Chapter 12

It was Darren.

The moment Amelia saw him she got frightened, but she soon recognized it was her mate who was looking after her.

The rain was heavy which soaked his fur to the skin, but he didn’t move a bit as that would cause him to lose sight of her window.

When Amelia looked down at him, he got startled first and then quickly walked away with his head lowered. Amelia noticed his ears went down and there was a trace of guilt flashing through his lonely green eye.

He was feeling guilty and regretting, guilty of not being able to help her, regret of not finding her earlier…

Amelia felt her heart get stung. She didn’t want a relationship anymore, but she had no intention to hurt Darren.

In her pathetic short life, Darren was the first one who was nice to her. He saved her from that cold wheelchair and comforted her with his soft, warm fur.

He was indeed a ferocious animal, but wasn’t a scary man.
