I was still looking down but I could feel his eyes on me. I was still holding Mae's arm. She patted my hand to calm me, I didn't like social situations most of the time. I especially ackward ones. I felt my cheeks getting hot. Logan stepped around Mae and grabbed my free hand. I quickly looked up at him, his eyes were filled with exciment and curiosity. I looked back down at my pink converse sneakers. "How old are you?" He asked softly. I leaned into Mae more, feeling more uncomfortable. She was looking at Max though oddly, so I didnt really have a buffer. I thought it heard her mumble something but I couldn't exactly make it out. I was to busy being all to aware of how close Logan was getting to me. "I'm seventeen." I whispered softly. Tugging on Mae, to try and get her attention again. "When is you're birthday?" Logan asked me another question. Mae let's out a sigh, with relief laced all in it. With out taking her eyes of Max, she answered for me. "She turns eighteen this sunday." Mae sounded even calmer than before. "Is this youre beta?" Mae asked Logan. Logan nodding his head. She looked at Max again gently, and let out a chuckle. "The moon goddess works in mysterious ways." She leaned into me and looked up at the ceiling. She turned to look at me and gave me a hug. She let out a soft cry, Max walked over closing the gap between Mae and himself. He hushed her and try to calm her by rubbing her back. As Mae was trying to calm down, from relief, I hope. The only thing I kept thinking about, is how I'm stuck in a man sandwich. I looked up at Logan. who had finally stopped looking at me and equally looked as puzzled as I felt. Logan cleared his throat, "Max?" Max snapped up and looked a Logan apologetically. "Will you ladies excuse us?" Logan asked, mostly looking at me. I quietly nodded. "If you'd like, I can bring your pizza to our table?" Mae asked, mostly Max, politely. Max nodded and Logan had to drag him by his arm to step outside to talk. I looked at Mae. She was still staring at them walking why, while picking up there pizza tray. She was very cheerful as we walked back to the table. I sat down next to her and watched her as she was staring at the entrance way. I slammed my hands on the table, and watched her jump. "What the hell is going on with you?" I hollered at her. She looked down at pizza, all guilty like. "I found him." She whispered. "You're mate?" I asked. She nodded her head. "Who?" "Max." She smiled. I hugged her tightly, I was so happy for her. But than it hit me. "You have to go." I said sadly. She nodded, "Yeah. As soon as Aplha Logan talks to Alpha David." I felt tears sting my eyes. And I could see tears in hers. I gripped her in a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you." I whispered. We stayed like that when guys walked back in. I couldn't believe I was about to lose my bestfriend.Isabelle I grab Logan's hand under the table as I continue to take to the girls at the breakfast table. His hand is closing around mine briefly before having me rest my hand on his theigh while he plates our breakfast, passing sides and entrée around the table, family style. He slides my plate closer to me, and I lean down to take a bite. Listening to the others talk and catch up as I eat. I feel Aspen creeping in the back of my mind. 'Hi Aspen.' I say to him calmly, he acts as if I jumped him. 'Isabelle, I wasn't expecting you to be so atuned. I'm just doing what Logan asked. Don't mind me.' He bows his head at me. I take time to his admire his wolf, his bold and big like I'd imagine he would be. I smile and continue to eat as if nothing was happening in my mind right now. 'And what was it that Logan asked of you?' I go up to him and get closer. I feel his wolf enjoy this interaction, probably more than he should. 'I like you,' he snout brushed through my hair, even thoug
Logan I woke up to an empty bed, I immediately shot out of bed and used my mindlink to try to look for Isabelle. I sense her frustration. I quickly leave and grab a shirt, putting it on as I walk out the door. I start down the stairs quickly. "Alpha," Anna jumps as I brush past her. "Luna wanted me to inform you that she is in Luna's garden. Shall I bring you both breakfast?" "Thank you, Anna," I say cordially and brush past her to head to the garden. Not full answering her question. When I get through the door, I see Isabelle staring down at her relfection. I can feel her anger and Willow's resitance. Even Aspen is alert, trying to help me gauge the situation before we head into it. "Isabelle?" I call to her hesitantly, and she turns to me in tears. I look at her fully, her dark aburn girls in a messy bun on her head, the green sun dress making her look innocently lethal. The sheer beauty of her without her even trying, even as her forrest green eyes are magnified by her tears.
