Dedication:

For Simon for being an awesome author, your novel opened my eyes to the world of books. For Poncho, my English Bulldog for being a good boy. For my mother who’s my strongest fan and critic. My partner, who became my unwilling contributor for intimate scenes.

Lastly, for my greatest adversary who kept on saying I can’t make it and I’m never enough A.K.A me.

Sincerely,

Latton Ripley

This is not a goodbye. It’s more of a see you later. :)

=Mini Story=

(Happens when Latton was in a coma)

LUCIUS is running out of the lift thinking he is late for his first meeting with Caldwell Incorporated as C.O.O for Va-Yor-Ri Unlimited. When he opened the conference door only Lucian was in there.

“Where’s everyone?” He asks while panting heavily and still catching his breath.

Without looking at him Lucian replied, "The meeting was cancelled most of the attendees including John got stuck in the traffic." He explains as he hurriedly gathers his stuff to return to the hospital to stay with Latton.

Lucius was about to leave when he noticed the scarf around Lucian’s neck. He stared at it, it looked familiar. It's made from a fine yarn It has the zodiac sign Sagittarius and has the initials L.R embroidered on it.

Lucian could feel his gaze on his neck and was about to ask him what the matter was but he suddenly heard Lucius calling him by a familiar name. "Blade?” He muttered. Seeing his reaction, he repeats with a much more confident tone.

“You're Blade.” He exclaimed.

Lucian stared at him in surprise, “How did you know that name?” He asks in surprise.

Lucius sighs, “Forget it. Just pretend I didn't call you that name.” He says with sadness in his eyes, he then turns to leave the room but Lucian stops him and closes the conference door.

“Please take a seat. I know you want to say something.” Lucian insists while pointing at the chair.

Both of them sat but no one spoke for a while.

Suddenly Lucius heaves deeply.

“I'm... She'll… I don't know where to begin.” He mumbles then smiles faintly. “I heard stories about how you two met. It is interesting to feel like a movie or a rom-com but sadly this is how it is now. She's not here, we don't know when she'll wake up or if she'll wake up and you, you don't deserve that scarf.” He says while gritting his teeth and clenching his fist while pointing at the piece of cloth wrapped around his neck.

Lucian lowered his head taking every word he was saying to him.

“Do you know the story of that thing you're wearing?” Lucius remarks while staring the scarf that was neatly arranged on his neck.

Lucian shook his head.

Lucius sneered, crossed his arms, and leaned on the chair. “It's made of Vicuna, the most expensive yarn possible to buy. I bought the yarn and the gold tread that was used to embroider your zodiac sign. She finished knitting yours before she started mind.”

He explains with a hint of jealousy in his tone.

Hearing Lucius' words felt like someone poured cold water on him. He then stared at the scarf he was wearing and saw the letters LR, Initially he thought it was a company logo, he never knew it meant Latton Ripley her initials.

He smiles as a teardrop escapes from his eye while he is caressing the letters in it.

Imagining how she knitted it for him.

“She. She made this.” He says wanting to hear a confirmation of something he already knows.

Lucius nods and stands up this time Lucian lets him open the door but before he leaves he says.

“She liked you… –even loved you, she was happy back then.” He sighed deeply for the last time then went away.

Lucian was left in the room feeling defeated.

“I love her too.” He says to himself.
