"If you don't sign this contract, it says that your dad has to be my work slave in the contract he signed.' Sdrian smiled.

"You wouldn't want that for your diabetic dad, would you?" Adrian said.

"How do you know about that?" She said through her teeth.

"I do my home work, sweetheart." He said, looking at the sweat rolling down her cleavage.

"Don't call me that." She said.

"Whatever you want, sweetheart?" He smirked.

"So you left your busy life to come and rage bait me?" She scoffed.

"I'm not that...., busy..., besides revenge is way more important than any work I have to do." He smiled. "So, are you going to sign or make things more difficult for him?" He gestured towards her father.

"Who is going to take care of him." She said.

"As soon as you sign that, your dad is going to live happily ever after in Dubai. Away..., from all this...." He looked around the kitchen, and his eyes landed on the leaking roof. "Poverty." He finished.

"I was going to fix that." She defended.

"Sure you were." He smiled devilishly.

She looked at her dad one more time before saying, "Where do I sign?"

One of the men who looked like some sort of attorney pointed to some dotted line. She bent over the table, and she signed.

"Here is your ring, Mrs. Cross." One of the men brought out a gigantic diamond ring in a box.

"What do you mean, Mrs. Cross? I just signed a contract?" She said.

"Yes, a contract to be my law fully wedded wife." Adrian smiled.

"No." She sank into a chair.

"Yes." Adrian smiled.

"Get Mr. Lake dressed, he has a flight in about an hour." Adrian said.

One of Adrian's men pushed her father through the door as Vivian desperately tried to understand.

"Are you going to get up, or are you going to wait till that rusted plank infects you?" Adrian said.

Vivian looked at with tears in her eyes. She couldn't argue anymore. She had already signed the contract. And her father's life was in her hands.

She stood up.

"That's a good girl." Adrian said and signalled his men to follow him.

She was led into a car, and Adrian entered shortly after. The car ride was quiet as Vivian fought back her tears.

When they reached their destination, Vivian thought she was in an estate, but it was just Cross Villa.

She did not want to seem shocked so she just walked behind Adrian as they entered into the house.

"Welcome to your new home." He said.

"Where is my room?" Vivian frowned as if unimpressed.

"William...." A man who looked like he was living rhe best of his fifties walked towards them.

"Yes master." He said with a smile.

"Show Vivian the room." Adeiann waved him off.

She followed William to an elevator which led them too the 5th floor.

"Why would a house belonging to one person need an elevator?" She thought.

"Here it is ma'am." William smiled as he ushered her to a room.

"Thanks." She said.

As she entered the room it seemed like she was awarded the master bedroom, with an aquarium and ceiling to floor windows. The bed was twice a king sized and it was bigger than her whole apartment building. But there was one problem.....

Everything was in black.

"This man forced me into marry him and he dis not bother getting what I like."She frowned.

She opened the wardrobes and saw men's clothing.

She was sure William showed her the wrong room. She decided to take a shower as she always did at home.

She grabbed a robe and entered the bathroom.

There was an indication for hot and cold on the shower. When was the last time she took a bathe with hot water?

She took her time in the bathroom with the body wash she found in the bathroom.

She stepped out of the bathroom with her hair wet and she was feeling totally refreshed until she saw Adrian sitting on her bed.

"Why the fuck are you in my room?" She said holding her robe tightly.

"You mean our room?" He smirked as he leaned against the bed. "It's in the contract. I can't possibly sleep alone when I have a wife, don't you think?" He said.

"I can't do this tonight." She walked to the walk in closet and started looking for something to wear.

She settled for a gigantic T shirt because she couldn't find anything that was supposed to be hers.

She slipped into it and walked out of the closet.

"You're wearing my shirt." He said.

"Wow...., The award for stating the obvious goes to Adrian Cross once again." She smiled sarcasticly. "You should keep up the good work, you are really good at this. You should make this a hobby." She wiped the smile off his face.

"You just love getting involved with me don't you? Sharing a bed wasn't enough?" He said faking innocence.

"Excuse you.....? I couldn't find my clothes."She frowned.

"Did you check the left side of the closet?" He asked.

She did not.

"I was too tired okay?" She folded her arms making them support her unprotected breasts.

He stood up and walked toward her. Then he took off his shirt revealing the tattoo below his waist.

"Uh...., What are you doing??" She said.

"I use the shower too you know." He said as he moved closer.

"Don't you know something called personal space?" She said as she hit the dressing mirror.

"I do. But I choose not to abide by it." He followed her until they were less than two feet apart.

"You could have chosen to make me suffer...., why did you make me marry you?" She stared into his eyes.

"Vivian, you just got here." He said with a smile.

"You wouldn't want to make your wife suffer would you?"

"You think so?"

