Wedding Planning

Lisa's POV: Two days earlier.

Today the club is packed. The loud music shaking the whole building. Drunk people, in every corner. Just enjoying or rather trying to destroy their lives.

Even with the crazy wig and extreme makeup I still hope no one can see me. It's very dangerous working at the club, there are so many people, and there's a good chance Harold's man or Neacal's are around here.

But even so. Me and Natasha, we still need the money to survive. Hiding won't help if the stomach is empty. I have to make sure we have some money to spare.

I move around the club, serving the drinks. Trying so hard not to spill them as I push through the crowd. And trying to keep focus with all the screaming.

“... They want him to get married," I hear a few man gossiping.

“ And they are choosing the bride for him..."

“ What's the point? Ethan has rejected every bride they chose for him. The man just doesn't want to settle down.“

" But you know the elders always get what they want. Or else there will be consequences for him and his pack. “

" But you know Mr Santos is very stubborn—”

" But if he wants to save his pack, he'll do whatever they tell him. “

I hand out the drinks and start heading back to the bar. Still processing what my ears just picked up.

" Don't tell me you're thinking, what I think you're thinking, “ Wolfe interrupts. She's my wolf. And we can communicate mentally. And we can both sense how the other feel. And she's the one who helps me most of the time.

" But this could be our chance. We don't have much time Wolfe before they find us. “ I tell her. But she still didn't conform to the idea. “Think about it Wolfe. If we can convince the elders, then we will be safe from Harold."

“How sure are you he won't kill us. And this is very dangerous for Natasha, “ she argues.

" Not as much as us getting caught. I'm sure as long we don't ruffle feathers, we will be fine, “ I say to her. She sighs as she considers everything.

" I guess you have a point. Hopefully Ethan won't do anything stupid. And he would have to protect us, against Harold, “ she considers. “But I don't like it Lisa. It's too dangerous," she adds

" But we have to figure out something soon. And this might a chance,” i try to convince her.

“ Okay, but if I decide it's not good. Then we will have to forfeit and think of something else, “ she responds.

"Fine. Now let's see what we can dig about all this, “ I answer. She shakes her head still very far from the idea.

We spend the rest of the night asking around. Though we make sure not to be too obvious. And it's clear drunk people love to gossip. And I hope I have drained enough information from them.

“ All I'm picking up is that they are just trying to screw this Ethan guy," I report to Wolfe.

“He does have one of the strongest packs. And I think they want to have him under their control. It's a good strategy on their end," Wolfe notes.

" We should think of a good strategy on our end, “ I reply.

I start clearing up, as my shift have came to an end. Then I leave the club as soon as possible. Making sure I'm not being followed by anyone.

We catch a taxi, headed where we were told we would find these old folks. It was a very long ride, and by the time we got there the sun was already standing above us.

“Wow this place is beautiful Wolfe. Look at the green forest," I say to my wolf as I continue down the dirty path. With huge trees on either side. The bright sun illuminating the dew on the green leaves. Shining like beautiful diamonds.

“Can you imagine running around these huge trees?" she replies. I couldn't agree more. It would be amazing. The smell of fresh air, and wet soil. It's so intoxicating.

I'm fighting the urge to shift and run free, around these tall trees.

When you're a rogue, you don't get this freedom very much.

It's hard, when you're living around humans.

We can't live around other werewolves because we risk being seen. And we can't be around other rogues either because they tend to be very violent.

And I have to do anything I can to protect Natasha. And humans are the safest bet as long they don't know who we are and what we are.

And I'm really hoping this works out. Because I know I can't protect her for long. And I'm hoping that they can protect her.

Finally, I can see the gate. Two gaurds standing tall before it.

“I didn't think they will let us in," Wolfe says as we get closer.

“It's worth the try. You already know we can't sneak in. It will just make matters worse," I respond.

“Good morning gentlemen," I greet forcing a smile. They nod as they let me in without a problem. They don't even question my presence.

'That was easy.' I say to myself.

" Interesting, “ Wolfe notes as we walk inside.

We continue down the path the leads to the huge building upfront. Where the Elders are said to hold their meetings. And around I couldn't help but notice the beautiful flowers paraded along the path way. At my right side the beautiful garden that flourished with beautiful colors and happy green leaves. The lawn nicely trimmed to perfection. And a smell of fresh air just dancing around my nostrils.

At my left, a parking lot with all kinds of cars.

Before me a huge facade, stairs that lead to huge doors. That were each decorated with colourful blossoms on either side.

