LOGINThe evening wind and tranquility wiped away all the chaos that had been filling my mind for the preceding few days. It felt as though I had been granted a second opportunity at life, akin to that of a newborn kid. I'd always wanted to feel that way for so long, and that night was a very captivating time for me to begin with. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, feeling the breeze brush against my skin as I relived all the horrific events that had occurred. All the turmoil that seemed to escape reappeared in an instant. Tears rush down my cheeks as I feel my body shudder as a dreadful understanding dawns on me. It feels as if every second of my existence has been squandered, and as if the sense of despair and worry has taken over the little strand of sanity that exists for me as it pours through my veins and fills my spirit to the core. "You've got this. All you have to do is think that you can," I said to myself persuasively. "You can't, you just can't. You'll never be able to do it, and you'll have to live with the repercussions for the rest of your life," a familiar voice said. My senses begin to be overpowered by numbness. And with that, I realized I could not go away. The reality that this is my fate hits me like a ton of bricks. As I stretched out to wipe away all my tears, I felt thick moisture on my fingers and was terrified to find blood instead of tears. I felt as if my world was spinning before I could even scream. Then, all of a sudden, darkness crept inside me. And eventually sends me to oblivion.
View MoreTears streamed down my face as I clutched the pendant around my neck, a treasured memento from my family. It was the one thing that had kept me going through all the tough times, but now, it felt like a cruel reminder of what I had lost.
"Shit!"
Cursing softly to myself, I tried to will the tears to stop, but they came faster, blurring my vision and making it hard to see. I must look pathetic, I thought, biting down hard on my trembling lips to try and stop the sobs that threatened to escape. As footsteps echoed down the hallway, my heart sank.
It was a cruel reminder that I was no longer in control of my life. I had been taken from the orphanage in the dead of night, forced to flee for my life from raiders who had set fire to the place. Now, I was trapped in this dark, smelly room, waiting for whatever fate lay ahead.
The door creaked open, and a towering man with enough body hair to rival a grizzly bear stepped inside, scowling at me. I kept my head down, avoiding his gaze, knowing that looking him in the eye would only invite trouble.
He sniffed the air, wrinkling his nose in disgust. "You smell like ass," he growled. I couldn't help but notice the stench of garlic on his breath.
"You're not exactly a rose garden yourself," I muttered under my breath, more to myself than to him.
"What's your name?" he demanded, taking a step closer. My heart raced, knowing that this was the moment of truth. I had heard enough horror stories to know that this question could mean the difference between life and death. But as much as I tried, I couldn't bring myself to answer. Fear had a tight grip on my throat, choking off any words that might have escaped.
"Are you deaf? What is your fucking name?!" he bellowed, his face contorting in anger. I stood trembling, my mind racing with fear and uncertainty. I knew I should answer, but my body refused to cooperate. In a sudden burst of rage, he lashed out, his fist connecting with my stomach.
I gasped for air, feeling like I had been hit by a freight train. He slapped me hard across the face, and pain exploded in my head, making me see stars. He wasn't done yet. With a swift kick, he sent me hurtling across the room, my ribs creaking in protest. I prayed silently, hoping that I hadn't suffered any serious injuries.
"You're lucky I need you in peak form," he sneered, flexing a whip in his hand. "I'd have taken the skin off your back with this." The pain was excruciating, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing me break.
I held back the tears that threatened to spill from my eyes, refusing to let him see any sign of weakness.
The smirk of satisfaction on the man's face was twisted, almost grotesque. His lips curled up on one side, revealing crooked teeth. His eyes narrowed into small slits as if he was savoring a particularly delicious meal.
He left the room and returned with two women, who exuded an air of healing energy. He ordered them to heal me on the spot. Relief washed over me as I felt the sensation of my limbs slowly coming back to life.
In less than five minutes, the man left the room with the healers. As much as I wanted to make a run for the door, I knew it was a trap. He must have anticipated my escape attempt and set this up to catch me off guard.
The sound of clicking heels on the concrete floor interrupted my thoughts. A woman, who looked like she was the epitome of elegance, walked in. Her cologne and poise were indicative of her wealth. What was someone like her doing in a place like this, I wondered as I became self-conscious of my dirty appearance.
She smiled softly, but there was a hardness in her eyes that revealed her ruthlessness. "Get up," she commanded me in a gentle voice.
I took a deep breath and rose to my feet without much effort. She scrutinized my features, and I could sense the intrigue in her expression. She retrieved a red scarf and deftly blindfolded me before leading me out of the room.
