Her response is instant and confident. “Nope, I'm not a runner, but if I were, it'd be useless to run because you'd find me.” She laughs. If not me, then my family, they're not as good at hiding as me.” She jokes, but she's right again. I would always find her, more so now that I've touched her. I'll not let her go.

“You’re staring, Enzo,” she murmurs.

“I’m just thinking,” I tell her, leaving out the part where in my thoughts, I've forbidden her from existing without me.

“You’re slightly scary when you’re quiet,” she nearly whispers.

I gape at her. “I’m always quiet.”

She hesitates for a moment before she speaks. “Not with me.”

That knocks the breath out of me, she's right yet again. “Rumors, I'm far from quiet.” Nobody outside Alessio would agree with me being chatty, and in less than two weeks, she's become the second person I'm invariably talking to.

“You know, I’m surprised you didn’t go back to your office,” she says. “You are a workaholic or is that a false rumor

Enzo I’m aware of how to come back from the situation I've put myself and Sasha in. Maybe if I had been honest from the beginning and had requested for Sasha as my bride things would be a bit different. I've wanted Sasha from the day I saw her, I had mistaken her for Sofia but something in her eyes redirected me, They're identical but only on the surface, Something about her felt familiar, like I had known her seven lifetimes and still couldn't get enough of our time together. There's nothing I desire more than to see her happy but I don't know how to give her that without setting her free. I can't let another man have her, I can't live without her so the best I can do is try my very best to give her happiness right in this marriage, with me. She wouldn't talk to me since she told me to shut up yesterday at breakfast, she spent the rest of her day hiding away from me and I let her. But tonight? I couldn't stomach the silence, couldn't fill the void of not being close to my wife

“I shouldn't be out here, it's your fault.” She sighs, “I was in bed, having the time of my life until I came here to find you two having the time of your life.” “I wasn't,” Enzo protests, raising his hand. Alessandra rolls her eyes, "If you want to fuck other women so badly, then why not divorce me and get on with it?!" "I'm not divorcing you, you lied to me Dolcezza," Enzo slurs, "And this is your punishment, you will stay with me." "To hell with you, and the skimpy waitress. I dare you to look at another woman while you're married to me." She warns, a warning he ought to take more seriously than he is right now. It's always the quiet ones who fulfil their little threats, and I know Ale would make good on her threats. Enzo laughs, his gaze shifting to me. "She's so strict." He tries to whisper, "And people think I'm the strict spouse." "Come on, let's get you guys home," I say, offering Enzo my hand and he grabs it but then Alessandra slaps his hand away. "I can manage," sh

Alessio I'm often the one to drag Enzo out to bars and nightclubs but tonight? He invited me and he's been drinking like a fish out of water. He’s on his seventh glass of whiskey and won't stop whining about how hard his life is. This is a man who has everything right now, he will be Capo dei Capi, he has enough money to buy three countries and merge them and he happens to have married the woman he wanted. Yet somehow, he is ungrateful, I'm tired of hearing him whine constantly, and I’m seriously considering calling him Uber and just letting the city deal with the body count if anyone tries to rob him. I'd call his men but that's too sadistic on my end, he left them home for a reason. “Alessio,” Enzo calls out again, hardly able to keep his head straight. “You know what’s funny?” he slurs, utterly drunk now. “I’m the most powerful man in this fucking city, and I can’t get my wife to love me.” “That is funny,” I sigh, it's not but after hearing it more than once? My feigned empat

He pushes my dress up to my midriff, leaving me in just my thong. “What are you doing?” I whisper, my voice thin. He doesn't respond, his hand trails higher beneath my dress, and he grips my panties, sliding them aside. “Enzo—” “Shh,” he whispers, lips brushing my throat. “You don't talk when I actually need you to but suddenly you have so much to say?...” “I—” I want to say no but it's too late, my body betrays me. My pussy lacks loyalty to the plans we make when he's not around. “You’re not eating right, Sasha,” he murmurs. “You won’t talk to me still and now you're picking fights to subdue how wet you get when I'm with you,” he says, thrusting a finger inside me, and then another. “ “It's okay, Dolcezza. I want you too, I always do.” My lips part but I stifle the moan, squeezing his arm tighter, trying to compose myself as I remember where the hell we are. “We are in the dining room, Enzo.” I gasp, feeling him twist his fingers inside me. “Anyone could walk in.” I remind h

I swallow hard and reach for my water. “I must have filled up on cherries while making dessert with Mama.” I lie, my voice quiet in case she hears me. I did accompany her in the kitchen as she made a cherry pie for dessert because her father-in-law loves it and I had a couple of cherries there. Enzo frowns, leaning closer. “On what, five cherries?” I open my mouth to respond but quickly press my lips shut, my stomach is doing something odd again. I feel a twist low in my belly that’s more unsettling than painful, it's been happening a lot lately and I'm scared it could turn into something serious if I give it attention. Maybe the stress is getting to me, I've never handled this much stress and anxiety and it's taking a toll on my body now. “Eat something,” Enzo says. “Or would you like me to ask Ma Constantia to prepare you something?” he asks, watching me closely. “No,” I blurt out. Ma Constantia is probably in her quarters now, and I just don't want anything to eat right no

  • His Docile Mafia Princess    Chapter 93: In Two Months

Alessandra My father contacted me this morning, he's willing to overlook my stupidity and forgive me but I don't want to play these nasty games anymore. I don't even care that he has people for me to kill or torture, I just don't want to be caught in this mess between him and Enzo. The godfather invited us to dinner tonight because he wanted to speak with us. I assumed it was just going to be Enzo and me, but his entire family is here—well, those with rankings, that is, and their wives, and somehow Gianna and Picolina made it here tonight. I'm tense in my seat, fingers toying with the rim of my wine glass as I watch the men of the family I married into. They're all in suits tonight, and even now they don't appear relaxed. My father-in-law has ditched his calm demeanour because he's in the presence of the Capo dei Capi, who sits at the head of the table with Picolina in his lap. “Your inauguration is coming up soon,” the godfather, Angelo Valenti says. His voice doesn’t rise a
