"I'm not entirely sure on whether or not I'll be able to pull it off just yet, but I'm hoping to finish the preparations for the initiation ceremony today. That way, I won't need to worry about supervising all of you while you are out of the house.'
We were currently on the way back to my house, once again, with Arthur walking ahead of us. He looked like he was in his own world, like his spirits had definitely been lifted in comparison to the way that they had been when we had been on the way back to the packhouse. I didn't realise that breakfast was such an important part of his day. But then again, he was a growing child. I did not have much experience with them, but when I had been young, I had practically eaten everything in the house. Perhaps he was the same.

My heart was pounding in my chest with such an intensity that I was almost certain of the fact that it was about to rip right out of my chest. I heard a door close somewhere in the distance, and without doubt, and knew that it was Samantha. I didn’t know how to explain it, but it was like every atom, every fibre of my being, was so in tuned with her that I knew where she was and what she was doing without even having to think about it. I knew there was something that wasn’t exactly normal, but that was why I was doing what I was doing. As much as I wanted to get her parents out of my house, I wanted to keep her in it. I stood in the Alpha's living room, Julie standing beside me, while Arthur was already standing on the porch. I didn't need to speak to him to know that he wasn't happy with what was going on, but he knew, just as well as I did, that there was nothing that we could do.
