LOGINChapter 2
SOPHIA POV
“Good morning,” I greeted softly with a small smile the moment the elevator doors opened on the top floor.
The atmosphere here felt completely different from the lower floors. Quieter. Colder and more intimidating.
Everything looked expensive from the marble floor beneath my heels to the dark walls decorated with silver designs of wolves. Even the air smelled different here. Expensive cologne, coffee, leather, and something else underneath it all. Something wild.
My eyes moved slowly around the massive office floor while several workers glanced briefly at me before quickly returning to their work. Most of them barely hid the curiosity in their eyes.
Of course they were curious. A human working directly under the Lycan King himself?bThat alone sounded insane.
“Good morning,” Jessica replied warmly from behind the front desk.
Unlike the others, her smile actually looked genuine.
Jessica was the first Lycan I met here and the woman who interviewed me personally. She was surprisingly kind unlike most Lycans I had encountered before. Most carried pride on their faces like they were naturally above humans.
But Jessica treated me normally. At least for now. I walked toward her desk slowly while adjusting the sleeve of my blazer nervously.
“Is the CEO here yet?” I asked casually, though deep inside my chest my heart was already beginning to pound heavily.
Finally. After five years. I was finally about to meet the man who destroyed my life. The man I came here to ruin.
Jessica shook her head slightly while arranging some files.
“He should be here soon,” she answered before lifting her eyes toward me seriously. “And Sophia… don’t make any mistake.”
I smiled lightly. “I won’t.”
But inside my mind, another voice whispered differently. I cannot afford to. One mistake. That was all it would take for everything to collapse.
I moved toward my desk slowly after that. My heels clicked softly against the polished floor while my eyes secretly observed everything around me.
Cameras. Security doors. Restricted elevators. Fingerprint access. This company was practically built like a fortress. Typical. Derek probably trusted nobody.
Good. That would make destroying him even more satisfying. I sat down calmly before turning on the computer in front of me. The bright screen reflected faintly against my face as I typed in my login details carefully.
To everyone else, I was simply the new human secretary. Quiet. Professional. Harmless.
But underneath that mask… I was something else entirely. My plan here was simple. Get close to Derek. Make him trust me. Make him fall so deeply that he would never suspect me.
Then slowly destroy everything he built with his own hands. A cold satisfaction settled inside my chest at the thought.
The surviving warrior of our pack had trained me well during the past five years. They taught me things I never imagined learning before.
How to lie. How to manipulate. How to survive. How to hurt people before they hurt you first. At first, I hated it all. But pain changes people. And revenge changes them even more.
Five years ago, after the slaughter of my pack, something inside me awakened. Not a wolf. No. I still could not shift. But the blood of werewolves still flowed inside my veins.
And grief… Grief unlocked abilities I never knew I had. My senses became sharper. Faster reflexes. Strength. Heightened hearing. Sometimes even instincts so dangerous they scared me myself.
The warriors noticed it immediately. And they used it. I swallowed hard before pushing those thoughts away.
Now was not the time to get distracted. Quietly, I opened another hidden tab beneath the company system. My fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard. Fast. Precise. Careful.
Lines of encrypted codes flashed across the screen while I secretly searched through the company firewall. I kept my face calm despite my racing heartbeat.
Nobody could know. If they discovered I was hacking into the system on my very first day here, I was dead. Literally dead.
A small smirk appeared on my lips when I found the first loophole inside their network security. Interesting. The mighty Lycan company was not as untouchable as people believed.
I quickly copied some encrypted files into a hidden drive before minimizing the tab immediately when footsteps echoed across the floor. Heavy footsteps.
The entire atmosphere changed instantly. The workers around me straightened immediately. Some lowered their heads respectfully. Others froze completely. Then I heard it.
“Good morning, sir.”
My fingers stopped moving instantly. He was here. For one second, my entire body went cold. Then my heartbeat started pounding violently against my chest. Fast. Too fast.
I tightened my hands beneath the desk as memories crashed violently into my mind again. Blood on the floor. My mother screaming. Dylan’s final cry. Fire consuming the pack house.
Hatred burned hot inside my chest so suddenly that it almost suffocated me. Calm down. Calm down, Sophia. I lowered my head quickly, pretending to organize files on my desk while silently struggling to control my breathing.
I had imagined this moment for years. Years. The day I would finally stand before Derek. The monster responsible for everything. I thought I would feel strong. Prepared. But now that he is truly here… My body trembled slightly with rage.
For several seconds, I could not bring myself to stand up or even look at him. I was afraid the hatred in my eyes would expose me immediately.
Then suddenly… A pair of polished black shoes stopped directly in front of my desk. My breathing hitched. The entire floor felt unbearably silent. Slowly… Very slowly. I raised my head.
And the moment my eyes landed on the man standing before me. My blood ran cold. Shock slammed into me so hard I almost stopped breathing. Because the face staring back at me… Was not the face I expected to see.