Isabelle "I love you, belle." He whispers to me, brushing strands of hair out of my face. My breath catches as he searches my eyes. I'm trying to gauge my response. I look at him for a very long time before I speak. "My Mom used to call me that." I whisper softly, 'it's french for beautiful." "I know," he whispers, matching my level as I try to process what's happening. "Willow told you?" I look down at my hands. "Willow told me." He confrimed, "when she came to check on Aspen, they are both itching for a run. But waiting to make sure you are capable of something like that first." I nod my head in response. "I don't know how to feel about this." I tell him as I start to pick at my fingernails, the anxiety of being unsure making me uncomfotable to the point where I bring my hands to my mouth to start chewing my nails. Logan gently grabs my hands and pulls them away from my mouth, and keeps them in his. "You don't have to know how you feel about it right now, Belle. Y
Logan I helped her walk to the kitchen, gently holding her waist and her arm. My nose brushes into her hair, and I feel her sigh contently under my touch. Lidsney comes in right as I get Isabelle settled at the stool on the island. "Hey guys." She says to both of us, bringing in her medical bag. "How are you feeling, Iz?" I raise my eyebrows, but Isabelle waves me off. "A little hungry but overall okay, just tired." Isabelle replies simply. "That sounds about right, giving everything you've been through." Lidsney takes out her blood preassure cuff as she talks and starts checking Isabelle's vitals. "Have you heard from your wolf?" "Yes, but she's been queit. She does this when there's a problem to be solved. She checks in every now and then, to ask a question, check something, or..." Isabelle's coughs and looks up at me, then down at her hands and starts blushing. "to peek in on Logan's wolf." Her voice drops to a whisper, but I smile, and I feel Aspen pur a little. I turn
Isabelle I gasp at what he says. I think it was the first time I had ever really heard it. Besides the fact that he said it while I was in a coma. I kiss him softly. "I love you too." I whisper, I feel him go still underneath me. He kisses me again rougher. I pull myself away and rest my forehead to his. "Logan, I need to tell you something. And it's going to sound crazy." I look at him for reassurance. "Crazy or not, we are in this together." He looks at me and touches my face. He helps me up from the bathroom and guides me to the bed. He sits next to me softly and reaches for my pajamas. "What is it, Iz?" "I saw Mom, and we talked about everything. And she said something to me that I can't seem to understand." I look at him puzzled. He looks back at me with furrowed brows, confused as well. "She said, 'Please try to remember the day I died. It'll be your most valuable weapon.' What does that even mean?" I look at him. "Well, do you remember what happened?" He asks me, I
Logan Isabelle, touching my face in the shower and breathing me in, cracks something open in my chest. I press my forehead to hers, equally breathing her in. Lavender and vanilla flood my senses as I feel the tears sting behind my eyes. "Shh, handsome." She kisses my cheek. "It's okay, I'm home now." She brushes her nose against mine. "I never left your side. Not once." I whisper to her, tears and the shower spray covering my face. "I know, handsome. I heard you." She replies, and it makes my breath catch. "You heard me?" I ask, shaking. She just nods her head and kisses me again. Her lips warm and plush against mine, its almost intoxicating. "We need to be careful, beautiful." I warn her. "You're not cleared for that kind of activity." "Doesn't mean I can't kiss my husband and my mate. Show him my love." She whispers against my lips with a smile. But I freeze underneath her touch. "You're what?" I croak. She leans back with furrowed eye brows and tilts her head in confusio
"David's plan is simple. If Isabelle is not marked by Friday, he will force you to reject Logan. If you are marked, he will inject you with a dose of wolfsbane and some random male omega. That way, he can get the omega to impregnate you and plant doubt in Logan's head. Then David will take Logan ou
Logan Isabelle gracfully left the dining area to go into the kitchen. I looked back towards Damian and took a breath. "Thank you for your candor." I say to Damian. "Are you willing to talk about a game plan with us?" I gesture. Damian nods but holds a finger up. "On one condition, if Alpha Dav
Logan I walk into my office and look at the time. It's three in the morning. I start in on paperwork and some other things that I have neglected for a little while. A small knock broke my concentration. "Come in," I call. I expected to see Isabelle or even Lauren, but instead, it was Ellen. "Lun
Logan After listening to the conversation between Isabelle and Ellen, I decided to leave my office and head back to the apartment. Tapping Max on the shoulder before I left. When I arrived, I decided to grab a book of the shelf to unwind with while I waited on Isabelle. When Isabelle walked thr
