Chapter 53: Typical
We were in the lounge room, peacefully eating our meals in the dining table. The school served us a healthier meal this time: some salads, a roasted chicken, and mixed fruits in a bowl. The atmosphere was quiet, the same silence and tension we had last night.
Daniel and Mason still weren't okay, causing awkwardness to radiate in this entire area. Kourtney would casually flick her eyes to them through her thick lashes, as Mason cleared his throat and wiped a napkin on his lips. I knew all of them were too cautious to talk, especially after what happened last night. Everyone seemed disappointed, making the lounge feel dull instead of fun.
"Okay," Kourtney started, breaking the silence. "You guys suddenly became mute. What seems to be the problem?"
"Obviously because last night was exhausting," Emma answered, as Kourtney slightly nodded in response.
