I hear the blue birds outside of my window, as I grasp at the last couple minutes of sleep. Seven days. Wishing the moon goddess to be kind to me, and grant me another hour. I was not ready to face the day. I slowly open my eyes and turn to face my window, as I can see the sun poking through my light blue curtains. I glance at my phone on the nightstand, two unread text messages. Mae: I'll be there in 20 to help. You better be up! Shit, she sent that five minutes ago. Mae has been my bestfriend since grade school. She was the daughter of my father's, Alpha David of the Moon Waterfall pack, best gamma. I love Mae like a sister. She had already turned 18 and was looking for her mate while at the same time training to take over for her dad if need be. I'm not surprised though she manage to get the week off to help with the planning. I was shy and hated parties, if I had it my way I'd stay in the library for my birthday this Sunday. I rolled out of bed to open the curtains to let the morning sun officially in. Then I hopped to the shower, past my small living room. By the time I was done, Mae was sitting on the couch thumbing through one of the seven big white binders she brought. "Ummm.... good morning." I said to her causally with a hint of sarcasm. "Hey, I let myself. I left coffee and chocolate crossiants by the clothes you laid out. When you're done I'd thought we start with the binders? Two are mine, and five are from Luna Ellen." "Sounds good." I nodded. Ellen was my step mom, she married my dad when I was 10. My dad lost my mom when I was five. And Ellen was rejected by her mate because he had family with another women in a different pack. When dad meet Ellen, he just felt like he need to take her away, and eventually they grew to love each other. "Is she meeting us?" I called out to Mae, checking my outfit in the mirror. Jeans and a comfy comic tee my favorite. "No, she said she wanted to give a day. Two max! To pick out what you want and like, before she starts helping and acting out you're vision." I walked back out to the living room to take a seat next to her, and grabbed one of the binders. Ellen was kind, she didn't try to replace my mom. She just tried to pick up were she left off. And she didn't make me call her mom or nothing. But eventually I started to call her Ellie. Because I equally grew to love her. The binder I picked up, had color pallets, floral arrangements, and food menus. "What binder do you have?" I asked Mae. "Music, table and dance floor patterns, and favors." "I think we should start with color pallets first, and go from there. Do we have a binder of theme ideas?" Mae nodded, as she flipped the cover of three other binders to find it. And than scooted close. "What kind of theme were you thinking Izzy?" I rested my head on her shoulder. She only used my nickname when she sensed I was gonna get stressed. Her wolf, Jade, was good at sensing me. Its like the moon goddess knew we needed each other. She flipped through the pages, passing theme after theme. Finally I saw one that caught my eye. "This one!" I said with excitement. Mae laughed and nodded in agreement.Isabelle I grab Logan's hand under the table as I continue to take to the girls at the breakfast table. His hand is closing around mine briefly before having me rest my hand on his theigh while he plates our breakfast, passing sides and entrée around the table, family style. He slides my plate closer to me, and I lean down to take a bite. Listening to the others talk and catch up as I eat. I feel Aspen creeping in the back of my mind. 'Hi Aspen.' I say to him calmly, he acts as if I jumped him. 'Isabelle, I wasn't expecting you to be so atuned. I'm just doing what Logan asked. Don't mind me.' He bows his head at me. I take time to his admire his wolf, his bold and big like I'd imagine he would be. I smile and continue to eat as if nothing was happening in my mind right now. 'And what was it that Logan asked of you?' I go up to him and get closer. I feel his wolf enjoy this interaction, probably more than he should. 'I like you,' he snout brushed through my hair, even thoug
Logan I woke up to an empty bed, I immediately shot out of bed and used my mindlink to try to look for Isabelle. I sense her frustration. I quickly leave and grab a shirt, putting it on as I walk out the door. I start down the stairs quickly. "Alpha," Anna jumps as I brush past her. "Luna wanted me to inform you that she is in Luna's garden. Shall I bring you both breakfast?" "Thank you, Anna," I say cordially and brush past her to head to the garden. Not full answering her question. When I get through the door, I see Isabelle staring down at her relfection. I can feel her anger and Willow's resitance. Even Aspen is alert, trying to help me gauge the situation before we head into it. "Isabelle?" I call to her hesitantly, and she turns to me in tears. I look at her fully, her dark aburn girls in a messy bun on her head, the green sun dress making her look innocently lethal. The sheer beauty of her without her even trying, even as her forrest green eyes are magnified by her tears.
Isabelle "I love you, belle." He whispers to me, brushing strands of hair out of my face. My breath catches as he searches my eyes. I'm trying to gauge my response. I look at him for a very long time before I speak. "My Mom used to call me that." I whisper softly, 'it's french for beautiful." "I know," he whispers, matching my level as I try to process what's happening. "Willow told you?" I look down at my hands. "Willow told me." He confrimed, "when she came to check on Aspen, they are both itching for a run. But waiting to make sure you are capable of something like that first." I nod my head in response. "I don't know how to feel about this." I tell him as I start to pick at my fingernails, the anxiety of being unsure making me uncomfotable to the point where I bring my hands to my mouth to start chewing my nails. Logan gently grabs my hands and pulls them away from my mouth, and keeps them in his. "You don't have to know how you feel about it right now, Belle. Y
Logan I helped her walk to the kitchen, gently holding her waist and her arm. My nose brushes into her hair, and I feel her sigh contently under my touch. Lidsney comes in right as I get Isabelle settled at the stool on the island. "Hey guys." She says to both of us, bringing in her medical bag. "How are you feeling, Iz?" I raise my eyebrows, but Isabelle waves me off. "A little hungry but overall okay, just tired." Isabelle replies simply. "That sounds about right, giving everything you've been through." Lidsney takes out her blood preassure cuff as she talks and starts checking Isabelle's vitals. "Have you heard from your wolf?" "Yes, but she's been queit. She does this when there's a problem to be solved. She checks in every now and then, to ask a question, check something, or..." Isabelle's coughs and looks up at me, then down at her hands and starts blushing. "to peek in on Logan's wolf." Her voice drops to a whisper, but I smile, and I feel Aspen pur a little. I turn
Isabelle "He doesn't deserve that title." He told me through gritted teeth, his tone disapporving. "And you do?" I asked me, very asertively. Trying to remain calm as the argument started to upset me. "What is that supposed to mean?" He asked me in a smaller quiter tone. "It means the ti
Isabelle "Now you think it's time we talk?" I question her and roll my eyes. I loved and missed my mum crazily, but this was getting ridiculous. "I understand you're frustrated," she began, but I cut her off. "Frustrated? No, I was frustrated last week when this shit show started. I am beyo
Logan I sat there in the waiting room for what felt like an enternity. Anna came in with some snacks and looked around the room. She very sheepishly walked up to me. Knealing down in front of me, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sir?" Anna spoke. "Has Luna come and found you yet?" She was ver
Logan "Please, baby girl, please come back to me." I leaned down into Isabelle's ear. I whispered my plea into her ear, praying she would hear me. "Please don't go. I still need you." I begged, "please, I love you." Isabelle has been in a coma for at least two days, and I haven't left her side.
