Enzo

I stand by the window, phone pressed to my ear and my eyes fixed on the garden outside, but I see nothing beyond the interruption of my dinner with Sasha.

I've been on call for over ten minutes, and still, Michele doesn't seem to grasp how serious the situation is.

“Non è un’offerta, è un avvertimento,” (This isn’t an offer, but a warning.) I say, needing to clarify consequences, will be sure if I don't get it anyway after working on this project for three whole months.

Michele stutters, something about needing more time. Bullshit, three months was me giving him time.

“Abbiamo aspettato abbastanza. O firmi l’accordo o ti svegli senza una lingua.” (We’ve waited long enough. Either you sign the deal or you wake up without a tongue.)

A familiar silence comes through, I've rattled him enough to have him scrumbling to make my demands happen. “But Capo—”

I exhale slowly, my patience thinning as I pinch the bridge of my nose. “Parla con tuo fratello. Se non riesci a convincerlo, lo far

  • His Docile Mafia Princess    Chapter 37: scorned wife

Alessandra Today, i left the house before enzo woke up, he must've been tired from being an asshole, probably screwing the woman he could possibly love to pretending to be interested in me. I've not been this angry since my mark refused to die and I had to go to the hospital, a heavily guarded room and end all his nine lives. It was a hustle, much like being married to Enzo has easily become. i don't know how much longer I can hide my detest for him when my blood boils at the mere sound of his fucking voice. Hating it would be easier if he had a regular tone, but no, the cold-hearted bastard has the kind of voice that makes women giggle, and I never was one to giggle. I'm so angry at him, at myself, and at my stupid heart for learning it could feel something so tender and frail. My next kill is going to be sloppy, I just know it, but I also know Father won't assign me any marks, he'll use his other henchmen before he even gives me a second thought. Don Romano is petty, almost as mu

  • His Docile Mafia Princess    Chapter 35: Love doesn't live here

AlessandraThe door to our bathroom closes behind me with a soft click, and the silence inside feels too loud. Enzo is still with Alessio. I could hear them laughing as I left, but I know they didn't see me.I slip out his shirt, my hands trembling as I stare down at them, at the ring on my finger, the diamond taunts me as it glitters. Under the bedroom light. I can't believe I began to see it for what it is, A symbol of commitment, a future, and a promise of forever, but it's nothing, it's a trap that comes with lies.As convincing as Enzo was, I feel stupid, I'm an assassin for fucks sake, I was too of my class and my IQ is in the 1 percentile and yet he fooled me? I can't stomach the news, I can't bear the glossy look in my eyes nor the lump in mt throat, so I go into the shower and open it on full pressure, the cold water feels warm compared to the pain Enzo's words have left me in.Convenient. Obedient. Pretty. Makes me look good. I can't help the echoing of those words, not th

Alessandra I wake up alone, but I know Enzo is somewhere close because his gun is on the bedside table. Knowing he's still home makes me blush with memories from last night. I can't believe I said I loved him, but what's more unbelievable is how he still said it after I told him to only say it if he meant it. I'm fulfilled, and I've got those butterflies in my belly that they always talk about in the movies. I admire the rare gun my husband owns from afar, needing one for myself. The gun is even engraved; that's how seriously Enzo takes possession. Still, nothing beats the way he acts towards me, even towards his siblings. I set out to find him, it's Sunday morning, somewhat early, so he must be in the kitchen or the gym. I've learned his routine easily, he's predictable with it, at least in the house. My feet pause at the open gym door, two voices erupting from inside. I instantly recognise them, the bickering is enough of a clue. Alessio is here, and as per usual, arguing with m

“Dolccezza, are you still mad at me?” I hear him say. I swallow. He just got into bed, and I've got my back to him. I would pretend I was asleep, but I can't ignore him. I feel an inescapable pull between us, something feral and dangerous–two of my favourite things. “I'm not mad,” I shift, turning to face him. Even he is lying in bed, staring at me with bewilderment. “I am a little upset you made me leave the dinner like that, it wasn't necessary.” “How is your cheek?” he asks, ignoring my statement, to him, dragging me out was necessary, and so was warning me that my family would never see me again if they lose dangers to me. “I'm fine, Enzo,” I try to assure him, the Russian rolling off my tongue “I mean I'm fine, it was an accident, and you overreacted.” I clarify, careful not to do dry to other languages. “I'll respect the story you're going for, but Dolcezza, nobody is allowed to hurt you.” “He didn't—” “If anyone ever hurts you, then I want you to come to me. Whatever

