Chapter 5

“I just sent you the dossier on Mr. Parks for your meeting. Let me know if you were needing something else or if that’s not what you would like.”

“I’m sure it’s great baby.”

Jake opened his email and started reviewing the dossier on Mr. Parks. Sonya was able to uncover several companies, properties, and other investments that he held. She even included what she found on every piece as well. Some of the companies appeared to be shell companies which gave him some pause.

“This looks so great. You really did a great job with this. After finding all this info, do you still have reservations about doing business with Mr. Parks?”

“I do but ultimately the decision is up to you. I don’t know the man and maybe he isn’t as bad as everything I found. I do think you should go ahead with the meeting to at least get a feel for him.”

“Yes, we should.”

“Wait WE should. You want me to sit in your meeting? Like to take notes?”

Jake let out a chuckle and pulled Sonya into his lap. “No, I want your opinion and you are the one who did the research on the man. You should be the one to ask the questions that need asked.”

Sonya just stared at Jake with her mouth open. She came out of her daze with a “A-Are you sure? I have no experience in any of this?”

Jake held her closer and kissed her forehead. “Of course, I’m sure my love. You are my mate and we are in this together. I will always want your opinion.”

Sonya smiled up at Jake but added, “But we just met how can you be so trusting already. I mean I feel like I can trust you with anything but this is such an important thing.”

Jake looked down at her with a smile on his face. “Baby you are the most important thing. If I can’t trust you with my life and work, then what is the use of anything?”

Sonya kissed Jake and sat up to straddle his lap. They kissed for several minutes before Jake’s phone buzzed that Mr. Parks was there for their meeting. “Shit I’m sorry. Let me clean up the table or where do you meet clients? I’m so sorry.” Sonya jumped up and started running to pick up the table.

Jake grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his chest. “Baby look at me and calm down. It’s okay. We can just sit in one of the sitting areas. This is really informal anyway. It’s okay. Just leave this stuff here and I will just shut the monitors off.”

Sonya smiled at him and let out a sigh. She hugged him and Jake kissed the top of her head. He smacked her ass and added “Now calm down and sit in that chair.” Jake pointed to the opposite chair of the couch.

Sonya nodded and obeyed.

Jake went to his phone and buzzed Caleb. “Bring him in. Could you bring some waters and coffees please?”

“Yes, sir.” Caleb answered.

It was another few minutes before there was a knock on the door. Jake gave the ‘come in’ for the door to be opened.

Jake met the men at the door and shook his hand. He led Mr. Parks to where Sonya was standing waiting. “And this is Sonya. I hope you don’t mind but she will be joining us for the meeting.”

Mr. Parks smiled wide and stared at Sonya. They shook hands but Mr. Parks did not let go of Sonya’s hand before he kissed the back of it.

Jake was clearly jealous but did not make a motion towards Mr. Parks since they were going to review whether they would do business or not.

Jake led him to the couch and they both had a seat there with Sonya across from them.

Mr. Parks noticed right away that he could see up Sonya’s skirt and was immediately turned on and distracted.

Jake having followed his gaze and noticed what he was looking at, he held a smirk on his face before saying in a whisper so only he could hear him. “Isn’t my mate beautiful? If you don’t take your eyes off of her, I will make you. Do you understand me?”

David smirked and nodded but did not fully look away he just gave the occasional glance at her.

“Alright let’s get down to business.” Jake said in a serious tone. “Tell us Mr. Parks what are you looking for and what can we do to help?”

Mr. Park adjusted himself and shifted in his seat to where he could look at both Sonya and Jake. “I appreciate you meeting with me. I am looking for a company that will basically manage all my interests so I can keep traveling and really just keep doing whatever I want.”

“What kind of ‘interests’ are you wanting help with?” Jake asked for clarification.

“Everything. Businesses, properties, and most of my investments. I think you would be able to diversify and grow better than I have ever imagined.”

“What kind of involvement would you have in the management of the interests?” Sonya asked. This made Mr. Parks to snap his head in her direction with a smirk on his face.

“Well love. I think that is something the men can discuss. Why don’t you go back to looking pretty and let us have a serious conversation, huh?” David said and then let out a loud laugh.

At that comment, Jake had turned red and he was having a hard time controlling his anger. His claws had started to slip from his hands and was about to pounce before Sonya cleared her throat.

Sonya replied with a smirk. “I believe you are mistaken sir.” Jake stood up and strode over to David before she added, “I am not sure if your business is one that we should be doing business with and believe me, YOU will need my support.”

Jake beamed at her for her courage to speak up to David. “Thanks for coming in. I think we will pass on doing business with you. Good luck in all your future endeavors.” Jake said while standing and putting his hand out to shake his hand.

David looked between Sonya and Jake then shook his head. He stood up and shook Jake’s hand without a word and just scoffed at Sonya and rammed into her shoulder on the way out of the office.

“Baby are you okay?” Jake asked before running to hold her. “That asshole. I am goi-“

“No Jake I am fine.” Sonya cut him off. “I’m sorry I made you lose the deal.” Sonya lowered her head to look at the floor.

Jake put his fingers under her chin and lifted her gaze to him. “You did nothing wrong. This is on that guy not you. I promise.”

Jake pulled Sonya into his chest and held her tight. Sonya was shaking because she felt like she totally blew the whole deal for Jake. “Shh baby you didn’t do anything wrong I promise.”

Jake leaned down and kissed her passionately. It took a few seconds for Sonya to start kissing him back. She could feel the love that Jake was trying to show her and that he wasn’t mad at her. She let out a sigh as he kissed her deeply.

They continued kissing for several more minutes before Sonya broke apart saying she needed to go to the restroom.

Jake walked her out and showed her where the restroom was. He watched her walk down the hallway and looked down her body to her perfect ass as it swayed from side to side as she walked. He was sure that she didn’t actually know she was doing it but he couldn’t help but smirk and wonder.

He felt his dick twitch as he was watching and pulled himself out of his daze. He looked around before going back into his office to wait for Sonya to come back.

When Sonya was almost to the bathroom, her necklace started feeling like it was jumping and pulling her back. Sonya thought it was her nerves from finding her mate and what that meant for her future. She was giddy and excited to go back to the office to be with Jake.

She hurried into a bathroom stall not really paying attention to anything else around her. She then quickly finished her business. As she was coming out of the stall, she couldn’t help but feel a presence to her left.