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    THE WOMAN HE COULDN'T FIND

Adrian Cross was losing his mind. And for the first time in his life, he couldn't do a damn thing about it.It had been almost twenty-four hours since Vivian left their house, and he still had no idea where she was.No address. No location. No message telling him she was safe.Nothing.He had called her so many times that he had stopped counting. He had sent messages, left voicemails, and even tried calling from his office phone when she stopped answering his personal number.Every attempt had ended the same way.Silence.His wife had disappeared from his life, and he was sitting in his office watching it happen."Call Stacy again."Daniel, who stood in front of his desk holding a tablet, slowly raised his head."Sir, I've already tried.""Then try again!""I did. Her phone goes straight to voicemail."Adrian slammed his palm against the desk."Then call her from another number!""Sir—""DO IT, DANIEL!"Daniel fell silent. For several seconds, the only sound in the office was Adrian's

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    THE WOMAN WHO CLAIMED HIS BABY

Adrian barely slept that night.Every time he closed his eyes, he saw Vivian sitting on their bed with tears running down her cheeks, looking at him as though he were a stranger.I don't know you anymore. Her words had followed him everywhere. He had heard them while pacing his study. He had heard them while calling Daniel to demand updates on the investigation. He had even heard them when he finally went upstairs and found Vivian lying on her side, facing away from him.He had wanted to hold her.He had wanted to explain everything again. But what could he say that he hadn't already said?Someone was deliberately destroying his marriage, and no matter how many times he insisted that the messages were lies, the evidence kept getting worse.First, the pictures. Then the recordings. Now, a claim that Shannon had been pregnant with his child.Adrian rubbed his face and glanced at the clock.5:38 a.m.He hadn't slept for more than an hour.Beside him, Vivian shifted slightly beneath the c

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    THE MESSAGES THAT BROKE HER

Adrian Cross had never hated his office more than he did that morning. For three days, his life had revolved around the same scandal. Every time his legal team made progress, another photograph appeared. Every time his security team traced a lead, it seemed to end with an anonymous account or an uncooperative source.Someone was determined to destroy his marriage. And Adrian was running out of patience."Tell me you have something useful," he said, staring at the man seated across from his desk. His head of security, Daniel, placed a folder on the table."We've traced some of the original photographs to two accounts. Both were created recently, and the people behind them used methods that make identification difficult. We're still investigating.""Still investigating?" Adrian repeated coldly."Sir, whoever did this knew what they were doing. The photographs were taken from different angles, and some were released hours apart. Whoever has them may have been following you for a while."

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    THE WORLD THINKS HE CHEATED

The sound of the front door opening made Vivian sit up.She had been staring at the same spot on the bedroom wall for almost twenty minutes, trying not to look at her phone. It hadn't stopped buzzing since the scandal broke, and every time the screen lit up, she felt a fresh wave of anxiety wash over her.She had eventually switched it off.She couldn't take another headline.Another photograph.Another stranger telling her what was happening in her marriage. The door downstairs closed."Vivian?"Adrian's voice. She closed her eyes briefly. He was home.A few seconds later, she heard his footsteps coming up the stairs. They were quick, almost hurried, and she could tell he was looking for her."Vivian?""I'm upstairs."Her voice came out quieter than she intended. The footsteps grew louder. Then Adrian appeared in the doorway. He was still wearing his work clothes, but his tie was loose, and his hair looked as though he had run his hands through it several times. His expression change

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    THE SCANDAL

Adrian Cross was having a good morning. For once, he had woken up without his phone ringing beside his head. He had eaten breakfast with his wife, kissed her forehead before leaving the house, and promised to return early enough for dinner.More importantly, he had actually meant it.He wasn't going to spend the entire day buried in meetings. He wasn't going to sit in his office until midnight while Vivian waited for him at home. And he certainly wasn't going to allow another business emergency to steal the little time he had finally decided to give his family. His family. The thought still felt strange sometimes. But in the best possible way.Adrian stepped out of the elevator on the executive floor, adjusting his cufflinks as he walked toward his office."Good morning, Mr. Cross.""Morning.""Good morning, sir.""Morning."He greeted his employees without slowing down, carrying the same calm expression he wore every day. His security detail followed a few steps behind him before sto

  • His Billion Dollar Bride    JUST YOU AND ME

For the first time in weeks, Adrian woke up without reaching for his phone. It was a small thing.Almost insignificant. But for a man who had spent the last several weeks checking emails before his eyes were even fully open, it was practically a miracle. His phone was on the bedside table, vibrating every few seconds.Emails.Missed calls.Messages from his assistant.A reminder about a meeting scheduled for nine in the morning.Another reminder about a meeting scheduled for eleven. And a message from his chief financial officer asking him to review a document before the afternoon.Adrian ignored all of them.Instead, he turned his head toward the woman sleeping beside him.Vivian was curled up beneath the blanket, her hair spread across the pillow. One hand rested beneath her cheek, and the other was tucked comfortably against her stomach. She looked peaceful.Adrian smiled. He couldn't remember the last time he'd woken up and simply watched her sleep without feeling the immediate ne
