"Tell me, Emily, how did you do it?," D.J., looking surprised, asked her. Just like Ariana and Judah, he too was surprised that Frederick, the same Frederick that had said falling in love was for the weak, had, in his own words, become a weakling. He fixed his gaze at her as he desperately waited for her to speak.

"How did I do what?," she, surprised at his sudden question, asked.

"He," he continued, looking towards Frederick, who had unsuccessfully tried to give him the sign not to continue with the conversation, "has always boasted before us that he would never fall in love. He keeps on saying no lady has what it takes to make his heart skip beats," he paused, looking towards Judah and Ariana, as if he wanted them to append their signatures to his story.

"He keeps on saying falling love is for weaklings like us," Ariana, in between laughter, added, lending her voice to D.J. 's words. How he liked that.
