EPISODE 1: A TALE FROM THE PAST.

It had been two weeks since they gave me the most shocking news of my life. The two people, whom I had loved my entire life, had just told me that I wasn't their biological daughter, and they adopted me from an orphanage in a small town. It felt like I had lost my sense of being. Who was I, and where exactly did I come from? Who are even parents? Those were what paraded through my mind until I chose to accept the truth. I was taken care of and loved by Mr. Kent and Gracie.

I may not share the same blood as her and her husband, but with their son, they've never treated me less than a human being.

Christopher White. My handsome stepbrother. Christopher, when I came, was resentful towards me; he didn't want to accept that his loving parents had adopted a girl, a teenager, who had almost become a woman.

His resentful pattern—I, myself, wasn't that innocent; I never liked my foster brother, and our hateful nature toward each other slowly turned into love. I developed feelings for Christopher, even though he was my foster brother.

Christopher gradually took a liking to me; his arrogant behavior whenever he found me around disappeared, and he began to be more gentlemanly to me. Only when his parents were around, if we were found, might it cause a family dispute, or worse, one of my foster parents may encounter heartache and the other gets to blame me for the dilemma.

"Nina! Mom wants you down for breakfast.".

Christopher barged into my bedroom, informed me,and didn't even get to lovingly embrace me...

"What, is that all?". I questioned him and stared at his round face. Every morning, Christopher takes his early morning dose of vitamin pills and doesn't even fail to complete his skincare routine. He posts his videos online, and girls decide to trope in their numbers by subscribing to his videos.

Without doing anything, Christopher went out of the room, and he also stole the lipstick I left on top of my table.

He is a guy, but he finds makeup alluring for his beautiful face. His face is as soft as a baby's butt.

I answered Mom's call by strolling to meet her and Dad at the breakfast table. Christopher was seated among them.

"Good morning, dear. Sleep well.?" ...

I came along, and Dad asked me...

"Good morning. I slept well. How about you?" ...

I replied to him, my hands slowly catching my hair from falling out of my bunny.

"Same!". Dad nods his head. Mom comes, and she serves him a plate of his favorite dishes.

I was the last person to be offered a plate; thereafter, Mom went back to the kitchen, and Dad then asked us to have something to eat before Mom's arrival.

She came and had her hand occupied with two bowls of hot soup. Another dad's favorite. For the past week, she has been preparing Dad's favorite, for reasons we do not know. Aside from that, Dad hasn't complained; he seems to be enjoying the extra care of his wife.

After breakfast, my parents asked me to come by their room after changing out of my nightgown.

"Dad! Mom!". I knocked and then entered their bedroom.

I walked in on them sitting next to each other on their beds with a serious and confusing expression on their faces. It felt like something had happened, or worse, I had committed a crime.

The first thing that came to mind was, what if they've found out about my relationship with Christopher, or perhaps he's told his parents about us? ..

"Nina, please take a seat.".

Mom offered me; her hands were on Dad's.

I got to the chair and sat down.

"What's up? What happened,?". I glanced at both of them.

Dad and Mom shared a mutual glance at each other.

Mom takes a deep breath and allows Dad to speak.

"Baby, we have news.".

He grinned.

"News? What news?".

I brought my chair closer and asked him—Mom included—literally anyone who would be able to give me a straight answer without loitering around the place.

"Your... wedding... to... Drake... Lowell...".

Dad paused at every one of his sentences.

My marriage to Drake Lowell? I thought that chapter was finally closed, especially when Christopher brought the news of their favorite son's illicit relationship with his maid and with a few other ladies we suspect he might be involved in...

How is it possible that I am once again going to marry an asshole like him? .

Has my family lost their minds?

Christopher overheard the conversation in his parents' bedroom. I had no idea how he came, and we didn't know what happened. I assumed he was going to tell the both of us the moment that he barged in. His parents freaked out and questioned his behavior. I was in my chair, and I could feel my heart beating so fast. As much as I want to continue being in a relationship with my foster brother, I don't think I am ready to accept the truth from his parents.

Christopher managed the situation perfectly; he was able to swiftly lie to his parents and also sound convincing as well.

My baby isn't just handsome; he is also intelligent.

I was excused from my parent's bedroom, and just as I left, Christopher came out from hiding in the corner, grabbed my hand, and forced me into the visitor's bathroom next to the store room.

"Are you thinking of marrying him?".

Jealous Christopher questioned me.

"I don't know; Mom and Dad wanted me to." I diverted.

Christopher's hand was slowly hurting me, and when he saw that, he pulled away and said,.

"You ain't going to get married.".

"What? What are you planning on doing?".

I giggled, and I turned around to leave the bathroom, but then again, he grabbed my hand and nailed me to the wall.

"Nina, do you take me for a joke?". His eyes fill with vexation.

"Joke? Not really, but you're beginning to get me mad." I said, slowly becoming angry.

Christopher hauled away from me.

And with his head lowered, he apologized.

"I am sorry, Nina, but whenever I get the thought of you marrying someone else, I feel angry.".

He expressed.
