I got

Ophelia stood sat at the bar. Rena was singing. It had been two weeks since she'd started working there.

It'd been two weeks since she saw him. Two weeks since she'd spoken to Eric.

She sipped the drink quietly. Rena asked for the shift, and she was already on her way, so she decided to just...hang.

It was her first doing so. She listened to Rena's dynamic voice. They were fundamentally different.

She tapped her fingers on the bar in boredom, spinning around the watch the men and women who gathered there interact.

What where they talking about?

She looked down at her phone. What was Eric doing? Did he miss her? Was he alright?

She sighed. "Shoot. I really need some sleep."

She looked back up. She hadn't seen Mr. Hades since that day? What was he doing?

"You wondering where the boss is," Nino quipped.

She looked up with a smile. "Why would you say that?"

He shrugged. "He talks to you more than I've ever seen him talk to anyone."

That made her smile. "Well...I was wondering where he was. Do you know?"

"Probably his company. That where he spends most of his time," Nino remarked. "What me to refill your glass?"

She nodded. "Sure. When do you get off."

Nino grinned. "Close. I think after I'll hit a sex club or something."

She frowned. "Really? Is there one near here."

He chuckled. "No," he pushed her drink to her. "I was kidding."

She shrugged. "I guess I'll go home. Thanks for drinks Nino."

She got up, leaving a tip. She'd gotten paid today. It was a nice check. She paid her phone bill, and got an apartment with it.

She headed home with a sigh. The next thing she needed was a car. It'd take time to get that though.

The rain came out of nowhere. Ophelia sighed, hurrying to the bus stop.

She waited, checking the schedule. She'd just missed it.

She said, slumping into the wet seat. Well, crap. This sucked.

A car slowed down, stopping in front of her.

"Hey little song bird," He called from the rolled down window. "Want a dry place to perch?"

She got into the car, with a soft smile. "Thanks Mr. Hades."

"Well, I couldn't let you stay there in good conscious, little Canary. You might catch a cold. I'm coming down to the Mines this week. Wouldn't want anything happening to your voice."

She smiled, tucking her hair behind her hair. It had curled up, and the shrinkage was...deplorable.

Why today of all days? Why rain?

He shot her a look. "Where am I headed?"

"Oh, keep straight."

He nodded.

She shivered. He turned the heat on silently.

"I thought you were in the schedule today," he asked.

"I was," she explained, "But Rena asked for the hours."

"Don't you need them," Mr. Hades murmured.

"Well I do. But Rena doesn't strike me as the type to ask for things she doesn't need. So it's alright."

His lips quirked up. "Interesting."

Ophelia moved around in the seat anxiously. She was in her bosses car.

She glanced at him. His face was all edges but his expression was soft. He had his hair back today.

She gasped lightly. She'd never seen him with his hair down.

He glanced at Ophelia, making her look down.

His lips quirked up. "Am I still going the right way?"

"Oh! Um yes. It's a little ways until you get to my side of the town, sorry."

"Don't be sorry. I offered to take you home," He said gently.

Ophelia, looked at her hands. Her makeup was probably dripping. Her hair was a mess, her lashes were probably coming undone—

"You're a shy one aren't you?" He chuckled lowly, rattling the car with his voice.

She smiled nervously at her lap. "Yeah. I guess so."

"You're different on stage," he noted.

She glanced up.

"You should be confident, Songbird," he stayed seriously. "Show your beauty to the world."

Her...beauty? Ophelia asked herself.

"Easier said that done," Ophelia murmured. Playing with her hands.

"Isn't everything?" He shot back. "But it's important to do it. Confidence will make you fly again, songbird. You just have to find it."

She looked out the window. "Um...make a left here."

The car ride was silent. She gave him instructions.

He pulled up to her small apartment, getting out.

"I'll walk you to your door," he instructed, opening the door for her.

She obliged, because her new neighborhood was by no means the safest.

"Thank you, Mr. Hades."

He nodded. "It was no trouble at all, Songbird."

He turned around the leave as she shut the door. She paused.

"Mr. Hades?"

He turned around. "Yes?"

"Do you...think I'm beautiful?"

He looked at her. "No."

She looked down.

"I know you are. That's why, one day, I hope you will be as confident in your beauty as I am."

She looked up, as he walked back to her car.

Her face lit up with a smile. More confident in her beauty huh?
