Chapter 4

.

She tried to reach out to the voice in her mind again but the faded away as if it was never there before. She wanted to grab her head to make the silly headache go away but she couldn't because of the wires and all.

She wished she could remember a thing or someone would just tell her something but instead her headache worsened. She was tired of everything around her, she didn't trust Leonard and the pack doctors were not telling her a thing. Brittany was the nicest among all of them. Sometimes she brings books and reads them to her but she says nothing to her. Her company was always nice like a form of escape from the mysterious world she woke up in.

Brittany explained to her that they were werewolves, including Diana and they all used to live in a very big pack house before the vampire incidents. Her brother Leonard was the alpha and Howard the Beta was betrothed to Diana because the Alpha wouldn't allow her to be mated to a weakling or a coward. The girl was talkative but she was the only Diana trusted for the time being.

After reading two pages of the romance book to Diana and explaining the concept of soulmates and mates to Diana, Brittany left her alone to digest all the confusing information.

The sterile hospital room gradually faded from Diana's awareness as she slipped into a dreamless slumber. She longed for the comforting embrace of the mysterious man in the clearing, the only presence that felt familiar despite her memory loss. In her dreams, he visited her again, his voice like a soothing melody.

"You're here," Diana whispered, her eyes locking onto his crimson gaze as he entered her dreamlike world. The mysterious man wore the same enigmatic smile, his presence both reassuring and elusive. He never hinted at their shared past at all and even if he did, he knew she would forget again.

"I missed you," he said, his voice dripping with affection. "It feels like an eternity since we last met."

Diana's heart ached at his words, longing for the connection they shared, even if it remained shrouded in mystery. She couldn't remember the depth of their bond, but it echoed in her soul, a missing puzzle piece she yearned to find.

"Tell me," Diana implored, her voice trembling with emotion. "Who are you? Why do I feel this connection between us?”

The mysterious man's smile waned, replaced by a solemn expression.

"You have questions, my dear Diana," he replied, "and I promised you answers. But there is something you must do first."

Diana's eyes widened, her curiosity piqued. "What do I need to do?"

"Find Decanal," he whispered, his voice carrying a sense of urgency.

"Only then will the answers you seek be revealed."

"Decanal," Diana repeated the name, committing it to memory. It was a cryptic task, but she knew it held the key to unraveling the mysteries of her past. As the dream faded and reality seeped back in, Diana awoke to find herself in the hospital room once more. Her heart was heavy with both longing and determination. The mysterious man had left her with a mission, and she was determined to see it through. She opened her eyes again and she was back in the room again.

To her surprise, Howard, the man she had been told was her betrothed, sat by her bedside. Howard is a strikingly handsome man with a rugged charm and a warm presence. His features are strong, characterized by a chiseled jawline and expressive hazel eyes that radiate kindness. While not as ethereally beautiful as the mysterious man in her dreams his genuine smile and reassuring demeanor make him immensely attractive in his own right.

His eyes were filled with concern, and his presence offered a bland kind of feeling in contrast to the fuzzy feeling the mysterious man in her dreams always brings with him to the clearing.

"Diana, you're awake," Howard exclaimed, relief washing over his features. He reached out to take her hand, his touch warm and reassuring but there was something different.

“ I'm sorry I wasn't here when you woke up. I was on a mission” He said placing a kiss on her hand but she felt nothing from the interaction. He stared at her with a confusing look like he was hurt but he masked it.

Diana looked into his eyes, sensing the depth of his affection and concern. Her heart ached with the knowledge that she had once been close to this man, yet her memories remained locked away.

"I don't remember," she admitted, her voice filled with regret.

"But I want to."

Howard smiled gently, squeezing her hand. "We'll figure this out together, Diana," he said.

"No matter what, I'll be here for you”

As Diana pondered on his words she couldn't help but wonder about the mysterious man in her dreams and the task he had set before her. Who was Decanal, and what secrets did this entity hold?

The answers remained elusive, but Diana was determined to find them, with Howard by her side as a beacon of support and love. Days turned into weeks as Diana settled into her new reality. The hospital staff, led by the diligent and caring Dr. Ellis, did their best to assist her in recovering her lost memories. They conducted various tests, scans, and therapies, but progress was slow. Diana's past remained a locked door, and she had yet to find the key.

Howard was a constant presence by her side, his unwavering support a source of comfort. Despite her memory loss, their connection deepened with each passing day. His love for her was evident in every glance, every touch, and every reassuring word.

One afternoon, as Diana sat by her hospital window, gazing out at the world beyond, Howard joined her. He watched her with an expression of both concern and affection.

"Diana, you've been through so much," Howard began, his voice soft.

"I can't imagine how frustrating it must be not to remember your past."Diana nodded, a mixture of gratitude and frustration welling up inside her.

