CHAPTER 60

Ava's POV:

My heart dropped when this dreadful name left his lips. I swallowed the lump forming in my throat. Quickly looking outside the window, I discreetly wiped the lone tear away. I rubbed my clammy hands together. No matter how much I try to make myself stronger, I can never be ready for this or make my heart accept this vicious reality. But, now after learning about his past I can't be mad at him. Jessica was with him when everyone misled him and showed him their dark faces. She was and still is his everything.

"Noah isn't home so, she asked me if I can pick her up for school," Xavier said while driving to her house. I didn't say anything and the rest of the ride was filled with silence.

A few minutes later, Xavier pulled up in front of her house and honked. Jessica came out running in a beautiful short black dress. Her eyes met mine and an ugly grimace displaced the sweet smile on her face. Quickly smiling sweetly, she came towards the car.
