SOPHIA POV
I stood in front of the Lycanthrope Company building with a small smile tugging slowly at my lips.
The building towered above me like a giant monster waiting patiently to swallow its prey whole. Men in suits walked past me quickly with confidence written all over their faces while armed guards stood firmly at the entrance.
Power. Everything about this place screamed power.
The cold morning wind brushed against my skin softly, making the strands of my black hair dance around my face, but I barely noticed it. My eyes remained fixed on the enormous silver logo hanging proudly at the top of the building.
A wolf. The symbol of the Lycan King. My smile deepened slightly. Today was my first day working here.
The first human ever allowed to work inside the Lycan company.
Just thinking about it made something dark twist inside me with satisfaction. Do they know how hard I worked to get this position? The sleepless nights. The fake smiles. The endless studying. The sacrifices.
No. They had no idea. And that was exactly how I wanted it.
I tightened my fingers around the strap of my bag before taking a slow breath. The scent of rain lingered faintly in the air mixed with expensive perfumes, gasoline, and coffee from a nearby café. Everything around me looked normal.
Too normal. Meanwhile my entire life had been buried in blood and ashes for the past five years.
Five years. Today made it exactly five years since my pack was slaughtered. Five years since my parents died. Five years since I lost everything.
The smile on my lips slowly turned cold. My chest tightened painfully as the memories forced themselves into my head again no matter how hard I tried to bury them.
Screams. Blood. Fire. I could still hear the terrified cries echoing in my ears sometimes late at night. I could still remember the panic in my brother’s voice during that final phone call.
“Sophia, listen to me carefully,” Dylan had said between heavy breaths.
In the background, people were screaming. I remembered gripping my phone tightly with shaking hands as fear crawled slowly into my chest.
“Dylan? What’s happening? Why are people screaming?”
“Don’t come back!” he shouted suddenly.
Then I heard growling. Loud. Terrifying. The sound still haunted me till today.
“Sophia...” His voice broke this time, softer now, filled with pain and urgency. “Promise me you’ll stay hidden. Never reveal who you are. Bury everything deep inside your mind and survive.”
“Dylan”
“Promise me!”
Tears burned my eyes immediately as the memory replayed vividly inside my head. Then came the sound I would never forget for the rest of my life.
His scream. The line went dead immediately after that. I swallowed hard, forcing the painful lump in my throat down.
Since that day, I have lost my family. I lost my home. I lost my pack. And I became truly alone in this world.
For years I tried to survive like nothing happened. I forced myself to smile. Forced myself to continue living among humans while pretending the nightmares did not exist.
But every single day, hatred grew quietly inside me. Slowly. Patiently. Like poison.
My name is Sophia. A twenty-five-year-old human. At least… that was what the world believed.
Funny enough, I was born from two pure-blooded werewolves yet turned out completely human. No wolf. No abilities. Nothing.
A disgrace. A rarity. Something abnormal. But my parents never treated me like I was a mistake. Never. Instead, they protected me too much.
My father made sure nobody outside our family even knew Alpha Kaden had a daughter. I was raised far away from the pack in the human city where nobody could question me or look down on me for being different.
I lived like an ordinary human girl. School. Friends. Normal life. Well… as normal as my life could be.
I did not visit the pack often, only during holidays or important events, but I still called regularly. My mother never missed a single call. Dylan used to tease me for avoiding pack training even though I physically could not shift.
Those memories used to make me laugh. Now they only hurt. Because all of it disappeared in one night.
The Lycan King destroyed everything. Derek. Even thinking about his name made anger burn hot inside my chest. Alpha King of the Lycan and werewolf. The man feared by every pack. The man who ordered the execution of mine.
Officially, the reason given was betrayal and disobedience against the Lycanthrope rule.
But till today… I still did not know what exactly my pack did wrong. And honestly? I no longer cared. Nothing could justify slaughtering innocent people. Nothing.
