I'm highly focused on the TV when I hear Stormi walk in, “Mrs Valenti,” she sing songs, following with a gasp. “Oh my God.” she gasps, I quickly reach for the remote and pause my she, she appears scared.

“You are watching Sixteenth Avenue,” she says, coming further into the room.

“You know it?”

“I love it,” she beams, “it's a masterpiece. My Mama didn't like me watching it growing up but guess who is old enough to watch it...”

“Stormi?” I answer with a laugh. I like how friendly she is, everyone else keeps me at arm's length despite us getting along.

Stormi sets my plate down on the table beside me, and motions to the TV. “Can I watch with you?”

“No,” I blankly retort, watching her smile fade. “Not until you get yourself a plate too.”

Stormi smiles again, “I already ate, so I'm fine.” she says, settling beside me.

“Would you like me to run it back?” I ask her, grabbing the remote control again.

“No, I ended on this episode last week so it's perfect.” she grins, watching the screen. “

And besides, I think I've already fucked up with Enzo he won't let me off. “It's either him or Enzo.” “I can't choose, Luna. Those are two different sides of a hefty coin.” “Baby, Enzo trusts you, that's why he discusses his business in your presence. You might not have his love but you have his trust, and we both know how important it is.” I nod, “But I had father's trust first, he believes in me and you saw how upset he got last time, I might not even get to see you any more if I let him down again.” “I'm here for whatever you need, but if I were you? I'd lie to him as you've been doing to Enzo, even it out because you're going to hate yourself in the end.” “The stylist is waiting, we should go,” I tell her, moving before she can say anything else. I feel trapped, whichever side I pick I'll end up hating on the other end, it's a test of loyalty and I shouldn't be questioning things because I need to stay loyal to my Father, I would be locked up in some prison cell or dead if h

A few hours later, Luna arrives and we're sitting in my room, and the stylist Gianna recommended is running a little late, but she assured me he works magic in short periods of time so I'm trusting it. Renata called, she said she would be here in like an hour. I'm reading the lyrics of some of the band's greatest hits while Luna sits opposite me. “Sasha, you know these songs, we play them like all the time in our side of the house,” she says, and I do know some but I need to know every lyric or none at all. “Speaking of the revolution, Reina was so mad when father gave me permission and she can't go.” “I was going to take her with us but then I realized that she's still a little too young to be out late, plus it's a school night.” “Yeah,” Luna nods, hopping her head to the music. “How did you even get tickets, you don't like the band Or did you become a secret fan?...” “I potentially could be, but no.” I laugh, “When I heard there were free tickets, I thought of you so I jus

Alessandra Today I feel fatigued, I slept so much that I didn't have the energy to wake up when Enzo came home last night but I did kiss him goodbye when he left at five in the morning because his grandpa needed to discuss something with him, no doubt about the recent chaos in his territories. My feet come to a halt as I enter the kitchen, noting an unfamiliar face. She's not alone, she's with Camille, the one who takes care of most of the cleaning. “Good morning, ma'am.” Camille quickly adjusts herself, their laughter dying out. “Good morning,” I say, my gaze on the other girl. She's got ripped jeans and a tank top on, her hair is tied up in a messy bun and she looks familiar. “Everything okay?” she asks. “I'm sorry, are you new?” I frown, realizing I'm staring at her. “No, but we haven't met,” she says, coming closer. “I am just filling in for Ma Constantia, my name is Stormi.” “Oh,” it finally clicks to me, that's who she looks like, our Chief of Staff. “I've heard so much

Enzo “We’re taking bets!” my cousin Marcello announces as I load my weapon, trying to get a glimpse of my wife. “Fifty bucks say she takes you out first, Enzo,” Sergio says, loyal to a fault but he saw the shot Alessandra fired in the training yard and he's seen me with her, there's no god-damned way that I'm going to fire at my wife so one of them better fire when I'm not looking because I don't care if they're on my team, I will be taken out. “Hundred says she takes you out,” I grin, loading my paintballs. “Better hope your wife still likes you after this,” my sister Isabella grins, pulling her hair back into a bun. “I saw how she adjusted her scope. That was personal.” I'm about to tell her I'd rather it be personal but then the horn blares across the field, loud and sharp and we all scatter. We are in teams of six and somehow Alessio ended up on my wife's team, claiming that it was a random draft. I take cover behind a rusted barrel, heart hammering in my chest, not b

Picolina talks to her dolls as she lays out several of them on top of a huge dollhouse rooftop, where there's a pool and beach umbrellas. I watch in awe, I don't remember ever playing with them, but I reckon kids name inanimate objects. “Do they have names?” I ask her.“Yes but this one doesn't,” she grabs a doll, handing it to me. It feels strange to hold a doll, not even when Reina was little did I touch one. “I just got her yesterday so you can name her.”“Umm,” my heart starts pounding. I've never had to name anything before, even my favourite blade is called Freedom, I am terrible at this but Picolina stares at me expectantly. “Elsa,” I blurt out.“Like frozen!” she beams.“Yes.” I nod, proud I know one cartoon. I related with Elsa for a little while but then she was free and got her happy ever after, something I never get because girls who hurt people go to hell.Picolina grabs a doll, a pretty doll dressed like Sofia, all pink.“Hello Miss Elsa,” Picolina says, the pitch of her