EPILOGUESOPHIA POVThe cold night breeze brushed softly against my skin as I stood quietly on the open balcony, staring at the silver moon hanging high above the empire.Everything below looked peaceful. The palace lights glowed beautifully against the darkness while distant laughter echoed faintly from somewhere far below. The wind carried the scent of flowers from the royal garden mixed with the familiar cool scent of the night.Seven years. It had already been seven years since I first walked into Derek’s company with revenge burning inside my heart.Seven years since I stood in front of him with hatred. Seven years since I planned to destroy him. And somehow… seven years later, I was now standing inside his palace carrying his child. Life truly had a strange way of changing people. A small smile touched my lips unconsciously as my hand slowly rested on my swollen stomach. It had also been four years since I returned to Derek after leaving him that day.For three whole years, I s
Chapter 9SOPHIA POV“This is a joke… right?” I asked. My voice sounded empty even to my own ears. I took a slow step backward without realizing it, my legs suddenly feeling weak beneath me.Five years. Five whole years of hate. Five years of pain and endurance. Five years of training myself into something cold enough, sharp enough and dangerous enough to kill him without hesitation. And now he was standing there telling me it was all built on the wrong person? My chest tightened painfully. No, this couldn’t be happening.“That’s not possible,” I whispered again, but this time the confidence in my voice was gone completely.Derek’s expression softened slightly.“It is.”Silence filled the office again. But this silence felt different now. Before, it was heavy with anger and hatred. Now… it felt suffocating. Like the truth itself had entered the room and stolen all the air from my lungs. My knees weakened slightly, but I forced myself to remain standing. I refused to break down in fron
Chapter 8 SOPHIA POV “What crime did innocent people commit for them to be slaughtered like animals?”The memories became too loud again. The screams. The blood. The smoke. My breathing turned unstable.“I would have died too if I had been there that night.”Derek took a slow step toward me.“Don’t,” I warned instantly. But he continued anyway. Another slow step. Controlled. Unhurried. He never rushed because he never needed to. Power naturally followed him.“I never gave that order,” he said quietly. His voice was calm, but something inside it felt heavier now.“You have been carrying hatred for the wrong person all these years.”My eyes flashed with fury immediately.“Don’t say that.”I shook my head repeatedly.“No. No, don’t do this.”Why was he still lying? Why was he trying so hard to destroy the only thing that had kept me alive for five years?“You admitted it,” I snapped. “The news carried it. Every platform carried it. The whole world knew you were responsible.”Derek’s ey
Chapter 7SOPHIA POVThe silence inside the office felt heavier than anything I had ever experienced before. Heavy enough to suffocate. My heartbeat still refused to calm down after everything Derek had revealed. My fingers trembled faintly at my sides, but I forced myself to remain still. Forced myself not to show weakness in front of him.Derek stood a few steps away from me like he always did—calm, composed, completely in control.Watching me. Studying me. Like he could see through every lie, every wall, every layer I had built around myself during the past five years. But this time… something was different. There was no amusement in his eyes anymore. No teasing smirk. No dangerous flirting. Only something darker. Something unreadable. Something that made my chest tighten painfully.“Alpha Derek, I don’t understand what you are talking about,” I said finally, forcing my voice to stay calm despite the chaos inside me.I folded my arms slowly, trying to maintain control.“Stop accusi
Chapter 6SOPHIA POV“You can torture me all you want. I won’t say a word.”My voice came out steady, but inside my chest, my heartbeat was anything but calm. I stood straight, forcing my expression to remain cold while Derek watched me like he was already inside my head.“But I know you can’t bear it right, your Lycan won’t allow it,” I added sharply, lifting my chin slightly. For a moment, silence stretched between us. Heavy. Suffocating. Derek tilted his head slowly, studying me like prey he had finally caught.A faint smirk appeared on his lips.“It is true,” he said calmly. “That I can’t bear it”My fingers tightened slightly.“But there are plenty ways to get the truth out of you without torture.”His voice dropped lower at the last word. Dangerously low. My body reacted before my mind did, a small tension running through my spine. I loathed this reaction. He took a slow step closer. Then another. The space between us shrank until I could feel the pressure of his presence again.
Chapter 5SOPHIA POV“What do you mean?” I asked nervously, but my body was already on alert. My fingers curled slightly at my side, hidden beneath the edge of my blazer. The air in the room felt different the moment he spoke. He was not guessing. He was confirming something.Derek’s eyes did not leave mine for even a second. Slowly, he stepped away from the desk, the sound of his shoes against the marble floor echoing in the silent office like a warning.“I know you entered this company for a purpose.”His voice was calm. Too calm. That was what made it dangerous. My heartbeat skipped slightly. I forced my expression to remain steady.“I don’t understand what you mean,” I said carefully. But inside my mind, everything tightened. No. This was not part of my plan. Not this soon. Derek tilted his head slightly as if studying me. Then he continued.“Or do you take us for a fool?”The temperature in the room seemed to drop. His golden eyes sharpened.“You have been monitoring this company
