Hiding Her Darkest Desire
Hiding Her Darkest Desire

Prologue

Solana's POV

They always say that I have everything.

My life is close to perfect but little did they know behind this mask the ugly truth hides.

I have the beauty that everyone envies. A luxurious life that people dream to have...but they are wrong if they thought that I have everything because, behind this pretentious perfection, a woman who longs to be loved by her mother lies.

"I heard you are getting married," I uttered while looking at my mother who is busy fixing her make-up in front of the mirror.

"Yes," she responded without looking at me.

"Can I meet him?" I carefully asked and upon hearing my question she put her lipstick down and looked at me with irritation on her face.

"What for?" she asked. I shrugged my shoulder and then smiled at her.

"I just want to see the man you'll spend the rest of your life with," I simply responded. She scoffed then picked up her lipstick once again.

"Just attend my wedding. You don't have to meet him," she uttered and those words stab me in the chest. She didn't bother to ask for my opinion as if she have completely cut me off. She is always like this and I thought I will get numb in her cold treatment but I guess I am wrong.

A bitter smile appeared on my lips and after that, I decided to stay silent.

After a few minutes, I felt my phone vibrating so I excused myself and stepped out of her room. I looked at my phone screen and there I saw Kris's name, my manager.

"Yes, Kris?" I asked anticipating her next words.

"Have you read the contract that I sent to your email? I am done reviewing the terms and conditions I just want to ask for your input, maybe you want to change something," she uttered.

"There's no need for that, I trust you," I responded and upon saying that she chuckled.

"You're just lazy to check it, Solana, stop bringing trust here," she responded which made me laugh.

"You got me there," I replied followed by soft laughter.

"How's meeting with your Mom?" she asked after a while and after hearing that question sadness splurged within my system.

"Nothing changed. She treated me the way she used to...cold," I responded trying to hide the sadness with a smile.

I heard a deep sigh on the other line and after a while, Kris spoke again.

"Wanna have a drink?" she asked which made me smile.

"Just text me the address," I responded and after that, I dropped the call.

I stepped inside my mother's room again and sat beside her.

"I'm going out tonight," I informed her but she didn't bother to respond. I smiled at her and then kissed her cheeks.

"Just send me the details of your wedding Mom," I told her then leave her house and decided to drive towards my condo.

My mother started treating me coldly when Dad left us. She always blamed me for what happened to our family.

She told me that ever since I was born her life became fucked up and I am her greatest misfortune.

She never hurt me physically but her hurtful words are engraved in my heart.

When I reached my condo I decided to take a quick rest to have some energy later.

I have to spend this day wisely since I am only getting one rest day per month. I have a hectic schedule and I am not complaining because whenever I am busy I tend to forget how messed up my life is.

I don't know how long I had been asleep but I woke up when I heard my phone ringing. I reached for my phone on the side table with my eyes closed.

I answered the call and then put the phone on my ear.

"Hello," I answered groggily.

"Where are you? I've been texting you but you aren't replying," I heard Kris's mad voice on the other line.

I looked at my phone screen to check the time and I cursed when I saw that it was already nine in the evening.

"Shit! I'm sorry. I'll be there in a minute," I uttered then dropped the call and headed towards the bathroom to take a quick bath.

After that, I settle with a tight black leather skirt and tube top. I just applied some tint on my lips then stepped out of my condo and walked towards the parking lot.

I checked the address that Kris have sent me and put it on G****e map and after half an hour of driving I arrived at my destination.

After parking my car I stepped inside the club and started searching for Kris. After a few minutes, I saw a hand waving at me and upon looking closely I saw Kris so I waved back and walked towards her with a huge smile plastered on my face.

I immediately kissed her cheeks when I reached her.

"Oh my God I'm sorry I fell asleep," I apologized then occupied the space beside her.

"I thought you ditch me bitch," she uttered which made me laugh.

I took the drinking glass on the table and then took a sip before turning my head to Kris' company.

"Care to introduce me to them?" I whispered in her ear. Kris looked at the stranger sitting on the couch with us.

"Come on Solana they already know you," she uttered which made my eyes roll.

I looked at the strangers in front of me.

"Solana Reev, you are?" I asked the woman with short bleached hair.

"Ginny Grey, we once worked in a movie, I guess you forgot," the woman responded and I immediately felt bad hearing those.

"Oh my God, I am sorry I am bad at remembering people," I genuinely apologized but she just shook her head and smiled at me.

"It's fine, I understand," she responded. I smiled at Ginny once again then diverted my eyes to the man beside her.

"Jeremiah Smith," the man introduced himself so I took his hand and smiled at him as well.

"Don't worry we haven't worked together, I'm not an artist," he responded which made me chuckle.

"So you are a businessman?" that's a wild guess and I was shocked when he nodded his head.

"You got that right," he responded.

Jeremiah let go of my hand so I rested it on my lap while sipping on my glass.

"You know how to build connection Kris," I told Kris then smiled at her. She looked at me boastfully then winked.

We started drinking and Kris allowed me to get drunk since I am with her. She can hold her liquor well so she can look after me.

"I'll just get some fresh air," I whispered in Kris' ear while she is busy drinking.

I stepped out of the club and then sat on the wooden bench outside.

I crossed my legs while looking at the vast darkness. I closed my eyes when I felt the cold breeze embracing me.

While I am peacefully inhaling fresh air I smelled a cigarette so I immediately opened my eyes and looked to my side, there I saw a man standing six foot tall leaning on a post while smoking.

"I'm sorry but do you have to stand there?" I asked a bit irritated that I am feeling nauseous again because of the smell of his cigarette.

When the man looked at me I stopped breathing and I felt like I bit my tongue.

"Why? Do you own this spot?" he asked coldly and all I did was stare at his face.

I have no idea how to respond. I felt like I lost all my words.

How can I even respond when Alton Sanders is standing in front of me? A well-known billionaire who dominates the business world.

He is one of the most sought-after bachelors and I am one of those women who dream to be loved by him.

"What?" he asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

I always dreamed of this moment and I told myself that whenever I got a chance to meet him I will do everything to make him remember me.

"Do you want to have sex with me?" I asked without any hesitation.

He looked at me weirdly then after a while he laughed.

"Are you on drugs?" he asked while looking at me with an amused look on his face.

I firmly shook my head then stand in front of him and bravely looked into his eyes.

"I'm sane. I'm not on drugs and I am not drunk. Do you want to have sex with me?" I asked once again while looking directly into his eyes.
