Chapter Twenty-Four
When she arrived at the center, she made a point to let them know that Kyle had the authority as well as her Aunt Ellen to sign for any needs that had to do with the center. When she glanced at the clock on her dash, she realized it was already after one and she hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast. She headed to Angelo’s she knew if any restaurant was open, she’d like to eat at it would be there. When she arrived, the host smiled brightly and said, “Miss. McDaniel’s it’s good to see you again.” He didn’t even bat an eyelash at her casual attire. He asked, “Where would you like to be seated today?” Angel asked curiously “Do you have a quiet place that I can get some work done while I eat?” Emmanuel smiled brightly at her and said “I believe I have just the place for you Miss.” When the server came to ask for her order after she’d set her laptop up, she said evenly “Could you just tell Angelo that Angel is here, he’ll know what to bring me.”

She decided she had better check on Melanie, she’d left the girl trying to arrange an auction for the antiques at the old Kingsley Farm. When she entered the house, she found Melanie in her office pacing back and forth while speaking on the phone. She liked her take no prisoner’s approach to getting what her boss wanted. When Melanie hung up she said, “The Vanderbilt Auction Hall will host the auction, they tried to say they had no available dates for the near future but with a little persuasion they agreed to host it in two weeks’ time. They will send someone out to Kingsley Farm to gather and collect every antique and catalogue them for the auction. They had just wrapped up their meeting when Melanie came in, she would have been meeting the auctioneer workers at eight that morning. While they had been away, she’d taught her brothers to surf it had been a blast for all three of them. She left Kaleb editing more pictures and went to check on Jackson’s progress. He and Dirk were immersed in the design program that would give them a rough draft of what the car would look like finished. She was still keyed up after all of that and decided she would go for a swim. This way she could get a bit of tension out. She wasn’t sure what time she went in, but it was nearly ten when she came out. She had swam at least three miles doing laps. It had worked too, now she felt she could go get a shower and get some much needed, rest without her brain keeping her awake. The center itself was within two weeks of opening its doors for the first time. The fact she had a hand in building it made her smile, she was so glad she could be a part of helping others. They had their first fundraiser for it a week from now. Damon’s sister was helping to plan it and inviting all the donors from her charity as well. She was also in the middle of negotiation with Garrett about the businesses she co-owned with her brothers and the Kingsley companies all of which turned out to be much more than she’d imagined, to begin with. It was after dinner that the twins suggested going for a swim. When Angel mentioned they didn’t have suits Hunter told her that he’d stocked the pool house with suits to fit her and her brothers.
