Chapter 330

Author: Kayla Sango
The bedroom was a state of organized chaos, with two large suitcases spread open on our king-size bed and clothes scattered everywhere as we tried to decide what to pack for our trip to Verdania. It was Matt's first birthday, and Nate was about to be officially introduced to my parents.

Packing which was something that had always been simple for me, had turned into a much more complex operation now that we had to consider not just our own needs, but also those of our newest four-legged family member.

Ginger was sprawled right in the middle of the mess, occasionally grabbing a sock or a piece of clothing that fell to the floor and turning it into her personal toy, completely oblivious to our serious attempts at organization. Her golden fur looked striking against the navy-blue duvet, and she seemed perfectly content being the center of attention while we organized our lives around her.

"Are you absolutely sure Ginger can fly?" I asked for the tenth time in two hours, stopping mid-

  • Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire   Chapter 364

Three Days Ago, Madeline's POV On the day of my wedding, everything around me seemed wrapped in an aura of anticipation. The atmosphere in the rented mansion where the ceremony would take place was thick with tension and expectation, as if every corner carried the responsibility of making this day perfect. My heart beat erratically, and every thought was a whirlwind of nerves and excitement. I ran my hand over the cool silk, smoothing out an imaginary wrinkle in my dress. For the third time. Or the fourth. I was nervous. Very nervous. This was the most important day of my life, and absolutely nothing had the right to go off plan. Not even an imaginary wrinkle in my dress. Facing the mirror, I stared at the reflection of a more dreamy version of myself. The wedding dress, a vision of elegance, fell softly to the floor in layers of fabric that seemed to float. There was something almost magical in every detail, from the lace bodice to the delicate embroidery adorning the skirt. The

Madeline's POV "How about we have dinner at the main restaurant tonight?" Apollo suggested while we were still finishing getting ready after the pool incident. "I'm tired of room service." "You're tired of room service?" I laughed, adjusting my dress and watching him in the mirror. "Who are you, and what did you do with the man who ordered Kensington wine like it was water?" "Touché," he smiled, stepping up behind me in the mirror to fix the necklace around my neck. His fingers brushed lightly against the nape of my neck, sending a shiver down my spine. "But sometimes it's good to see other people, don't you think? Interact with the real world." "The real world?" I repeated, turning to face him. "I thought we'd agreed this place was our alternate reality." "Maybe it was time to test how our alternate reality behaved around other people," he replied, and there was something in his tone I couldn't quite name. The main restaurant was elegant without being pretentious, with tab

  • Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire   Chapter 362

Madeline's POV I had been wrapped in a robe on the deck, holding a glass of wine I'd barely touched, when I heard the bungalow door open. The weight of my conversation with Olivia still pressed against my chest like a knot that refused to loosen, and no matter how paradisiacal this place was, nothing seemed capable of easing the feeling that I was living inside a bubble about to burst. That was when I heard familiar footsteps approaching. Apollo walked into the bungalow with a different energy—almost radiant. He was wearing a light white linen shirt that only emphasized the tan he'd gotten under the Maldivian sun that day, and there was a satisfied smile on his face that told me his meeting had gone well. "Aphrodite!" he called, heading toward me. "You won't believe what I saw when I—" He stopped short when he really looked at me. "Hey. What happened?" I tried to smile, but I knew I hadn't managed to hide my mood completely. "Nothing," I said with a shrug. "I was just out h

  • Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire   Chapter 361

Madeline's POV Apollo had been gone for over an hour on a work call he'd promised would be quick, and since then I'd found myself sitting there, staring at the impeccably cleaned room, feeling his absence in a way that unsettled me. I shouldn't have missed him. We shouldn't have gotten to this point so fast. And yet, there was something about his presence that had already become familiar, and comforting even. The way he filled a room. The way he smiled when he saw me. The way he made even silence feel easy between us. I was lost in those thoughts when my phone vibrated on the nightstand, the sound irritatingly loud in the quiet bungalow. I walked over without much enthusiasm, expecting to see yet another call I'd been systematically ignoring since I ran from the wedding. My father. My mother. Vivian. Even Dominic, probably using different numbers, trying to convince me to come home and marry him. But when I looked at the screen, the name made me hesitate. Olivia. My cousi

  • Hired a Gigolo, Got a Billionaire   Chapter 360

Madeline's POV I woke up to sunlight streaming through the bungalow's massive glass windows. The sound of waves gently hitting the stilts blended with the distant call of birds, creating the perfect soundtrack for what felt like a dream. For a moment, I just lay there, taking in the view—the turquoise-blue ocean stretching endlessly toward the horizon, so clear I could see the sandy bottom even from this height. It was impossible not to feel like I'd woken up inside a postcard. When I finally got up and stepped onto the deck, I found Apollo already awake. He was wearing only swim trunks that highlighted his already unfair physique, sipping coffee at a table clearly set by room service. He looked completely at ease, reading something on his tablet and occasionally glancing at the scenery, as if waking up in a tropical paradise were just another ordinary morning. 'Who is this man?' I wondered as I watched him. He didn't just look comfortable in all that luxury. He looked like he

Madeline's POV I hadn't been able to fall back asleep after he went out to take the call. I pretended to be asleep when I heard his careful footsteps leaving the bed, but the truth was I stayed wide awake, listening to fragments of the conversation drifting in from the deck. I couldn't hear everything, but certain words reached me with unsettling clarity: "board," "family," "Matt," and, most of all, an excited female voice shouting something about a baby. Zoey. That was the name I caught. A woman named Zoey talking about first words, about "Daddy" and "Mommy." Lying there in the dark, it was impossible not to connect the dots in a way that made my stomach twist. A man taking calls in the middle of the night, talking about family, about a baby, with a woman who clearly had enough intimacy to call him at any hour. The conclusions felt almost too obvious. When he finally came back inside, trying to be quiet, I kept my eyes closed for a few seconds longer. But the tightness in my c
