60. The Spreading Darkness

It took Layana a few seconds to realise what was happening, her eyes widened as she pushed him away, her eyes flashing as she raised her hand and slapped him across the face. Hard.

“How dare you!” she said her voice breaking, her eyes stinging, she wiped her lips making Kayden feel a pang of hurt at the gesture, was he so bad?

“I’m sorry… I… I don’t know what overcame me,” he said looking away, a frown on his face, he didn’t regret it… even if he apologised to her, he had liked that kiss, her lips were softer than he had imagined, she tasted sweet and tempting like something you never wanted to stop tasting… but the tears in her eyes stung.

“Declan was right… I shouldn’t have followed you,” she whispered, hurt clear in her voice, she turned and walked away, Kayden sighed running a hand through his hair. He had messed things up…

In a way I wish Aren would've told Declan that Kayden kissed Yana! But, it would only have helped the DL get more of an advantage over Declan! Dec, is who the DL wants! He sure is working through Kayden hard! That's a high concern since they need to be united, not bickering!