We walked down several corridors before I felt the chill of the night air on my skin. I hadn't felt such a sensation in months since being taken from the orphanage. One of the older slaves, Rael, had told me about the comfort of the night air, and now I could feel it once again.
A car door opened, and she ushered me inside. Being blindfolded in the compact space made me feel claustrophobic, but it was an upgrade from the slave den.
"Relax. Your life is about to change for the better," she assured me, but her words didn't have the desired effect.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing heart. "Who are you?" I asked, my voice trembling.
"I'm Oma. I work for Alpha Colt," she replied confidently.
I flinched, half expecting her to strike me for questioning her. However, she placed her hand on my shoulder and tried to soothe my fear. I didn't know how to react to her kindness, so I simply shivered in fear instead.
"Relax, young wolf. Alpha Colt will take care of you from now on. You're safe."
The Last Chapter "MOMMY!! Uncle Dimitri was so annoying!! I could not help but laugh whenever I hear my son complaining. "Sky! Don't go too far, alright?" Dimitri called out to my son. And my son Sky being so obedient, nodded and waved happily as he ran to play with his kite. "Hey, are you okay?" Dimitri asked me. I smiled and nodded. Eight years have passed.. Cloud, I'm not sure how I'm going to tell him about you. Sky expressed an interest in learning more about you as he grew older. I'm terrified and perplexed. Because the last time I told him about you, he was aware of how well things were going between us at the time. He knew there was no way we could be this far apart—because he knew you've been deeply in love with me since the day we met and that you'd waited so long just to be able to hold my hand respectfully in yours. He was well aware that I had fallen in love with your inconsequential effor
Athena's POV"ATHENA!! LOOK OUT!!" Megan suddenly screamed. Then suddenly, I just found the entire world spinning right before my very eyes. Then nothing.. But darkness.I tried to open my heavily drooping eyelids, as though I was forcefully knocked unconscious by some nauseous fragrance that has my world spinning around. After a few seconds, I finally recalled all the past occurrences before I had fallen asleep which instantly made me open my eyes and wander around.I was seated and tied up in a chair where you can see a fully painted ambiance in the room. White walls, white ceilings, and there was a window on the corner. It was filled with the chilliness coming from the air condition unit mounted to the wall, and there was a long table made with metal on each corner of the room with glass jars and lids on top of it. Judging from the overall appearance, it certainly looks like a laboratory that you
Athena's POVJust when I thought it was going to be the end of my once miserable life, a powerful voice echoed in my ears in the middle of the night. It was just a soft whisper, but enough to give me enough hope and strength. It was no other but Cloud.I watched as he carefully and steadily released the thick rope tightly wrapped around my body as I was groped into the branch of a tree. Then he gestured me to remain as silent and calm as I could until we could escape from the area of the incident. We were already running hand in hand, with no reason to look back, when the vivid image of Zidane, Lovi, and Chad's lifeless body, along with the missing heart on the facet of their chest, made my entire body shiver in fear and cowardness."Cloud, what the hell was going on?" As though I could no longer restrain the confusion that was starting to occupy my entire thoughts and consciousness, I asked as I muffled a sob.Clou
Athena's POVI was about to go into a deep slumber when I suddenly hear an ear-piercing, bloodcurdling scream from a distance. Along with its frightful screams in the dark, followed by the howling of the wolves from somewhere.Shivering because of the eeriness of the night, I tried to reach for my pillow and wrap it all over my body so I might as well find some comfort. I turned my body to another side and was about to give Cloud an embrace when I had come to the realization that there was no one sleeping next to me.Feeling dazed, I sat up and confirmed that he was, indeed, gone. Where the heck was he in the middle of the night? I wondered to myself. I pulled on a jacket and unzipped the tent. As I went out to search for Cloud, the cold and chilly breeze brushed through my skin that sends shivers down my spine.I was strolling around when I accidentally slipped because I could not see through the darkness of the night. I almost

Megan's POVThis week felt like a bumpy roller coaster ride. All the synonyms and antonyms of misery that can be found in dictionaries were mixed in with it: sorrow and pain, shock and dismay, guilt and innocence, and everything in between. I've lost one person in my life w
Lovi's POVZidane's death had been a tragic event for us. We were just here for three days, yet the despicable crime behind his death was enough to spoil the vibe of the whole camping trip which was meant to celebrate Athena and Cloud's recent engagement. Yet, we were all g
Dimitri's POVI have heard from Chad that they will be out camping in celebration of Athena and Cloud's recent engagement and that they will be staying there for a week. I have also learned that aside from the soon-to-be weds, they have a bunch of friends spending the time
