~ Marina's POV ~

Dylan screamed louder in panic, the raw terror in his voice yanking my attention away from Jaxon, who sat down like none of this concerned him, not even bothering to lift a finger.

"Conrad, you need to stop!" I yelled at him, anger now flaring in my eyes.

He slowly turned to look at me, his grip still cruelly forcing Dylan’s head against the window.

"Is the Supreme Alpha’s son trying to play the hero for his precious little friend?" he sneered darkly. "Why don’t you try

  • Hiding Among Alphas    Chapter 22

~ Marina's POV ~ Heat surged through me as my trembling fingers clutched Louis's diary. My eyes ran over the lines again and again, refusing to believe what I had just read. Remo was Louis's best friend. And worse... He actually knew what Louis looked like. A cold shiver crawled down my spine. Now it all made sense. Now I know why he kept looking at me suspiciously, why he had asked if I was Louis, and why he had thrown the chair heartlessly at me. It was because he knew I wasn't Louis. Because I wasn't his best friend. If he knew from the moment I stepped foot here, why didn't he say a word to anyone? Why did he keep it all to himself? I panicked. I needed to talk to him before he lost his patience and told everyone that I wasn't the real Louis. Hurriedly, I rushed out of the room. Dylan and Dorian had come to see me, but I rushed past them before they could even say a word. I hurried toward the field. The future Alphas who had thrown things at me earlier were running laps

  • Hiding Among Alphas    Chapter 21

~ Marina's POV ~ Louis's father wants to speak to me? Of course he would, since Principal Ramos had told him Louis passed out. No sensible father wouldn't worry about his son... but I wasn't his son. What if he recognized that my voice doesn't match Louis's? Even though I had been faking a boyish voice for everyone in this academy, there was no way the Supreme Alpha wouldn't know the voice of his own child. Louis had grown up in the citadel with him. They had lived under the same roof, eaten at the same table, and spent years together. How could I possibly fool him? "Shall we go? He's waiting for you." Principal Ramos said. "Is it necessary to talk to him?" I muttered. The moment the words left my lips, Principal Ramos and Jaxon exchanged suspicious glances. It was stupid to ask such a question, but I just didn't want to talk to Louis's father. "You don't want to talk to your father?" Principal Ramos asked, confusion written all over his face. I wanted to scream, "Ye

  • Hiding Among Alphas    Chapter 20

~ Marina's POV ~ My eyes felt unbearably heavy as I struggled to open them, as though invisible weights were pressing down on them. But the second I finally managed to force them open, a sharp pain crashed into me like a violent tidal wave. My weak eyes moved around, and I quickly sprang up from the bed the second I couldn't recognize where I was. I had passed out after Remo had heartlessly thrown that chair at me, so what happened after that? I gasped, my eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. Did... did they by chance find out I'm a girl? They could easily know that by taking my clothes off. Did they discover the bandage tied around my chest? "You're awake?" A sudden voice shattered my thoughts, making me scream in fright. I quickly turned toward the door, and a tall woman stood by it. A woman? I thought everyone here were all males. "How are you feeling?" she asked softly, a strange smile curving on her lips. "I'm... fine." I muttered cautiously, my eyes studying her.

"Is the Supreme Alpha’s son trying to play the hero for his precious little friend?" he sneered darkly. "Why don’t you try shifting into your wolf form? Maybe then I’ll reconsider throwing him out this window." My fists clenched so tightly my nails bit painfully into my palms. He was asking for the impossible. He knew Louis didn’t even have a wolf to begin with, yet he was demanding the very thing he knew Louis couldn’t do. It would’ve been easier if I had my wolf too… but I didn’t. Conrad’s lips curled into a dark, mocking smile. "Why, Louis?" he taunted, his voice dripping with ridicule. "Can’t the Almi

  • Hiding Among Alphas    Chapter 18

~ Marina’s POV ~ “Why were you asking all those questions earlier?” Dorian asked as we sat in the cafeteria, the noise of chatting wolves buzzing around us. I slowly looked up from my tray, forcing my expression to stay neutral even though annoyance already prickled beneath my skin. “What was wrong with what I asked?” I said, trying to hide my irritation. “Shouldn’t you have asked how you could avenge your sister’s death? Instead, you were asking about the whereabouts of the tunnel…” His eyes narrowed suspiciously. “Almost like you wanted to use it as a way to escape.” Okay… this bald-head boy was starting to annoy me. Why should I ask how I was supposed to avenge Louise’s death? She wasn’t my sister to begin with. And these people—these lying, manipulative werewolves—had accused my kind. Who knows if it was one of them that killed Louise on purpose and pinned the blame on rogues? These annoying werewolves were capable of anything. “I don’t think Louis meant it that way,”

  • Hiding Among Alphas    Chapter 17

~ Marina's POV ~ I barely grabbed anything useful from the endless nonsense the old werewolf kept rambling about. All he kept saying were the things I didn't want to hear. He kept going on about how rogues were their enemies and how they shouldn't spare one if they came across one. The way he said it, with so much certainty, made irritation crawl beneath my skin. Did these wolves ever talk about anything else? "The Moon Goddess built this academy for the Alpha bloodlines," the old werewolf said, pacing slowly before us. "Which is why the underground tunnel remains available. If rogues ever attacked, we would escape through there." My thoughts came to an abrupt halt. Underground tunnels? Does Dravenmoor have an underground tunnel? I snapped my head up. For the first time since this boring class began, I actually paid attention. Beside me, Dylan frowned in confusion. "We have an underground tunnel in Dravenmoor?" he asked. "Yes, we do," the old werewolf replied with a nod. "But n
