Her friends all wave at us, greetings coming in unison and different tones. Mother has me sitting right beside her, and I put my purse on the table, smiling big at everyone.

“It's lovely of you to join us, darling,” Mrs Benelli says, staring at me with a fake smile. “We missed the young hot gossip you always bring.”

“Oh, no.” Mother laughs, everyone here must be thinking I'm Sofia because she would often have lunch with them when she was engaged to Enzo. “This my daughter, Sasha.”

The table goes quiet, and I don't know if it's a good or bad thing, I just sit here stiff as a board while mother brushes her fingers over my back.

“I'm confused,” Mrs Artellio frowns. I've got the dirt on all these women, requested by father but the files remain in my possession. “Is that not a boy's name? I think my cousin has a son by that name.”

“It's Alessandra,” Mrs Rossi says, she's Renata's mother and the only one at this table with a clean record.

“Yes,” Mother chimes in. “Sasha is shor

“It's an example, Dolcezza. There are no women.” “I would hope not,” she calmly says. “I thought it went without saying you can't have other women along with me.” “There are no other women, Dolcezza.” I try to assure her. Maybe I should've voiced that differently because the look in her eyes makes my chest tighten. “I love you, you're my wife and if I wasn't clear enough before? You're the only woman I want, Alessandra Valenti.” “What about those other women you're talking about?” “It was an expression,” I tell her, trying not to smile at her adorable glaring. “The wrong expression, I'm sorry but I was trying to say is that you're not reacting like I thought you would.” “How was I to react?” her eyebrows crease.“Scared,” I tell her, hardly ashamed I tried to scare my wife into cuddling me. “A friend of mine saw this with his wife a while ago and she was calling him until he ran back home to her. I was expecting you to leap into my laugh not giggle at the screen.”Her lips twit

“You have no idea what I've been through thanks to you.” I do, and I hate that she didn't have anyone to protect her. “You should have told me, Usagi-chan.” “Told you what?” she asks, a hint of worry of worry in her tone. I hesitate before I speak the words that have been haunting me in the dark. My wife has chosen not to have children until she's forty, she's made all the necessary medical backup preparations In case it doesn't happen naturally and I respect that, it being her body and all. We're both thirty-three, and I'm willing to wait, but knowing Sofia had my baby inside her feels unreal, it feels like destiny, a destiny Enzo swooped from us. “You should have told me you were pregnant, that you were carrying my baby inside you.” Silence, that's what I hear for the next few seconds, accompanied by heavy breaths. “I wasn't carrying your baby,” she says, and for a second I'm wondering if her father lied to me. “I was carrying the grief, regret, betrayal and shame that y

Sang-Yeon Ever since Don Dante Romano left my home four days ago, I've felt an unfamiliar unease. I don't want to say his visit brought about my thoughts of his daughter Sofia, but it may have contributed. I often think of her, but never this much. Sofia was engaged to Enzo when I met her, I commented on her being pretty little did I know I was setting the trap for us both. Enzo is smart, there's nobody I hate more than him but I'll give credit where it's due. Baiting me into fucking his fiance was good, he got a whole new territory, broke my fucking jaw and took over my shares in a new real estate merger all in the name of being the heartbroken fiance. My wife is asleep in our bedroom, snoring soundly as I toss and turn, knowing what happened to Sofia makes for newfound guilt that I can't even stomach. I've done horrible things, things that would get me sent straight to hell but even then I've had no trouble sleeping, only thoughts of her keep me awake. I grab my phone and chec

I wonder if anyone would miss her enough to lodge an investigation if she let's say magically disappeared to the bottom of a lake in a different bag, chopped to pieces and— No. I quickly stop myself, I can't get that caught up in the idea or I'll end up doing it, and she's mother's friend, I can't. “Oh, leave the girl,” Mrs. de Luca tsks, “She's been married like four minutes.” “And she's young, Rosa.” Mrs Rossi tells her. I'm hoping that closes off the topic but it appears to be the beginning merely. Mrs Fontana nods, “Hm, ora capisco perché Renata è sposata da quattro anni… e ancora niente figli.” (Hmm, now I see why Renata has been married for four years and is still childless.) “Ren si sta semplicemente godendo la vita, tutto qui,” (Ren is enjoying her life,) Mrs Rossi shoots back, her tone calm and posture unshaken. “Her husband doesn't seem to mind waiting a few years, they're young, enjoying each other.” “A baby would help Capo's status among the older generatio

This dress is longer than the first, so I grab a pair of shoes—red-bottom strappy heels that stole my heart the second I saw them. Enzo says nothing as I put them on; he watches closely. I walk to him, cheeks flushed and anger trickling inside me from his silence. I pause when I'm close enough, Enzo's eyes entrapping me but it's not the face I'm here to show him, it's the shoes. I lift my foot and press the sole of my heel against his chest, right on the heart. His gaze drops to it, and he cusses. “Fuck.” I can't help but smile at that, “Oh, so you can speak. I was worried you'd lost your speech, re mio.” I tease. “They're amazing, dolcezza.” “I know,” I try to sound nonchalant but the approval? It makes my heart flutter. “Did you think I was unimpressed?” he raises an eyebrow, removing the pillow from his lap. My lips part when I see the dent in his pants. “Sasha, my cock has been hard since you displayed how many items you got. Seeing you spend my money is so hot to me,”
