Chapter 04: She Don't remember anything!

It was a pleasant morning in Thunder bay and the sun shone brightly. In a special ward of "The Max" a girl was sleeping soundly. The sunrays falling on her face piercing the glass window's made her look more lively, then her usual lifeless exterior.

For the first time in seven years, the previous day she had opened her eyes!...and that also when she was going to die!

Mrs. Wade stayed by her side whole night guarding her except for an hour break she took in-between, when she was feeling extremely exhausted. She would be back by afternoon and meanwhile, two other nurses were assigned to look after the girl.

Natalie was dreaming of her parents when her mind dragged her to reality and she suddenly woke up to the sound of those two nurses, who were discussing something.

She made sure not to move or open her eyes and continued listening to them, so as to get a better idea about the situation she was in.

The first nurse said " what a pity! she is enduring so much of pain at such a young age!"

The Second nurse nodded in agreement.

She continued "what about her now? I am worried about her future....from past 7 years nobody came to claim her... leave family, not even relative or friends!!!"

Natalie felt a stiffness in her heart listening to their conversation. She couldn't figure out, what was going on! Earlier, she was under the impression that she might have time travelled and came 7 years in  future. But, their conversation made it clear that all those years she was in that hospital!!!!!

Tears welled up in his eyes but she dared not to let them fall, as her smallest mistake might lead her to disaster. She ward off her thoughts and continued listening to them.

The two nurses were now talking about their daily affairs, nothing that could be of any use to her.

Suddenly, one of the nurses mentioned she heard that two policemen from Thunder bay police station would be visiting, to record her statement. As nobody was aware of her identity, the details provided by her might be helpful in identifying her.

Natalie freezed listening to their conversation, firstly, it was impossible for her to believe that her family didn't came to claim her. If as per their statements, they have published about her in newspaper.....then..her family should have been by her side. Second, She knew her father would have got the whole province on its toes, if something happened to her.

As,Thunder bay was not far from Dryden, and she was the Only heir of the Famous SAMRAT family.....the only child of his parents!!!  Then how come she is left there to be treated as an orphan?

Her mind was exploding with thoughts and as she continued listening to them...it was clear that something has gone terribly wrong with her family...or else why would she land up in the woods instead of her home?

It was clear from what these nurses said, that she was not rescued from Dryden but from the woods near the hospital, and that also with a severe head injury.

They had a tight security in their mansion so it wasn't making any sense how she landed up in a forest far from her home, without having any memory of it?

As, Natalie was fussing over her thoughts, she heard the footsteps of someone approaching so, she ward off her thoughts to hear who it was.

Dr. Andrews came to the special ward to check on the condition of Natalie and after seeing she was still sleeping, he left after instructing the two nurses to inform him immediately if she wake up.

After Dr. Andrews left Natalie thought to herself its enough now!...She can't continue laying like that and keep pretending! She needs to do something...so after making up her mind of what needs to be done. She opened her eyes!

The two nurses saw she was gaining consciousness...so one of them ran immediately to call Dr. Andrews, while the other one stayed there to help Natalie get up and sit, as she was still very weak.

Natalie Samrat was not an ordinary girl, since childhood her IQ level was much higher than the children of her age and this was one of the reason she never went to a primary school!

Her father had arranged everything at home. He always told her that being blessed comes with a price...not all people are uncomfortable being around a genius!

Her father was also a genius but definitely Natalie surpassed him in every aspect...which made her parent's behaviour more protective towards her!

Natalie was just 12 , when she had completed her high school education and was ready for graduation level but she was tired of being lonely and confined to her home. So, she insisted and her parents got her admitted to a High school near their home , but on the condition that she will hide her talent and behave like a normal kid.

That's why, even after being shocked initially , Natalie was able to collect herself and come up with a plan to deal with her current situation. A normal person would have lost hope in that situation but she was much calm in her mind... planning what to be done next.

Dr. Andrews rushed to the special ward and saw the young girl staring at nurses with a puzzled look on her face.

She looked scared but didn't scream like the last time. Her features were beautiful but due to weakness she was looking not more than a corpse!

Dr. Andrews went and sat on a stool beside her bed, and with a smile on his face asked her " how are you feeling, my child?"

He tried to sound as gentle as he could, but got no response from her.

So,He spoke again" Are you feeling better then yesterday?"

The young girl nodded her head slowly in affirmation.

Dr. Andrews and everyone around had a sigh of relief.... atleast she was negotiating.

Dr. Andrews was about to say something else, but before he could ...he heard a weak and timid voice "Can you tell me...who am I? And....wh...what I..a...m... doing...here?"

Everyone-  ".…."

He was shocked!!! and so was everyone around him!

The response from the pale girl was enough to struck as a thunder bolt to them. They were expecting to know from her about herself but, the situation turned out to be totally opposite from their expectations!

He quickly understood the situation and with a smile said " Ah! that!....you see..you met with an accident and hit your head...so, its totally normal to suffer from memory loss for sometime....but i assure you...if you take proper medication and rest.... you will be fine soon!!!

And you will remember everything!"

He tried his best to be as reasonable as possible with the young girl, and felt relieved when he saw her face relax a bit.

After, doing a thorough check-up , he handed over a prescription to the two nurses and asked them to follow it, henceforth.

Leaving the young girl there with them, he stoodup to go to the Head's office and gave the report to him.

" The girl seems stable but.....She seems to have suffered memory loss"

The Head was clearly astonished at the news. To this, Dr. Andrews confirmed " yes sir, she Don't remember anything....not even her NAME!"
