ELIAS’ POV

Time seemed to stop and everything around me became a blur. Everything but her. The hunter stood out amongst the crowd of dancing figures like a bright star in the night sky, her radiance nearly blinding. A goddess among peasants.

She was beautiful. It pained me to admit it but there wasn’t a single female in the club that held a candle to her. She was flawless. Breathtaking.

She oozed an air of confidence as she strode through the club, so unlike the trembling female I’d seen on that night and I figured this was probably her default setting. A proud and powerful hunter. The mortal reaper.

For some reason, that pompous air she exuded was insanely attractive to me.

She looked the same as I’d seen her last yet more beautiful at the same time. I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

Like a lost fool, I stood at the balcony’s edge, absorbing every detail of her that I could. Unlike the first night we’d crossed paths, she was dressed lighter, giving me a better view of everyth

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 21

DAMIEN’S POVI stood there in shock as my eyes took in the gruesome scene. There was no trace of the vamp’s head in sight, only a mix of finely crushed skull fragments and brain matter. His head was missing from the point where the collar had sat on his neck. All that remained of his head was the deep crimson that painted the walls and floors of Allison’s room and of course, bits of skull fragments and brain matter here and there. Given my line of work, I was well acquainted with the sight of gore and carnage but a wave of nausea hit me as I took in the scene and the pungent smell of blood in the air wasn’t helping matters. His head had bloody exploded. What a brutal way to go. Leave it to an abomination to think up such a deranged way to kill a person. ‘’Do forgive me for the mess.’’ The female said with a deceptively polite smile as she swiped at her blood-stained cheek with the back of her hand. She only succeeded in smearing the blood across her face rather than cleaning it like

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 20

DAMIEN’S POVAllison never left her room unlocked, no matter what. Whether she was in the room or not, she never failed to lock the door. It wasn’t because she didn’t trust us, and it wasn’t because she had something to hide. No, it was a trauma response, one that stemmed from years of brutal abuse. She was forced to live as a blood slave for so long, allowing countless vampires to have access to her body whenever and wherever they pleased, all against her will. Even though she knew well a locked door wouldn’t stop an abomination intent on hurting her, she needed the locked door to give her the illusion of safety. It was the only way she could sleep.Inching closer to her bedroom door, the sound of careless shuffling carried over the sound of the blaring alarm, and I went on high alert. There was definitely someone inside, and it sounded like they were rummaging through her things. With my gun loaded, ready, and away from my body, I peeked through the half-open door, making sure to be

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 19

DAMIEN’S POV “She’s what?” I asked the old man for clarification, not believing the words that were casually spilling off his scarred lips. I stood in his office, glaring at the greying man that calmly sat behind the mahogany desk. The doctor—whose presence was wholly unnecessary in this situation—stood to his side with an uncomfortable expression on her face as she glanced from me to the leader. The leader heaved a sigh as he leaned into his desk chair, his hand coming up to pinch the bridge of his nose in what seemed like frustration. Frustration he had no right to be feeling. I was the one who was frustrated here. It hadn’t even been a full day since I’d left on the mission he’d forced me to go on, yet within that short span of time, all hell had broken loose in my absence. “I said she’s gone. She's missing. We’ve tried locating her tracker, but she left it in the facility.” “How could you let this happen under your watch?” I yelled at him, my hands slamming into his des

Standing directly in front of me, I had to crane my neck up just to meet his gaze. That was the first time I took note of just how tall he was. I’d known he was tall; I’d assumed as much from watching him from the rooftop that fateful night, but up close like this… He towered over me, making me feel short. And by no means was I considered short. At 5’10, I was technically taller than the average human male. But then again, he wasn’t human.Just like that night when we’d first met, his bloodstained eyes remained fixated on me, unblinking, the crimson orbs boring into me like they saw through my very soul. Fear stirred up with each second longer his crimson gaze lingered on me, but I refused to let it show. The part of me that prided itself in strength refused to show any more weakness to this male.“It’s a shame that it had to be you.” He started, the timbre of his deep voice erupting goose pimples all over my skin. It could have just been my imagination, but his face looked almost mel

