DominicBesides trying not to kill my mate's boyfriend, I spent my days at school doing my best to dodge all the girls. Apparently, it was decided they all wanted to hook up with me. Too bad for them. I was already taken. Even if my mate wasn't aware of it yet, I was already hers. I just had to figure out how to approach her and not freak her out. Something I was still working on as I watched her leave with him again today. I knew they were going to a party tonight. One of the other football players at put together. Word around the halls was it was supposed to be epic, and anyone that was anyone in the school would be there. I wasn't originally going to follow her to the party or even go, for that matter. But my wolf wouldn't leave me alone. I couldn't sit still for anything, and apparently, I was driving my parents crazy because they told me just to go. If my wolf was that worked up about something, I needed to listen to him. Not wanting to go and be seen really, I shifted in the tr
BriCody ran off, leaving me with a wolf. I should have tried to walk around the wolf and go with him, but something told me to stay where I was. My legs started to ache, so I sat down. I realize if this strange wolf hadn’t shown up, Cody would have done the worst thing he ever thought about doing to me. I couldn’t help the tears that ran down my face as I let myself cry. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the wolf moving closer to me, and I readied myself for it to attack me, but it stopped right next to me. Soon though, the thoughts of what might have happened left me. My whole body began to hurt. It felt like I was being ripped apart from the inside out, and I wished the wolf would just attack me and get it over with. I lay down on my side, crying heavier. The wolf got up and walked off, leaving me on my own, but not for long. Dominic appeared out of nowhere wearing only shorts. He lifted me as though I weighed nothing, “come on, sweetheart. You can’t shift here.” Shift? What was h
Bri I ran around in a large circle ending back in the same spot I had started, finally lying down and rolling around. This felt great. My muscles pulled and stretched in ways I never knew they could, making me feel stronger. Dominic came into the clearing in human form. Again with only a pair of shorts on. He carried a bag with him as he slowly walked over to me. I rolled over again and set up. I was still so full of energy and felt like bouncing around. He smiled at me as he set the bag down in front of me. “Shifting back is easier than your first shift. Just relax and picture yourself standing in front of a mirror.” He backed up a few steps and turned around, so his back was to me.I did what he said and found myself crouching down next to the bag he left completely naked. I grabbed the bag and found a t-shirt and some boxers inside. I grabbed them and dressed quickly. The shirt was huge on me, and if I were to guess, I would say it was one of Dominic’s, mainly because it smelled j
Dominic It was well past midnight when my mom and I took Bri back to her house to find people everywhere. And then sometime close to three in the morning when things calmed down enough that everyone finally left. Not that it bothered me. Bri mentioned Jackasses' attack, and her father made sure he didn't leave there without special bracelets. His group of jocks that had been with him disappeared shortly after that leaving him to his fate. Bri's father thanked me before ushering her inside. And my mother headed home. There was a lot to do, and my job was to look after Bri. I ducked into the woods that seemed to encircle this town. How there wasn't a wolf population in the area was beyond me, it was perfect. Once in, far enough, I circled around to the back side of the house. Stripping down, I left my clothes in a pile and shifted. I moved to the same spot I have been sitting in the last few days and watched Bri as she came to the window to see if I was there. I watched as her eyebrows
BriDominic waited in my room while I showered and dressed in the bathroom. I decided on my usual weekend clothes that I wear when Cody is out of town. Black leggings and an oversized bright pink t-shirt, I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and headed back into my room with Dominic's clothes from last night. He was fully dressed in different clothes than last night but was wearing similar jeans, a black t-shirt with a band logo, and a pair of boots. My bed was even made, and he sat in my desk chair looking at my sketchbook. When I walked in, he looked up at me, "you know you got the image exact?" I raised an eyebrow at him. What was he talking about? Lifting the sketchbook, he turned it around to show me the picture I had drawn of a sandy-colored wolf. I was still confused for a moment, but then I remembered the sandy-colored paws of my wolf last night and the fur that ran down my side. "Is that really what she looks like?" He nodded and set the book back down, "yep, she's beautiful,
DominicBri took everything in stride. If she didn't understand something, she spoke up. She caught on quickly, which was good because we didn't have much time to get her up to speed. If she had been being watched by a pack, they would already know she had shifted, and well, frankly, she was mine. I would die before I let one of them take her and try and claim her as theirs. And I sure as shit wasn't going to rush it. All of this was new to her, and I didn't want her to allow me to claim her and then later in life hate me or resent me for it. After dinner, I decided to give her a break and walked with her back to her house. Since her parents were still out, We walked through the front door and up to her room. While she took some clothes into the bathroom to change, I took my boots off, set them next to the balcony door, and sat on her bed. The remote to her TV was on the nightstand, so I grabbed it and turned it on, flipping through the channels. When she returned, she closed and lock
Third-party The humans didn't hold up their end of the agreement. They didn't keep her safe. I knew I should have retrieved her a few years ago when she came of age. But she hadn't shifted yet. Nor had she shown any signs of it and would have been defenseless if we were attacked. And the whole point in sending her away was to keep her safe. Hell, the whole point in the entire pack laying low for the last fifteen years was to keep her safe. The humans were meant to watch her, and they were supposed to notify us of the first signs of her getting closer to her first shift. But they chose to leave her alone for days at a time. So they didn't notice the signs until it was too late. They had not kept her as safe as they had let us believe. No, they had let her go off with a human boy who thought he owned her and put his hands on her. No, the only one at the end of the day that kept her safe was a small rogue family that had moved to the area a week ago. The rogue boy had seen the signs of
DominicBri wanted answers, and I knew she did, but I didn’t trust this alpha, who claimed to be her brother. The scent of pack wolfs was evident, but there was something else there. It was like their scent had an over laying scent that would cover their wolf scent once they had left the area. I didn’t like it. Why would a wolf need to cover their scent in such a way? And how would they do that? Bri and I were in the mists of quietly arguing about her safety while speaking to this wolf. She wanted to do it alone, and I didn’t want to leave her alone with any other wolf. Then in walked one of the tallest guys I had ever seen. He was huge and had a large scar that covered one whole side of his face. “Alpha? The witches say their spells will only confuse The Demon Shadows for a few hours. It would be best if we were out of here sooner rather than later.” The Demon Shadows was the one pack all rogues avoided. They didn’t care if you crossed into their borders. If they felt you looked at
