Fifteen days later,

The scent of antiseptic lingered in the air as Janet rested, slowly recovering from her injury after a successful surgery. Every day, Kyle visited her in the hospital and spent hours with her. Having him in her arms finally brought peace to her heart.

From the moment she woke up after the surgery, she was eager to see Sebastian, to finally pour out her heart and plead for his forgiveness. However, Sebastian disappeared without a trace.

His bodyguards told her that he had urgent tasks to attend to in Springfield and needed to leave quickly. They assured her he would be back soon. Janet wanted to reach him by phone, but he never answered her calls.

“Mama!” Kyle looked up at her, rubbing his tired eyes.

Janet smiled warmly and embraced him, feeling the weight of his head on her chest as his eyes gradually closed, just as Sebastian entered the room.
