Chapter 28
"Tina, are you free this weekend?" My mother asks from the other side of the phone call.
"I'll check. Why Mum?" I ask curiously. It's strange for her to call me and ask if I'm free. Is she planning something?
"It's nothing. Just a friend of mine is holding a small party and wants me to bring you along." Mum explains vaguely.
I frown. Why does she want me to go?
"You can take Mint instead." I say. Knowing Panda, I doubt he will let me leave my duties.
"My friend last saw you when you were a baby and she's excited to see how you've grown up. Please Tina. Do it for me darling?" Mum pleads. She's using that desperate voice which she knows I can never refuse.
"Fine Mum." I sigh in defeat. "I'll come home on Saturday."
"That's all. Thank you darling." She sounds cheerful and a little too excited. What is she planning now?

I end up leaving the party early and Mum isn't pleased at all when I head out without her. Did I overthink? Maybe she didn't plan anything. Even if she did, meeting both Wade Rider and Panda King when I am dressed like this is the worst thing that could happen. My head is slightly hurting after being exposed to the loud music, dancing and drinks. We came in a taxi so I'll have to call another one to get home. It's still early and Mum will probably take longer so I can walk around for a while and clear my head. I'm still hungry after eating a lot of the snacks. Maybe the dancing made me burn it off. Walking out of the gates and onto the street, I check on my phone for the nearest shop. It's fifteen minutes away. Following the map on my phone, I walk down. "Tina, come out and talk to me." I groan and stand up. "Why Mum? There's nothing to tell you." "You didn't even wait to meet Bryan." She says through the door. Bryan? "Who?" As I get ready to go to the beach, I grin. Shall I ask Ciarra to come along? She mentioned that she has recently moved here so she doesn't know many people. "Help! Help! Someone is drowning!" The woman who was playing with Tin Gold earlier screams as she stumbles onto the shore.Panda King instantly stands up and runs towards her. "What did you say?"She stares up at him with big brown eyes and falls onto her knees on the sand. "Tin! Tin got hit by the wave!""What?!" Panda shouts loudly.Without a moment of hesitation, he runs towards the water and swims away. His heart is heavy and beating anxiously as he swims. Tin can't be hurt! Shivering, I wrap the blanket tighter around me. We will have to stay overnight here. Panda has been acting strange since earlier but I don't pay attention to it because he has been weird since we arrived at the beach. I know it's because of Ciarra.
