I rolled in my bed and looked around. My eyes finally landed on the alarm clock that was sitting next to the bed. It was 5:39 AM. 

I didn't get any sleep. Not after the fight with the monster. 

I waited till it turned 5:40 and got up because I knew I wouldn't get any sleep and also, I should be up in a few minutes.

I go to the bathroom finish my business and get dressed. I was up early and I decided to cook breakfast. I strode to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. I looked at the contents in it.

I finally settled for some sunny-side-up eggs and a chicken sandwich. I also squeezed some fresh orange juice.

I was grilling some sandwiches when I heard a faint voice.

"Mommy," I turned instantly. I saw Mel standing near the refrigerator rubbing his eye with his fist and yawning. He was still wearing his blue pajama set and his hair was all disheveled. Why was he up so early?