"I appreciate everything you've done for me, Howard. But there's this constant ache in my heart, a feeling that something important is missing."Howard reached for her hand, his touch gentle but it felt like all shades of wrong. She couldn't help the contrasting emotions tearing her apart from the insides. She hated the feeling that clawed at her like she was useless.

"We'll find the missing pieces together, Diana. No matter how long it takes." Howard sighed at his lies again, Finding the missing piece meant sending the love of his life back to the vampire king again and he would do anything to prevent that from happening again.

Even Maurice teased him for a while because he was too emotional on his wedding day. The wedding took place at his main palace with the Alpha king and Luna queen present. Cassie, Dyrr's human counterpart had been there also to see Decanal briefly. Cassie hardly talked and Diana was a little bit socially awkward herself so they didn't even say hi to each other. He and his Queen went back to his mansion and they started living their happily ever after. Chapter 45.“ Watch out” Diana's head whipped towards the direction of the voice, She felt herself getting whipped around as the hands of her mate caught the spear in no time. Before she could react to his actions, he threw it straight to where it came from and continued kissing his mate.Unlike him, Howard couldn't dodge the spear nor could he catch the weapon with his hands before it landed on his chest straight to his heart. He hated him so much but he hated himself for being weaker than him. He stared at them with hurt and regret swimming through his eyes as he spat out blood. He tried not to howl out in pain as the silver burned through his chest, He even caught Darryl's smirk towards him before he took his last breath. The royal wolves took his body out of the hall.“ So I can't kill my brother but you can kill him?” Diana asked furrowing her eyebrows, he only smiled at her the type that he knew always melted her inside any time he flashed her one of those.“ Your brother commi

Chapter 44.“ No” Leonard growled out angrily unable to believe his ears. Decanal and Diana communicate with each other? Since all this while and he had no idea? How the hell was that possible? He looked at her half-shift form which reminded him of that night three years ago. When she looked at him with the most vengeful glare ever.“ You will choose him over me? Your brother?” His hold facade was breaking as he looked at his sister with a hurtful expression. If Diana didn't know better, she would have fallen for it but she knew him way too much to know how manipulative he can be.“ Of course, with all your crimes against us, you think I'll choose you?” Diana tsked her tongue as she circled him with a predator smile, her claws itching for a single swing of beheading.“ His kind killed our parents! They separated you from us making you grow up with that abusive man! Diana wake up!” He growled trying to attack Darryl but Diana had him under her hold by wrapping her hands around his nec

Chapter 43.After hours of going on and on in never-ending ecstasy and pleasure, Decanal finally returned the control to Diana who was already exhausted. She blushed slightly as she curled into her mate's open arms. He wrapped his cold arms around her and pulled her closer to him. He placed a kiss on her forehead muttering “ I love you” to her and she nodded with a smile on her face before mouthing it back at him. Her throat was already raw from all the screams and moans.“ I think I should start going” She croaked out to him still feeling the ache between her legs. Her heat was not over but all the many rounds of sex should calm down her body for a while.“ No, little one. Stay with me” He said sniffing her hair and breathing in her scent like a starved animal. “ I will take you back before dawn. Just stay” He muttered, his tone vulnerable as his kingly pride and brave front slipped away revealing a man who had missed his mate so much. His blue eyes stared into her hazel eyes showin

  • His Highness's little mate   Chapter 41

Chapter 42.The first thing Decanal did was stand up and unlock the door. She dragged Diana's wrecked body out of the room after masking her scent so every unmated wolf within their range wouldn't go crazy. She was the only wolf who could do such and she prided herself in her abilities.“ Diana?” Howard said immediately he heard the door open. He stood up and took a look at her but Decanal wasn't up for him. “ You smell different” He purred sniffing the air before he could touch her, Decanal attacked him. She knocked him out flat with just a swing of her fist. She let out her claws and cut her pinky finger. The one she broke earlier to scare Diana, a dark liquid poured out instead of blood, her poison. She placed little on Howard's mouth, not enough to kill him but enough to keep him out the whole night and also give him temporary amnesia. She sat down, ignoring the way her body screamed out in pain at every movement she made. If there was one reason why she begged Diana to take cont

  • His Highness's little mate   chapter 41

Chapter 41.“ Where the fuck have you been?” Howard asked immediately as he sighted Diana from afar. Diana felt her instinct go wild at the sight of him, her gums hurt as her canine threatened to come out. She took a deep breath before talking to her wolf.“ Decanal No!”“ Why? I can just kill him now and move forward to your brother later” The wolf whined inside her head. She was slowly regretting that she returned Decanal to her body. Although she felt like she was complete again she still felt weird sharing her consciousness with another being.“ You promised” Diana hissed.“ Alright, I won't do anything but I can't promise not to do anything if he manages to make you angry”She walked towards the house while having an internal banter with her other half. It's hard to maintain your cool when all your wolf thinks about is homicide. Howard stared at her waiting for an answer but she said nothing.“ I asked you a question” He barked grabbing her wrist tightly and dragging her closer
