Chapter 25.2 "What an Alpha Must Do"

Brett cannot detect Maxine’s presence as werewolf. Vice versa, Maxine cannot detect him too. Thus, when she came to the playground to meet with her best friend, she has no idea that Brett was observing her from afar. He’s inside a car and watching Maxine and Adler to each other.

“I wonder what’s taking them so long,” Brett murmured while sitting on the driver’s seat. He expected no answer and yet, the man sitting beside him spoke.

“They look so cute together.”

Waiting itself is something Brett does not enjoy. But if he had to wait together with someone he despises, that’s made him feel even worse.

Hands on the wheel, Brett looked at the man who insisted that he’ll coming with him to watch over Maxine.

“A human who is not part of the WayHoRix packs. That’s you,” Brett said, pointing Dwight. “So, why are you tagging alone?”

“Chandler did not tell you?” Dwight responded. He smiled at him and pressed his chest while saying, “I will play the role of being Maxine’s brother. Tadah!”