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 17

A sickly sweet smile peeked at me through the bars of the cell, its owner’s dark eyes gleaming with merriment as they peered down at me. Alistair. He was back and the gleeful expression on his face made my stomach twist into a tight knot. I hadn’t expected his presence again so soon, not after the debacle from earlier with the Royal, but my expectation wasn’t reality. He was here and the look on his face told me something bad was about to happen. Alistair wasn’t alone this time. A new face stood to the side of him, the new male’s expression stoic as he stared down at me, his face unreadable. He was an abomination as well, a vampire most certainly. I could tell that much from how unrealistically good-looking he was. He was tall, taller than Alistair from what I could tell and his large body was packed with muscle. Merely looking at him, I could tell he was a fighter. And a deadly one at that. There was a certain aura around him that let me know he was a far greater threat to me than

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 16

“Michail, can I speak to you for a moment.” No pain. The cracking of the whip as it lashed my skin never sounded, and hesitantly I peeled my eyes open to find out why. Lord Michail had stopped in place, his head turned ever so slightly to the female who had entered the prison. She stood a few steps away from the entrance, her form clad in a black knee-length dress that was a stark contrast against her pale skin. She was beauty personified, with the clearest pair of blue eyes I’d ever seen and a body befitting a supermodel. Her presence didn’t suit the ambience of the prison. “I’ve warned you not to interrupt me while I’m busy.” Lord Michail snapped, his grip on the whip tightening. I saw the fear in Eliza’s blue eyes the moment he snapped at her and she cautiously took a step back before seeming to gain some courage. “This is important.” “What is it?” “I understand that you enjoy playing with your new toy but you’re risking all our lives by keeping that girl here. You have

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 15

Chapter 15My scalp tingled as fingers sifted through my hair, the touch gentle as they ran through my long hair. What was going on here? My head felt like a haze had settled over it and I could hardly think clearly. I was sprawled out on the ground, my head rested on what felt like a person’s lap. The sound of nature floated around me, making me feel strangely at ease. Birds were chirping and I could faintly make out the sound of a flowing river. The smell of grass tickled my nostrils and my confusion only grew.Where was I? Hadn’t I been in the cell? The hand sifted through my hair again and my body unwittingly relaxed, a strange calm washing over me with the action. I found myself leaning into the touch, craving more of the tenderness. Confused, I blinked my heavy lids open, intent on figuring out who this person was but a haze of white blurred my vision, masking the stranger’s face in shadows. I could only make out the faint silhouette of what appeared to be a woman staring dow

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 14

Royals blood had strong healing properties. Strong enough to revive a person from the brink of death when ingested. Because of this, Royal’s blood was a very rare and highly sought commodity. There were so few royals still alive after the last battle for the throne and the number of royals willing to give their blood out was even lower. Especially since blood was a major catalyst to initiate the change. Very few were willing to hand their blood out and risk the creation of fledglings they had no knowledge of. Before now, I’d never had a reason to use my blood to heal someone, let alone a human but I couldn’t bear to see the hunter writhe in pain. It almost felt like I was the one who was hurt. I couldn’t stand to see the female who killed my brother writhe in pain. How laughable. All that talk about making her pay for what she’d done, now look at me. Healing her with my blood and staring at her unconscious form like a love-sick puppy. I didn’t even realise when my hand began stroki

  • His Little Hunter   Chapter 13

“I warned everyone to steer clear of this place, did I not?” The royal said, his deep voice full of authority as his hand rested on Alistair’s throat. He didn’t yell, in fact, his tone was almost gentle and that was what made it so terrifying. Despite not raising his voice, I could feel the fury oozing off him in waves. It was enough for the hairs on the back of my neck to stand on end even though I wasn’t the one his fury was directed at. I could only imagine what Alistair was feeling. The vampire struggled, clasping at the royal’s hand in an attempt to free himself. An obviously futile attempt. He was no match for the Royal. “You did, Lord Elias.” Alistair croaked through constricted vocal cords, his eyes wide as he struggled to breathe. “Yet you go behind my back anyways and even dare lay hands on my prisoner.” “It was her fault. She… She…”“It’s her fault you disobeyed my orders? Do you take me for a fool?” The royal’s crimson eyes narrowed, his grip growing tighter until a si
