Saratan’s P.O.V

If he was just messing around or saying the truth, I’ll never know, because he drove off right after Dregen threatened to slap him upside the head.

I stood beside Dregen as he typed in a passcode close to the front door and after the doors beeped open, he walked in, not sparing me a glance.

Holy shit…this place is stunning and we’re only in the foyer. No wonder he can afford to pay up the losses I supposedly caused Feeders Corp.

But then I thought of the rumor that the house was haunted and the beautiful decorations seemed less fancy all of a sudden.

You only have to live here for a year, Saratan! Don’t think about anything else.

Still following Dregen—I guess he was intentionally walking slowly because of me—I made my way through the mansion and finally found him at the door of a study.

“I asked if you had any other rules.”

“No, Miss Credi. I have no other rules. Now leave me alone, I have more pressing things to do.”