“Sasha,” he snaps, startling me. I tense beside Gianna, who huffs in irritation. “What is it now?” she whispers to Alessio. “He's upset,” he blankly retorts, telling us the obvious. Everyone stares at Sasha, who remains frozen, her hand shaking when she sees Enzo moving towards her. Sasha needs to learn that he calls the shots, she says jump, and you ask how high immediately. “Enzo, amore, what is it?” Mrs Valenti asks, her voice trembling. Even she is afraid of her son, so who am I not to have feared him so much I ran into another man's arms for comfort. Enzo's hand reaches for Sasha's face, and she backs away, not too quickly, but Enzo counters by grabbing her, holding her in place with one hand while the other moves strands of her hair, exposing her bruised cheek. “What's this, Alessandra?” he asks, his voice harsh and cold. He startles me again. Alessandra moves his hand, “I bumped into the wall.” Really? That's the lie she's going for? Her cheek is fucking red, she

  • His Docile Mafia Princess    Chapter 31 : Stupid Alessandra

Alessandra goes with her mother. She has Reina give her a glass of champagne, and they talk to Mrs Valenti, both showering her with attention. It's weird, and not from a jealous point of view.Father, Dante, Don Valenti and Enzo are discussing something, yet I can't help but notice how Enzo watches my sister and father watches him do it. Alessandra is gawking at him too, blushing obliviously while pretending to listen to Mother and Mrs Valenti.“Sofia,” Gianna calls out. “You got it right.” I smile back at her, she had previously called me Alessandra when she arrived, but Dante had to correct her painfully.“Of course,” she sighs. “it's much easier now, Sasha is the one with the ring handpicked by Enzo.”“Hand-picked?” I gasp, that man has no time for activities that don't involve la Familia, she must be trying to get on my nerves.“Yes, crazy I know.” she maintains her expression. “So, how are you?”“I'm good.”“I love the outfit but...” she trails off, her gaze sweeping over me. “i

I watch as recognition cracks through his expression, he's got it, he knows who I am now. “No. You’re not—” “Requiem?” I grin. A man whispered among the elites, the demon that feasts fast and brutally. It's me, and when my smile confirms it, he presses the emergency button that should alert his security, but I have bugged the system, so nobody is coming for him. He stands abruptly, knocking over his chair. “They’re coming,” he warns me, but I don't stop. “My men will be here any second and..” “They won’t.” I cut him off with a single step forward. “No one will be coming for you Mr D'Angelo and don't bother offering me money, cars, you don't have enough to appease me.” I pout, feeding on his fear. He tries to back away as I swear you could see the moment he begins to plan escaping me. I'm hurt, I've waited so long to play and he wants to run from me? I'm risking my life to end his and he has the nerve to try and fight back? He signed his death certificate the moment he started pl

  • His Docile Mafia Princess    Chapter 29: Switcharoo 01

Instantly, I believe him because even though it's merely been weeks, I can't imagine life differently—I can but I loathe every second of it. I'm glad Sofia fell for the enemy, even more glad when he kisses me. His hand against my cheek is gentle, the need with which we kiss each other like long-lost lovers sends electric sensations all over my body. I get it now, kissing Enzo is an art I never want to lose touch in, I can't seem to get enough of him, his tongue. My husband tastes like every dark thought I've ever had and he's slowly yet surely unsure I'm addicted to every part of him. “Oh, Sasha.” he groans, his hand finding its way underneath my dress, moving it up in the process. I feel weak in the knees, but thankfully Enzo has a strong hold on me. With one hand he lifts me off the floor and moves us to our bed. I miss his touch the second he gently lays me on the mattress, hastily taking his jacket off.
