Chapter 17

22–28 minutes

-ANNA-

Lucifer left early this morning to meet with someone and retrieve my car from the woods. I decided I needed some fresh air, so I put on a black sports bra, a pair of black workout leggings and some tennis shoes before running through the woods surrounding the house. Lucifer couldn’t say anything about it because our land has protective wards that requires anything supernatural to have an invitation to enter by either me or my aunts. After spending the last thirty minutes running, I stop to get the mail out of the mailbox. I bounce up the front steps of the house and enter, closing the door behind me. I walk into the living room as I’m sifting through the mail, dropping some on the floor in the process. I curse under my breath, setting the mail in my hands on the decorative table beside me before bending at the waist to pick up the mail from the floor.

“Daaaaaamn! Lucifer you did good!” A female voice I didn’t recognize calls out from behind me.
