The apartment remained silent as Brown and I waited for Baxter to return, my hands shook with fear even thinking about what Justin would have done if he found me here. I mean before I had run from his men when I found out about the wedding, that marriage would have been nothing but a business deal and not about love. But knowing I had run and forced him and his men to search around what appears to be the country to find me, who knows how I’ll be treated! What if he starts to hurt me out of anger and to show me what would happen if I ever tried to run again?!

The longer I would pace the apartment, the more my legs began to feel like jelly due to the worry spreading through my body, I knew if I didn’t sit down, I would fall over. Walking back over to the counter I had sat right before Justin allowed his presence to be known, my head this time placed on the counter and covered by my arms as I tried to calm my breathing. Why did I think running was a good idea?

After rushing around the room and only taking the things that I needed, were not so heavy that I wouldn’t be able to carry them and what I knew Baxter wouldn’t mind that I took, I close up the bag and begin to slip my shoes that were beside the bed onto my feet. Through my mad dash to leave, Baxter walks through the bedroom door spotting me in the middle of my second escape plan and similar to the first, I didn’t have any kind of plan on what I was doing or where I could go. “Princess, what are you doing?” He asked walking deeper into the room but still seeming to block my exit through the bedroom door as though he already knew the answer. “I thought you didn’t like questions.” Is all I say taking the bag into my hands and going to walk past him, it was breaking my heart in ways I didn’t have the energy to understand that I was leaving so I hoped if I remained cold, I could leave without bursting out crying. The moment I began to pass him, my upper arm is grabbed, and I’m pulled r

It felt great to wake up the next morning with more options for what to wear, the rather large wardrobe offering me time to look through and pick out what winter clothes I would wear, even though I didn’t think I would be leaving the apartment today. After I was ready, Baxter walked in the room, his clothes black and a different look in his eye, at first, I was worried he was planning to do something more sinister towards me, before he explained he was off to do a job today. But he was sure to reassure me that one of his men called Brown would stay behind to watch me, if anyone was to show up, Brown would know how to handle them. So, while I sat at the counter watching the city embracing winter and the promise of snow sitting in the clouds, the apartment was quiet. Brown, who seemed to be avoiding eye contact with me, sat on one of the sofa’s staring down at the ground. “It appears you’ve been handed the short straw.” I smiled breaking the awful silence that sat between us, Brow

After the incident by the window with Rose, Baxter helps her to put some of her new clothes away before slipping off to check what progress the guys had made. As he walked down the steps to his apartment, he couldn’t wipe the smirk that lingered on his lips, he had thought Rose had a different side to her and wanted to push it to see if she would fold and show her colours and now she had, he became even more consumed and obsessed with her, his craving to fully get to explore all that she was rang so loud in his mind, he didn’t know what held him back from fully sealing the deal. “You took your time Boss.” Turner commented using the last space of the countertop which wasn’t filled with the huge map of the hotel they were planning to hit next, the list of the guests getting placed beside it. “Rose had more to…unpack than we first expected.” Baxter replied with that same smirk on his lips, the moment they shared playing out in his mind over again, that side to her even more intoxicati

Walking back into the elevator to Baxter’s apartment, both of us holding tightly onto my new bags of clothes, it was a different kind of silence to the one we left in. With yesterday after the death of that Jefferson man, it of course affected me, I’d never seen anyone die in real life before and to lay there and have a front row seat, it was absolutely terrifying. But somehow, I had moved past it, I knew Baxter only did such a thing to protect me after Jefferson came onto me and after I backed away from him, hit me around the face, I could somewhat accept it. Now to have Baxter blatantly say that he has so many people who want him dead due to his line of work that I knew nothing about, I was left to stare at the situation I had ultimately, found myself in, in a different light. Was I doing the right and safe thing staying with him? Walking through the front door to his apartment, the same men that seem to always be here sat around the kitchen island, eating what appeared to be ta

The longer we remained in the car speeding down the road with this mysterious car hot on our tail, the faster my heart pounded in my chest and the fear budded into my mind. I had never been put into a situation such as this prior to meeting Baxter but now, I’ve been around guns twice in two days! I knew I couldn’t turn my head around to face the car, that would only alert the driver that we were aware we were being followed by him, but my eyes remained glued to the wing mirror watching as the car seemed to go into the middle of the road to see if it was safe to overtake before a car coming the opposite direction forced it back into the lane behind us, if this guy is trying to be inconspicuous, he isn’t doing a good job! “Who is this man?” I asked just feeling as though my heart was about to explode with how fast it was pumping in my chest, but for Baxter, he seemed somewhat calm and even slowed the car down slightly begging for this man to try and overtake. “Questions Princess.” Wa