A car suddenly stopped near the entrance, pulling me out of my thoughts. Several workers immediately bowed their heads respectfully as a tall man stepped out wearing an expensive black suit.
Fear instantly flashed across their faces. Interesting. Power really ruled this place. I stared at the building one last time before slowly lifting my chin.
Five years ago, I was weak. Helpless. Broken. But not anymore. I worked my way into this company myself. Into his world. Into the heart of the monster’s territory.
And now? I was finally close enough. Close enough to destroy him. A dangerous smile curved slowly on my lips as I walked toward the entrance.. I got a job here as his secretary.
And I am here for revenge. I will make sure I avenge my parents. The show has just begun.
EPILOGUESOPHIA POVThe cold night breeze brushed softly against my skin as I stood quietly on the open balcony, staring at the silver moon hanging high above the empire.Everything below looked peaceful. The palace lights glowed beautifully against the darkness while distant laughter echoed faintly from somewhere far below. The wind carried the scent of flowers from the royal garden mixed with the familiar cool scent of the night.Seven years. It had already been seven years since I first walked into Derek’s company with revenge burning inside my heart.Seven years since I stood in front of him with hatred. Seven years since I planned to destroy him. And somehow… seven years later, I was now standing inside his palace carrying his child. Life truly had a strange way of changing people. A small smile touched my lips unconsciously as my hand slowly rested on my swollen stomach. It had also been four years since I returned to Derek after leaving him that day.For three whole years, I s
Chapter 9SOPHIA POV“This is a joke… right?” I asked. My voice sounded empty even to my own ears. I took a slow step backward without realizing it, my legs suddenly feeling weak beneath me.Five years. Five whole years of hate. Five years of pain and endurance. Five years of training myself into something cold enough, sharp enough and dangerous enough to kill him without hesitation. And now he was standing there telling me it was all built on the wrong person? My chest tightened painfully. No, this couldn’t be happening.“That’s not possible,” I whispered again, but this time the confidence in my voice was gone completely.Derek’s expression softened slightly.“It is.”Silence filled the office again. But this silence felt different now. Before, it was heavy with anger and hatred. Now… it felt suffocating. Like the truth itself had entered the room and stolen all the air from my lungs. My knees weakened slightly, but I forced myself to remain standing. I refused to break down in fron
Chapter 8 SOPHIA POV “What crime did innocent people commit for them to be slaughtered like animals?”The memories became too loud again. The screams. The blood. The smoke. My breathing turned unstable.“I would have died too if I had been there that night.”Derek took a slow step toward me.“Don’t,” I warned instantly. But he continued anyway. Another slow step. Controlled. Unhurried. He never rushed because he never needed to. Power naturally followed him.“I never gave that order,” he said quietly. His voice was calm, but something inside it felt heavier now.“You have been carrying hatred for the wrong person all these years.”My eyes flashed with fury immediately.“Don’t say that.”I shook my head repeatedly.“No. No, don’t do this.”Why was he still lying? Why was he trying so hard to destroy the only thing that had kept me alive for five years?“You admitted it,” I snapped. “The news carried it. Every platform carried it. The whole world knew you were responsible.”Derek’s ey
Chapter 7SOPHIA POVThe silence inside the office felt heavier than anything I had ever experienced before. Heavy enough to suffocate. My heartbeat still refused to calm down after everything Derek had revealed. My fingers trembled faintly at my sides, but I forced myself to remain still. Forced myself not to show weakness in front of him.Derek stood a few steps away from me like he always did—calm, composed, completely in control.Watching me. Studying me. Like he could see through every lie, every wall, every layer I had built around myself during the past five years. But this time… something was different. There was no amusement in his eyes anymore. No teasing smirk. No dangerous flirting. Only something darker. Something unreadable. Something that made my chest tighten painfully.“Alpha Derek, I don’t understand what you are talking about,” I said finally, forcing my voice to stay calm despite the chaos inside me.I folded my arms slowly, trying to maintain control.“Stop accusi