" This way, “ a young man approaches me the moment I step inside. Inside there's a small reception area where a young man is based. But my focus is on the beautiful interior. Marbled, so clean I could see my self, the big chandeliers that brought light into the room and the polished brown wood.

Though I don't resist but follow the young gentleman even though I'm both confused and amazed. We continue up the stairs, and up to in front of a door, where I hear voices inside. “They are waiting for you inside," he then says before turning away.

“Maybe they are mistaken you with someone else," Wolfe springs in my head.

“I sure hope so," I say. Sucking in a long breath, before knocking on the door. I hear a voice commanding for me to come inside, and I do so.

“Who are you?" Someone immediately questions when I step inside.

“ Good morning gentlemen," I say instead standing tall, trying to hide that I'm afraid. Looking at the confused old man sitting around a long table.

“What are you doing here and how did you get in here?" he continues.

“ It doesn't matter how I got in. It matters what I have to say," I respond moving to the far end of the table. Their eyes glaring at me, calculating my every movement. Trying to intimate me, but I can't stand intimidated.

" What are... “

"Ethan—Santos, isn't it?” I cut him off. Then suddenly the whole room screams with silence.

" That sure got their attention. And I think I like this sassy side of you, “ Wolfe snickers. A smug forms on my face I look around the room. All of them looking at me attentively.

" Now that I've got your attention... But unfortunately Ethan isn't that easy to shake. I mean you've been trying for years and years. And he's the rock standing between you and victory, “ I narrate to them as they seem to be effectively listening to my story.

“ Did Ethan send you here ?" They ask. I chuckle as the notice how they think as it seems they are scared of this Ethan guy. And I wonder what's are their reasons of Ethan sending me alone here?

“ Im here with a common cause," I respond. They look at each, as they process the information amongst themselves.

“What do you have against him, anyways?" They question.

“Nothing of course..."

Anger consumes then as they here me say. “ This is the waste of our time. Get this stupid woman out of here, “ they say.

" But... The CrystalMoon pack, is not the only pack that will not bend to your design . Two of strongest packs in the whole world, both of them refusing to join you. One has made more alliance on the way, while the other has made quite some enemies." My words make them settle down, as they continue to listen. “ Just imagine what would happen if the GhostShadows pack was wrapped around your fingers."

" Interesting... “ they acknowledge as they continue to give me their ears. Just what I needed to plead my case.

" Indeed. Just imagine how many packs you will have attached on the strings? Ethan doesn't stand a chance, even in his wildest dreams. But have you ever thought what it would mean for you the two packs decided to form alliance?“ I look at them with a grin as I see the fear in their faces. Now I know I got them wrapped around my story. " All of you destroyed! “ I continue catching them of gaurd. They look at me with their eyes wide open.

" I think you're getting a little carried away, “ Wolfe doubles over with laughter. " Remember you're dealing with very heart attack prone individuals, “ she continues to laugh.

" And what's your plan? “ Then they ask. I might have gotten to their fears.

" Well marriage is a good plan. Only when you have the right girl," I say.

“You want to marry Ethan?"

“What? No. We're trying to set him up for failure, not success," I tell them.

“ If not you. Then who are you suggesting ?"

“What if I told I have exactly what you need. Wolfless—”

" But we've already tried that, “ one says irritated.

" Learn to listen old man, “ I say. He rumbles as my words might have rubbed him in all the wrong places.

" Who are you calling an old man? “ He snaps.

" Okay — young man," I tease. He almost wants to throw me down, but his friends stop him. “ A rouge." Their eyes widen as I mention. “ Surely that would get under Ethan's nerves," I add.

“But does that have anything to do with Harold?" One questions.

“Everything. Because what if I tell you... Harold's little sister," I say. Confused I see the tension in the room, as they try to understand.

“Harold doesn't have a little sister," they claim.

“Of course he doesn't. Because I have her. And just imagine the conflict it will cause between Harold and Ethan, if he ever finds out he married his long lost sister. Harold has been looking all over for her."

“Why don't we just tell Harold you've kidnapped his little sister? “ They suggest as bits of laughter move around the room.

" Because... Do you really think Harold is that stupid? Why would he join you because of that? “ I question. They look at each, realizing their plan might not work.

" So your plan is... Marry Ethan with Harold's sister... “

" Yes because, he has what Harold wants. And if you know Ethan, he won't give in so easily, “ I state. And they all seem to understand my story. Maybe even considering it.

And now, I can only hope that Ethan is able to handle Harold.
