not the only abnormal person on earth, even though it had taken her nearly four years to know that. She got to her place, not so well off and not so badly off, the peeling paint from the rooms looking as awful as the whole exterior. The inside was a different story. Those had to have been one of the cleanest houses she had ever seen. They were in good condition.
Climbing up the stairs, she got to her room, opened the door, and leaned on it while taking deep breaths. She should hook up with Ryan if anything else and maybe he could shed a light on her origins. Looking at her loving parents and knowing that as great as they were not her own parents had hurt too much. At first, she had been weird with her newly acquired skills and her mom had noticed a few discrepancies. And then one day, while she had been unaware, she had seen her change. At that moment, her mom screamed and fainted right on the floor.
They had to sprinkle some cold water on her to get her to rise. Her mom on that day had looked at her as though looking at a strange animal. When she saw her face, she had turned whiter than any flour she had known, nearly fainting again. Thankfully, she had kept in what she had seen and today, they had a pretty close friendship with her parents. They may not have been her biological parents, but they may as well have been. They had been with her through the changes she experienced in high school and even during work. When she had suggested moving out to the big city, they had been heartbroken. Her mom had tried to hide the worry in her eyes but she had seen it all. Heard it all. And God help her she loved them as they were. She would sit and think rationally and then maybe she could make informed decisions.Taking the last scoop of ice cream, Leila moved to the window. This was fate that she had moved to New York and in turn met someone just like her. That proved that
After a quick shower, she moved to have some breakfast, and today she craved her normal food. Fresh meat which she would have and stay full the whole day. After she had prepared herself, she decided to walk down the road to her workplace. The morning walk was something to look forward to because the roads were already starting to have traffic. Walking by the pavement, as the sunlight streamed between the buildings created a sophisticated picture. This could however never compare to the sweetness of forest musk and fresh air that was found in the rural area.Walking faster she got to her destination, the Black company was a king of buildings among those surrounding it. The reflective mirrors made the place look classy and sophisticated. Walking in, she moved to the reception where the receptionist took her to the human resources manager. Mr. James was a middle-aged man of around forty years, with kind eyes. When she saw him, she could not help but question whether he knew that
The rest of the tour was amazing and she found herself actually enjoying everything up to a point she nearly forgot her embarrassing situation in the office. That day, Ryan showed her, her work cubicle where she would be doing most of the work, and she honestly did not get good stares. She was walking with the boss and given how good-looking he was, and the fact that she was just a new employee raised questions. She had written several books and she hoped that this place would at least give her the environment she needed to make an earning for herself. The people there did look welcoming, especially one big lady who was actually youthful and knew how to dress her body well. She had talked to her and her innocence together with her bubbly self made her feel great talking to her. That evening, Ryan drove back with Enoch to go see his parents in Alaska. Alaska had been their perfect home because of the forests occupying that region. Wolfs were creatures of hunting and if
The queen was of course majestic and beautiful in a regal way. Dressed in dark purple, the finest of it all. Her husband, Thapelo, dressed in a dress coat, embroidered beautifully to stop just above his ankles. Inside had silk pants that were of the finest material. It was like stepping right into a Victorian-era world. “Hey dad, hey mom, how are you people.” Ryan said as he moved to kiss her mother on the face and greet his father. His mother stood from the table holding his ears. “You sure do know how to stay away huh, I always say come home soon and then you say you will and weeks go by like that. Today I am going to beat your ass.” That had of course been the norm between the two. The palace servants were already used to it though of course Ryan always pretended that his ear hurt. “Mom stop, you are embarrassing me I’m already grown up,” Ryan said as he held his mom’s hand... “ouch, you will give scars to this handsome son of yours.” She did leave his ear b

Leila walked home after her first day at work, more confused than clarified. She had become someone’s marked mate in an instant without her voluntary reaction. It was almost as though fate was working behind the scenes to bring her and Ryan together. That was definitely bizarre ad the only thing she could do now was wait until Ryan came back with an explanation for what had happened then.Getting inside her house she sat as she thought about how handsome he had been. When she had changed, she been full of too much excitement, his presence made her feel protected. Like with him around, there was nothing to fear. And then of course she wanted to mate with him, more than she had ever wanted to.She had of course grown among humans, some had of course hit on he but at those times, she had felt disgusted when imagining herself being with them. She had even managed to convince herself that she wasn’t meant to know love. Because it seemed as though the people arou
Talking with his parents has always been calming. It was home. After discussing with them what had happened, they had found themselves going back to talk about the savior. Things had been weird and according to his parents, no one had ever marked their partner in adream. In as much as there was much mystery surrounding this, if they did more research, they could of course find out what had happened. That night, Ryan moved out to meet with his pack members. He had missed the thrill of the hunt, giving out instructions as they went stealthily. Fresh prey always tasted the best. Everyone turned from their base and then moved to the woods. Everyone in position, they moved as Ryan mastered the thoughts of everyone in the group. They had to be focused and of the same mind. That had always been their strength.Giving instructions, Enoch just beside him as the beta, they moved forward stealthily before they broke into a run. He could feel the excitement filling his veins as hi
Closing the door behind her as she got into Ryan’s office, she walked towards him and sat. “I’m sorry, what did my assistant do?” Ryan asked as he fixed his potent stare down at her. Clearing her throat, she opened her mouth to talk and as embarrassing as it was, she had to speak twice to be audible. It was as though her vocal cords were cut or sand had been put on her mouth.Ryan chose that time to stand and sit at the front of his desk just next to her chair. Gripping her chair, he turned it such that they were now facing each in opposite places. Winking, Ryan bend closer to her. “Miss Leila, do you know that you are now my wife.” Ryan said as he faced her. Those words of course had her world start tilting. “Mr. Ryan, you have to stop spouting nonsense. You do know why I am here and it is serious.” Leila said as she struggled to hide the grin that was beginning to form on her lips.“So yes, I did go home, tried lo
